Partner Experience
Overview
Drake is based in Irvine, CA at RapidScale’s headquarters
and is responsible for developing new partnerships, main-
taining current partner relationships, and facilitating a win-
ning environment for them and RapidScale.
Prior to joining RapidScale, Drake was a full-time student at
University of Nebraska – Lincoln. During his tenure as an un-
dergrad student, Drake studied Marketing and Economics
as well as international business and commercial law.
Chris is based in Orange County and is responsible for Chan-
nel sales of RapidScale’s cloud services through on-board-
ing, training, and supporting sales partners throughout the
Western Region of the United States, including Carriers,
Master Agents, Agents, VARs and MSPs.
Prior to joining RapidScale, Chris was an MV-22B Osprey Pi-
lot, a Flight Operations Manager and Communications Bat-
talion Manpower Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has
strong experience in leadership, program management,
and business management.  Chris holds a Bachelor’s de-
gree from Florida State University and is pursuing his MBA
through UNC, Chapel Hill.

What is CloudServer?
CloudServer eliminates the need to spend capital on upgrading physical hardware and move into an Oper-
ating Expense (OpEx) model. The consumer does not manage or control the underlying cloud physical infra-
structure but has control over operating systems, storage, and applications.
Virtual servers offer numerous advantages over
physical servers. Manageability of virtual servers is
simpler because you can easily connect to the serv-
er’s console remotely without the need for special
remote access hardware. You can also duplicate
virtual servers and create templates for quick repli-
cation. Lastly, virtual servers all see the same virtual
hardware (except for processors) regardless of the
physical hardware they are hosted on. This ensures
that your applications all run on similar hardware to
eliminate problems that may arise from dissimilar
hardware.

The customer is a dental
practice management com-
pany with over 40 locations
across the United States in
Florida, Virginia, Arizona and
California. The company acquires, develops, ren-
ovates, consolidates and partners with dental
practices through its integrated dental care de-
livery systems. The company, with 250+ employ-
ees, had the majority of its business relying on
its ERP/medical applications running on an MSP
based in a single data center. When the compa-
ny acquires new practices, it has to add the new
office into the current email and back-office envi-

The MSP couldn’t handle the growth from an infrastructure
and policy perspective to go along with the numerous out-
ages based on policies and limitations within the current
environment. Since the organization was expanding across
the US, the dental practice needed a uniform infrastructure
and policies for future growth with a limited IT staff.
The dental practice management company wanted a dy-
namic solution that could expand and deploy quickly, and
wanted to know what the OpEx would be every time a new
office was added.
Opportunity
After being introduced to the opportunity through a sales
partner, RapidScale’s team of experts analyzed the cus-
tomer’s needs. The dental practice management company
wanted a dynamic solution that could expand and deploy
quickly. The client also wanted to know what the OpEx
would be every time a new office was added. RapidScale
was asked to evaluate the environment and build a

RapidScale presented the customer with a solution to ad-
dress their pain points. After evaluating, RapidScale com-
partmentalized the infrastructure into five parts: email, IaaS,
failover, virtual desktops, and policies/procedures. Rapid-
Scale upgraded th client’s email to CloudMail (Exchange
2013, and put in a migration plan for the 250+ employees.
After the email migration, the cloud provider mapped a plan
for a migration of the infrastructure to CloudServer with
CloudDesktop (virtual desktops). RapidScale then worked
with the client’s IT team to identify which applications and
servers needed high availability for CloudRecovery with
Failover and built out a replication environment in a sec-
ondary data center. Once that was stood up, RapidScale
helped build out new policies and procedures to use going
forward so any future acquisitions would go smooth.
The client can now take advantage of a scalable environ-
ment for future acquisitions and a stable environment with
failover. The IT team knows the exact cost of each new
employee coming on board, and is able to make quicker
decisions.

