Most Powerful Career Advice
In the article The Most Powerful Career Advice That Every College Student Needs To Know,
Amber Stanley gives several quotes with advice for students during their college years. She quotes
well known figures like Albert Einstein, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Winston Churchill; while also
giving new names and points of view. Stanley provides insight on what life in college might be from
her own personal experience in college. She choose to write this article because she noticed that a
lot of people go out of college and agree to the first job they are offered. Stanley noticed that people
were forgetting their career goals and instead focusing on just surviving and getting money.
This article spoke to me because it's a good idea to read powerful ideas

Tuesdays With Morrie's Advice Essay
Everyone has been given advice at some point in their life, I know I have, but sometime it is given
to in some of the weirdest ways possible. For me advice comes for mostly two people, my dad and
my friends dad. My dad told me to do the best I can in whatever I do. This stuck with me because he
said whatever I want to do. This made me feel that I can do whatever I want. I guess the real piece of
advice is "Do things to the fullest." For people this can be hard to do, but for me this is really hard. I
take the easy way instead of the hard way. My friends dad, who also the leader at my youth group
tells me to bring someone into whatever we are doing. He tells me that I can make a difference in
any person's life. I love that he said that because he made me feel like I am important in people's life.
At youth group I try to include more and more people in whatever activity we do. In the book
Tuesdays with Morrie, Morrie gives out many pieces of advice throughout the story, and some of the
advice doesn't work for me. Some pieces I just need to work on more. Morries advice works for me
and for my family and I, but one piece I need to work on more.

When I was younger, my uncle died when I was eight years old. My mom was devastated. A
couple times we feel like he still is here with us. My mom told me a story during christmas time
when all the ornament started clicking together in the middle of the night. When she walked out of
her room only the drum ornament, the one for my uncle, was moved. I still think that he is still with
us. He keeps giving signals to my family that he is still with

Financial Advice Essay
In the early 1980s, there was an economic downturn in Australia, to find out the cause of this event,
the Australian government has established a financial system survey in the year 1996. This survey
was conducted by a businessman named Stan Wallis. He published his investigation report in 1997,
titled the final report of the deregulation of financial services; it commonly referred to as the 'Wallis
Report'. Wallis found that the most suitable structure for Australia will then include two regulators:
one who is responsible for prudential regulation of any entity that needs to be cautiously supervised;
another one is the market and management of any financial products that are provided to the
Australian consumers.
In 28 June 2012, the...show more content...
c. Consumer perceptions: there are evidence shows that some people feel financial advices are out
of their reach. Therefore, they will not try to seek financial advice. d. Consumer mistrust of
financial planners: due to the corporate collapses caused by the financial scandals, lots of people
do not trust financial planners any more. They consider financial planners as liars. This increases
the biased opinion for financial advice. e. Access to general advice and information: some financial
industries do not provide enough general advice and factual information to their consumers. The
scale of general advice and financial information is less than what it should be. f. Financial literacy:
in some area or financial related topic, consumers have limited engagement with financial matters
and they do not seeking for financial advice. This is the gaps in financial literacy.
The issues for people to access to financial advice cause Australian Government decide to change in
regulations. The recent FOFA reforms focus on improving the quality of financial advice and lessen
the risk of customers paying ongoing fees unknowingly for services they are not getting (Koremans,
S, 2011).
In order to achieve the goal of improve the quality of financial advice, there are some changes made
to the financial planners: 1. Best interest duty: the financial advice provider must always act in the
best interest of their clients, providing

Advice – Is it Better to Give than to Receive?
Advice and the language it's given in can work only if the person in need of it can handle what is
being said to them and accept it. Otherwise it just goes in one ear and out the other. Advice to me
needs to be spoken in a calm and rational way or I tend not to listen to it. It can be advice from
parents, relatives, friends, colleagues, or just about anyone, even myself.
Advice given to me when I was younger was a lot different than when I got older. I tended not to
listen to my parents. At nine and ten, they gave me an allowance. I saw it as money to run out and
spend on candy. They saw it as a learning opportunity and a chance to instill a value system in me.
At first I didn't take...show more content...
As I got older, the advice I sought was more critical. Especially during my teenage years. At this
age, people warned me of the danger in underage drinking. I took their advice and stayed out of
trouble. Mike Perpich and Jackie Brooks talked about this in their papers also. Their questions
about underage drinking were the same kind I had. They followed the advice from teachers and the
outcome was positive. Even if Mike lost some friends, the end result was something he could be
proud of.
Getting older has shown me the advice I receive is harder to sink in. In Jackie's story it is easy to
relate to her frustration with her builder. I don't think anyone wants to be told what will and will not
work. The builders advice worked though, because he suggested things and let her realize the
problem on her own.
I recently had a similar experience happen to me. My parents bought some land with an existing
house on it. The house was in desperate need of repair beyond the norm. After much persuasion on
my part, my dad tore the building down. It took a lot of humility on his part to admit he was wrong
and take my advice. The advice was slightly hazed though because of the new house idea I liked so
much.
At my present age, I've had to give more and more advice. Is it because I'm getting older and know
more things? I have no idea. But giving it has taught me to be understanding, compassionate and
learn to be a good listener. It is a good feeling when someone takes

