Italian Child Care
• the reggio approach came from it’s
place of origin, Reggio Emilia, a city in
Emilia Romagna, Northern Italy.
• After the second world war (1945),
Loris Malaguzzi, a teacher who found
this system
• This system was created by the need of
women returning to the work force
• The catholic church has sponsored out
of the home and care for the
disadvantage pre-schoolers as a
charitable social service and religious
training for the most of the 19th and 20th
centuries.

• Over the past 50 years, The Reggio Emilia's
schools system has grown in a outstanding and
innovative set of philosophical assumption,
curriculum, and pedagogy, method of pre-
school organization, and the layout of the
environment that has been taken as a combined
as a whole to become what is known as the
Reggio Emilia approach.

system
In Italy they have two types of formal child care
system child care system- public and private.
Private:
• Most of the child cares are private which are not
fully funded by the government.
• There are many different ways to enrol a child in
the child care.
• There is a wide range of selections based on the
type, cost and quality so therefore supplying
parents with better child care decisions.
Public:
• Public child cares are provided by the local
community.
• But the number of children allowed per child care
