problem and that is extremely prevalent in the United States. This phenomenon has been a
controversy for decades that is still highly debated today. One of the reasons why this topic is so
important is because of how dangerous firearms can be towards others or even yourself. Just in the

article titled "A national response to school shootings." In his paper he is extremely thorough about
gun control, more specifically what is causing the problem and how to fix it. In addition, Fritz
stresses that the services and precautions taken to increase gun control are not enough to be effective.
The final gun control supporter Aditi Verma, a journalist for bioethics journal claims that Untied
States needs more gun control enforcement. Verma expressed her thoughts with her paper titled
"Gun Control and Mental Illness." She takes on the stance that if people want something done then
they have to invest their time and money into what they are doing. For example, if she wants to

Imagine the notion of being defenseless against an individual holding the purpose of wreaking mass
devastation on the students and faculty inside of a school. In 2012, Sandy Hook Elementary School
in Newtown, Connecticut endured a tragedy that carries historical significance to the notion of
shielding those inside of a classroom in a worst–case situation. When twenty–six students had their
life taken away during a school massacre, the thought of permitting teachers to carry handguns
during class drew more consideration than ever. The safety of the students inside of a school facility
may be in jeopardy as manifested in school shootings such as the ones which transpired at Sandy
Hook Elementary School and Virginia Tech, where thirty–two students and teachers lost their lives
(History.com). While many feel that presenting teachers with handguns may prove harmful to safety
efforts, inflicting such standards would provide instructors and students equally with enhanced
protection and overall security.
Imagine being in the family's shoes when hearing through media reports that their child was killed in
a school shooting. If teachers had the option of being equipped with the handguns, then that child
(and the rest in the classroom) would have survived. How many more times are we going to learn
about a deranged gunman walking into a school loaded and ready to kill? How many more
innocent children need to die before we wake up and give our teachers the prospect to fight back?
The only resolution is to grant our teachers a fighting chance. No shooter is going to target a

My first resource is comes from a book titled, Evaluating Gun Policy. This book was created by a
complex variety of both supporters, activists, and national statics, all pertaining to current Gun
Control Laws, potential law amendments, and the opinions of men and women who are both for and
against firearms and firearm safety. It's a compilation of Prevalence, Policy, Restrictions, and
potential policy changes (Evaluating Gun Policy, 2003).
Evaluating Gun Policy is not a bias source. Each chapter is filled with facts that pertain to the
research conducted by the many contributors. This is one of the reasons I find this resource so very
valuable. The information is also frequently cited because it is a plethora of outside resources, this
allows me the ability to explore those resources for more information pertaining to my topic.

The publics opinion means more than we know to criminals. Criminals are always looking for
attention, if they can grab you and cause you to be interested by their actions then they have
achieved one of there biggest goals. A criminal thinking about the idea of shooting down multiple
civilians might then take a step back and wonder if they really should risk their life in an attempt to
end the life of others. The ability to carry a firearm is not only great protection for you, but is also
good protection for those who are not carrying firearms around you. The second Amendment is
about the right to bear arms, the right we have as American citizens to carry a firearm as protection.
Though guns have been used incorrectly in past and recent events, these situations cannot stop us
Americans to have are legal rights. There are multiple scenarios where having a firearm on you will
can defuse the situation before the police or anyone else can help out. Showing the criminals that
you can fight back makes them rethink the next time they just want to go point guns at people.
As gun control is such a popular topic that can lead to arguments of whether it should be legalized
or not, the idea that we would not be able to defend ourselves, should the need arise, is a horrific
nightmare and almost a terrible reality. Legalizing gun control wont stop shootings and won't fix
America. It will just leave us helpless and give the honorable citizens of America a major
disadvantage to the criminals that need to be stopped. In conclusion we should keep guns legal and
keep America

Some of the last news that has appeared on the news has been mass shooting. Which has triggered
questions about gun laws again. A gun control group founded by former U.S. Rep. Gabby Gifford
called for the shutdown of websites selling machines and parts that allow buyers to create a
homemade, untraceable weapon. I feel that there is no urgency to trying to create stricter laws
towards gun violence.
The Gifford Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence requested that Shopify and Dream Host shutter
websites Ghostgunner.net and Ghostgunner.com, which provide old parts that can be used to create
a custom firearm referred to as "ghost guns."
A new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll shows that a majority of voters support stricter gun
control laws in the mass murder of 58 concertgoers in Las Vegas by a single man with nearly two