The customer is a regional law firm lo-
cated in three states, with 150 employ-
ees and is headquartered in Mobile, Al-
abama. The client was in the process of
splitting away from its parent company.
Upon split-ting away from the parent company, the law firm
was deeply unsat-isfied with support and performance of
their infrastructure. Its core line-of-business application was
TrialWorks, a case management software system. Further-
more, they were hosting their production in-frastructure out
of a local data center with a local MSP.
Pain Points
One of the largest pain points for the customer was due to
losing their prior MSP partner. During the split from their par-
ent company, the customer was forced to take on support
of their own infrastructure. This caused numerous issues
due to the level of support and lack of ability to be reactive.
They wanted full management, similar to what they already
experienced with the MSP, as well as a similar back-end,
patching, and updates. These were the key drivers in the
law firm’s transition.
Opportunity
The law firm reached out to their trusted technology consul-
tant with the request to explore options for a cloud solution.
After being introduced to the opportunity, RapidScale’s
team of experts analyzed the customer’s needs. The team
put together a cloud solution to resolve performance and
support issues, as well as provide cost efficiency and reli-
ability. RapidScale was able to present a similar, and famil-
iar, solution to what the law firm had in place, but complete
with full management and support.
Solution
RapidScale presented the client with a solution to address
their pain points, proposing its Infrastructure as a Service
solution, CloudServer. RapidScale was able to provide the
law firm a similar solution to the one they had prior to the
transition, which was a terminal server environment. While
their new cloud environment was similar to their one prior, it
boasted one major improvement. RapidScale included their
world-class full management and 24x7x365 support, which
was what the law firm had been missing. RapidScale’s
management is unique in that it provides the customer with
not just any-day, any-time support, but also complete man-
agement and monitoring of the customer’s systems includ-
ing patching, updates, upgrades, and much more.
RapidScale’s CloudServer is extremely scalable, allow-
ing the law firm to be reactive as it experiences business
changes. The law firm was also able to continue using its
core line-of-business application, TrialWorks, in their new
cloud environment.
Finally, RapidScale also provided the customer with our
Hosted Exchange offering, CloudMail, and the complete
Microsoft Office Suite.

Regional Law Firm
The customer is a large hospice located in Florida, with
400 client terminals across its head office and 12 branch-
es. The hospice needed to support its end users and
manage the business effectively. Based on this need, it
became clearly necessary that the client either contracted with a com-
pany to handle after hours end-user support, or brought in a managed
cloud provider that could handle the entire desktop experience.
Pain Points
The hospice needed a higher level of security and a tech-
nology refresh. It lacked the advanced engineering skill sets
to address these needs. Additionally, its company Help
Desk solution was in-house and needed to be outsourced.
The client also lacked a true management and tracking sys-
tem. Business users were not receiving quick, efficient, or
reliable service.
On-site resources at remote locations needed to be coor-
dinated by a single organization that would set priorities,
manage tickets, and assist with managing OEM’s like hard-
ware manufacturers. All activities surrounding the desktop
experience and the client’s private network needed to be
monitored and managed around the clock. Without all of
these activities, end users throughout the organization
would experience degradation in their ability to be produc-
tive because of the state of their technology tools and sys-
tems.
Opportunity
After being introduced to the opportunity through a sales
partner, RapidScale’s team of experts analyzed the cus-
tomer’s needs. The cloud provider was tasked with devel-
oping a process in order to operate IT efficiently and effec-
tively. RapidScale worked closely with the COO and IT team
to develop a plan for transitioning services and supporting
end users.
Solution
RapidScale presented the customer with a solution to ad-
dress their pain points, proposing CloudDesktop as the fi-
nal product. The hospice moved its 400 client terminals,
located across its head office and 12 branches, to Rapid-
Scale’s highly scalable CloudDesktop platform. Now, the
hospice can provide its staff and contractors with the most
advanced and secure Desktop as a Service platform, with
quality appli-cation performance and support.
Large Hospice
A part of the hospice’s efforts to refresh its desktop solu-
tion, it decided to implement this service to reduce desktop
management costs and prolong the user-terminal device
life cycle. The new DaaS was built in a private environment
to assure HIPAA compliance, too.
A Help Desk solution was implemented, enabling the hos-
pice to have a single point of integration for support issues.
All incoming calls were handled with defined processes,
issues were tracked, and on-site resources were dispatch
to address desktop issues. The solution streamlined order
management, trouble ticketing, and the support system for
end users.
The benefit of this transition was application security, per-
formance and support. The revamped, cutting-edge plat-
form has boosted the hospice’s ability to improve employee
productivity and workload efficiency, and a empower a true
mobile workforce. By monitoring all activities in a quanti-
tative fashion, RapidScale was able to reduce the overall
cost of support activity. The hospice continues to use Rap-
idScale as their single point of integration, and views the
cloud provider as the true solutions partner that was need-
ed to maintain compliance and manage IT costs effectively.

