2. purpose of a motherboard in a computer:
The motherboard is the main printed circuit board
and contains the buses, or electrical pathways,
found in a computer.
3. Introduction to motherboard
The motherboard (also known, system board,
planar board) is the main circuit board inside the
PC. It holds the processor, memory and
expansion slots and connects directly or
indirectly to every part of the PC.
4. What are the part in the motherboard:
the parts of the motherboard includes : CPU Socket
Heat sink Cooling fan CMOS Battery and many
other more.........Some of the most important
parts are the CPU, which you may have to buy
separately
6. Motherboard components:-
ROM(Read Only Memory):-
Pronounced for read only memory, computer memory on
which data has been prerecorded. Once data has been
written onto a ROM chip, it cannot be removed and can
only be read.
7. Motherboard components:-
CPU cooler
The simplest type of cooler is a heat sink, which is
a metal cover glued to the chip that provides a
larger surface area for heat dissipation.
8. Motherboard components:-
Heat Sink
The simplest cooler is an aluminum heat sink, which
uses fins to provide the maximum cooling surface for
making contact with the air.
9. Motherboard components:-
Memory Socket:-
A memory slot, memory socket, or RAM slot is
what allows computer memory (RAM) to be inserted into
the computer. Depending on the motherboard, there will
usually be 2 to 4 memory slots
10. Motherboard components:-
Cache and/or cache Sockets:-
Cache is a high-speed access area that
can be either a reserved section of main
memory or a storage device.
11. Motherboard components:-
CMOS battery:
A battery that maintains the time, date, hard disk
and other configuration settings in the CMOS
memory. CMOS batteries are small and are
attached directly to the motherboard.
12. Motherboard components:-
BIOS:-
BIOS (Basic Input/ Output System), is also known as ROM
BIOS, or System BIOS. It is a chip located on all
motherboards that contain instructions and setup for how
your system should boot and how it operates.
14. How to replace the CMOS battery:
In many cases, the battery is soldered directly
onto the motherboard, but the battery is usually
in some sort of holder so it is easy to replace.
first try leaving the computer on for 24-hours. In
some cases this can charge the battery and
resolve your issue.
Most computers have a small battery. just after
open the cover we see the battery in some sort
of holder then put it out and put another on in it.
16. Motherboard form factors:
As computers advanced, so have motherboards. Below is a
listing of the various motherboard form factors and additional
information about each of these form factors including ATX the
most commonly used motherboard form factor today.
