SBEBA is the practice of Evidence Based Medicine in Ayurveda . It is for the first tiime that a systematically standardised scientific decision making methodology is developed in this system of Medicine. SBEBA is developed by Drs. Rajkumar and Remya Krishnan
2. INNOVATIVE MODEL OF HEALTHCARE DELIVERY
Introducing an entirely new model of
healthcare delivery and learning how to
employ the same present with many of
following challenges:
Most physicians of Ayurveda feel lethargic to
learn science. They are mostly interested in
selling medicines and treatments and make
money.
3. Key components of SBEBA
• Science based evidence
• Science led mode of evidence appraisal
• Science led mode of evidence application.
4. Triple aim objectives of SBEBA
• Improved quality of treatment
• Improved accuracy of treatment
• Reduced cost of treatment.
• With the knowledge in SBEBA in a patient with
RA, the clinician can assess the state and stage of
the disease, patient and reach the pertient
decision in diagnosis and management . Such an
approach combined with physician’s intellect
enables him to best predict whether the
treatment will produce the intended effects
5. Superior to EBM of Modern Medicine
• SBEBA is superior to quality of EBM in Modern
Medicine.
• With the practice of EBM in Modern Medicine,
whethera particular treatment will produce a mix
of some benefits are risks in a group of subjects
are only possible to be known but with SBEBA
how and why the particular diagnostic and
treatment decision is accurate for particular
situation in particular subject could be explained
and reasoned based on science
6. WHY SBEBA ?
• To improve the quality, accuracy and cost of diagnosis
and treatment in Ayurveda.
• It is currently impossible for physicians to recollect all
the science led evidence based decision making
guidelines, policies and reminders explained scattered
in the samhithas and translate them effectively to
variable patient situations.
• Currently there is no training in any Ayurveda medical
colleges regarding the methodologies for evidence
based decision making which science led.
7. • Offer physicians a realistic way to constantly
learn and update their knowledge and wisdom
in standardised science led evidence based
guidelines and principles in old and newly
emerging diseases.
• Evidence based guidelines once established in
minds would greatly reduce the time and
effort necessary to fill the wide gap between
samhithas and mode of practice
8. WHY SBEBA
• SBEBA improves the transparency of scientific
reasoning behind decision making policies and
increase the validity by justicfication of decisions
on the basis of science based knowledge .
• Although Indians are health concious, they are
not healthy . With SBEBA, rate of medical and
surgical emergencies rapidly decline , the need
for inpatient treatments will reduce as the
clinicians are equipped with the knowledge of
best on the target health care practices agreed
upon by Ayurvedic science based standards
9. WHY SBEBA
• The most important reason for SBEBA interest
is that it works accurately and amazingly fast
in comparison to currently undergoing
empirical health care practices in Ayurveda.
• There are documented clinical case studies in
large numbers to substantiate this.
10. How clinicians get inspired to learn
SBEBA ?
• Once physicians are provided knowledge and
training in SBEBA approach of acute diseas
diagnosis and management and when they
start getting highly variable and accurate
results from that of what they get previously
in their regular practice, they become excited
and interested to learn SBEBA.
11. SBEBA- Urgent need healthcare transformation
• Unprecedented level of complexity and
confusions in physician minds get solved
effectively.
• Inadequate outcomes in clinical practice get
improved fast.
• Unacceptably high level of harm by today’s
irrational practices in Ayurveda gets terminated.
• Out of control cost in Ayurveda is cut off.
• Wastage of raw drugs which is immensely high
today will be prevented to a large extent.
12. Goal of SBEBA WISDOM SERIES
• For participants to empower in science and
science based Medicine of Ayurveda .
• They will also learn to effectively
communicate the need for crucial change in
this new value based health care environment
by pertinently employing science based
standards in health care guidelines
13. SBEBA WISDOM SERIES
• No passive learning environment
• Classes are limited to 40 participants learning
through discussions, interactive sessions and quiz
programmes.
• Fcaulty members are initiators of SBEBA
themselves and experts who will lead discussions
and presentations .
• Participants can interact with them anytime to
ask questions and also between sessions through
calls or mails
14. Hands on training programme
• Trying to learn entirely new techniques to
understand and apply science in patients
through online is impossible.
• That is why hands on activities which range
from quiz programmes including clinical
problem based questions and to demonstrate
science led guidelines and principles are
included in SBEBA learning series
15. • We conduct SBEBA training programmes as
series in every alternate months