The client is a large lumber manufacturing company
based in New York that was established in 1890.
The manufacturer has 21 locations throughout the
Northeast. The organization was on a 420-user
desktop platform with IBM and the environment
was managed by an MSP. The client also had multiple in-house servers
that they were struggling to manage while scaling and growing at a rapid
pace. The manufacturer has a limited IT staff and desperately wanted
to offload as many workloads as possible to enable the staff to leverage
technology and drive innovation and revenue.
Pain Points
The client had multiple vendors that each managed a por-
tion of the environment, which was tedious and caused
frustration because many of the tasks and projects were not
being completed in a timely fashion or at all. In fact, the or-
ganization received very limited and time-delayed support,
with some tickets taking a week or more to be addressed.
The manufacturer also had a $180,000 licensing spend due
in January that they did not prefer to spend capital on. The
organization was struggling with nagging technical issues
with the Citrix desktops, primarily due to the MSP not hav-
ing certified Citrix engineers on staff. The client desperately
wanted a partnership and team of professionals that could
accomplish consolidating the infrastructure (POS, server
environment, desktops) and take ownership of the entire IT
footprint, strategy and management.
Opportunity
The sales partner that introduced RapidScale completely
owned a trust-based relationship with the client. That ex-
isting trust allowed RapidScale’s team of cloud experts to
meet with the client in a series of discovery meetings. The
lumber manufacturer wanted to select a cloud provider that
would develop a strategy to operate and manage its IT en-
vironment efficiently and effectively, taking total ownership.
RapidScale’s team worked closely with the organization’s
entire IT staff to develop and plan for the transition of ser-
vices and support of end users.

SPLA, Office 365, and Citrix licenses that resulted in
$207,000 annual savings. CloudMail also replaced the
client’s existing email service, which consolidated the server
environment by 42%.
The RapidScale solution resolved 100% of the customer’s
pain points, claimed complete ownership of the environ-
ment, and freed the IT team from ongoing, nagging, re-
actionary issues. Instead, the IT team can now focus on
more innovative initiatives and projects that result in driving
profitability for the company.

Drake is based in Irvine, CA at RapidScale’s headquarters and is responsible for developing new partnerships, main- taining current partner relationships, and facilitating a win- ning environment for them and RapidScale. Prior to joining RapidScale, Drake was a full-time student at University of Nebraska – Lincoln. During his tenure as an un- dergrad student, Drake studied Marketing and Economics as well as international business and commercial law. Chris is based in Orange County and is responsible for Chan- nel sales of RapidScale’s cloud services through on-board- ing, training, and supporting sales partners throughout the Western Region of the United States, including Carriers, Master Agents, Agents, VARs and MSPs. Prior to joining RapidScale, Chris was an MV-22B Osprey Pi- lot, a Flight Operations Manager and Communications Bat- talion Manpower Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has strong experience in leadership, program management, and business management.  Chris holds a Bachelor’s de- gree from Florida State University and is pursuing his MBA through UNC, Chapel Hill. Opportunity After being introduced to the opportunity through a sales partner, RapidScale’s team of experts analyzed the cus- tomer’s needs. RapidScale was asked to evaluate the environment and build a Solution RapidScale presented the customer with a solution to ad- dress their pain points. After evaluating, RapidScale com- partmentalized the infrastructure into five parts: email, IaaS, failover, virtual desktops, and policies/procedures. Rapid- Scale upgraded th client’s email to CloudMail (Exchange 2013, and put in a migration plan for the 250+ employees. After the email migration, the cloud provider mapped a plan for a migration of the infrastructure to CloudServer with CloudDesktop (virtual desktops). RapidScale then worked with the client’s IT team to identify which applications and servers needed high availability for CloudRecovery with Failover and built out a replication environment in a sec- ondary data center. Once that was stood up, RapidScale helped build out new policies and procedures to use going forward so any future acquisitions would go smooth. The client can now take advantage of a scalable environ- ment for future acquisitions and a stable environment with failover. The IT team knows the exact cost of each new employee coming on board, and is able to make quicker decisions. The client was in the process of splitting away from its parent company. Upon split-ting away from the parent company, the law firm was deeply unsat-isfied with support and performance of their infrastructure. Its core line-of-business application was TrialWorks, a case management software system. Further- more, they were hosting their production in-frastructure out of a local data center with a local MSP. Pain Points One of the largest pain points for the customer was due to losing their prior MSP partner. Solution RapidScale presented the client with a solution to address their pain points, proposing its Infrastructure as a Service solution, CloudServer. While their new cloud environment was similar to their one prior, it boasted one major improvement. The hospice needed to support its end users and manage the business effectively. Based on this need, it became clearly necessary that the client either contracted with a com- pany to handle after hours end-user support, or brought in a managed cloud provider that could handle the entire desktop experience. The organization was on a 420-user desktop platform with IBM and the environment was managed by an MSP. The client also had multiple in-house servers that they were struggling to manage while scaling and growing at a rapid pace. The manufacturer has a limited IT staff and desperately wanted to offload as many workloads as possible to enable the staff to leverage technology and drive innovation and revenue.
