Annotated Bibliography Self Evaluation
The annotated bibliography, the precursor to our upcoming research paper, was the third
essay installment I wrote for my composition class; English 101. The challenge with this essay is
that it is not really an essay at all, but a compilation of information for my research paper,
formatted in a way that concisely summarizes what each works cited source is all about, and how
it will add to my research component, as well as supporting my counterargument. This type of
paper, written with annotation on all copies of my 5 sources, as well as my reference point (I
chose to use my text analysis essay for my “jumping off” point) will lay all the ground work for
my research paper, the final essay of the semester.
My goal with this paper was was to garner and gleen information from sources that were
applicable within the topic (media piracy) of my research without being too complicated and
legal. That goal was achieved, I feel, within reason. It is difficult to make legal jargon
understandable, even Judges struggle to make rulings due to the language, so my hope is that the
bibliography is readable and understandable as a reference point for my research paper; there, I
will have more words to explain my subject matter. I feel I accomplished what I set out to do,
and I am happy with the final copy and had little revising to do following grading.
