2. WHAT IS DISTRIBUTION
• A film distributor is a company or individual responsible for releasing films to the public
either theatrically or for home viewing.
• There are many different distribution companies, some big others very small. An example
of a major film distributer is Universal and American company that produces large budget
movies. A UK film production company is Metrodome, they distribute low budget short
movies.
3. WHO WOULD BE INTERESTED IN OUR FILM
• From my research I think that Metrodome group would be interested in our film it is a
small, low budget film. They are also based in different locations and they will promote our
film through the internet.
Audience
• I think that our film will appeal to a wide range of audiences around the world not just in
the UK because the filming isnt specifically linked to the UK in any particular way.
4. MARKETING STRATEGIES
The best ways to promote our film would be through the internet, putting adverts on popular
websites that appeal to teenagers/youth, for example such as Facebook or twitter.
We would not advertise on TV as it would cost and our film does not have any big name actors in
the film so it would not appeal to viewers.
Another way we would advertise is posters at places which teenagers go such as connections and
the cinema. We could also put posters up around the college to make other students aware of our
film.
Release strategies
We would release trailers and put them around the internet on websites such as youtube and twitter,
this would make people want to watch our film if they liked the trailer.