The best advice ever given

The Best Advice Ever Given In life there are many challenges that may either make or break a
person. The journey to overcome these challenges is often made easier by a handful of useful
advice. This advice doesn't necessarily have to come from a much wiser person. It's the advice
itself that is labeled as being wise. Just because someone gives another person wise advice, it
doesn't necessarily mean that the task at hand will immediately be overcome. The receiver must
use the advice willingly for it to be effective. Some of the best advice I have ever been given was to
never burn bridges. My father gave me this advice when I was a teenager. He found out the hard way
that burning...show more content...
I also know that my father's advice would have been useless if I wouldn't have executed it and just
ignored his words. Being so thankful for the power of advice, I have promised myself to take any
advice that is free and if I have overcome an obstacle someone else is struggling with, I will always
offer my fair share of advice. In my interview with Hope she told me the greatest advice she ever
received came from her father. The advice was never to dwell on things that would not benefit
her. He gave her the advice because she would stress about friends who were one sided and just
dragged her down. In her life this helped her to drown out the negative and focus on the goals and
the good things in her life. I can totally relate to this advice as I've dealt with friends who were also
negative and one sided. To move forward from negative people is a big step for anyone to make and
will benefit the person for the best. This is good advice for anyone to take in a similar situation.
As I would give someone the advice I have learned, this is advice I would take away and use to my
advantage. In my second interview with Cassie I learned some very valuable things. Cassie told
me the best advice she ever received was no matter what happens, keep going, things might seem
bad, but it's not over yet and hard work pays off given by a family friend. Cassie says her family
friend, Nikki, gave her the

Essay about Advice to Youth and Mark Twain
Mark Twain, known at the time to be a humorous author, wrote a speech on 'Advice to Youth.'
Twain gives several pieces of advice all with a twist of honesty attached. The way this speech was
written suggest that it would have been delivered at a graduation ceremony. Perhaps Twain was
asked to speak at a college graduation ceremony and was going to deliver this speech. It is the
perfect speech to relate to youth. Twain's advice begins with "always obey your parents..." (Norton,
550) which is sound advice. The rule of obeying one's parents comes right from the Ten
Commandments. Obeying one's parents is a rule that is as old as time, engraved in everyday
teachings. Twain twists this idea and adds "... when they are present" (Norton, 550) saying...show

Twain is relating to the target audience. Twain is getting into the shoes of a youth in their era.
This is one way to get the youth to listen and respond in a positive way. Twain writes every
sentence positively then ends sarcastically. "If a person offends you ... hit him with a brick"
(Norton, 550). This line is hilarious. Twain is telling young adults it is ok to act out aggressively,
just wait for the appropriate time and place. Also, if it is the wrong person you act out against
just apologize and everything will be fine. The lark is commonly used as a symbol in a variety of
ways. Twain uses the lark in the part about going to bed early and waking up early. Waking up
with the sun is the normal time to rise for the year this was written. Depending on the time of year
the sun usually rises at about seven in the morning. Twain says to wake up with a lark is
respectable but "you can easily train him to get up at half past nine" (Norton, 550). Meaning on
average this would give you an extra two and a half hours to sleep in. This is evidence showing
that Twain is writing to teens or college students because they are usually the ones who like to sleep
the day away. Mark Twain's advice on lying is do not get caught. Twain says "once caught, you can
never again be, in the eyes of the good and the pure" (Norton, 550) Meaning once a person lies, that
person is a liar. Branded like cattle, forever having a mark of the liar. It literally scars a

Analysis Of Mark Twain's 'Advice To Youth'
In Mark Twain's, "Advice to Youth," Twain educates the younger generations by providing his
viewpoint of how people of their age should conduct themselves ranging from simple words of
wisdom to instructions on how to interact with others in order to sculpt a generation more
knowledgeable and intelligent than his own. When President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote, "Joint
Address to Congress Leading to a Declaration of War Against Japan," he announced that resulting
from provocations from Japan, it was mandatory that the United States of America retaliated by
engaging in a war against Japan in order to protect the American citizens. In her essay titled, "A
New Egalitarian Life Style," Gloria Steinem insists that women and black citizens have been
treated inadequately starting from when the patriarchy began to reign in order to urge people to
strive for equality across the board. However, in "Of the Coming of John" by W.E.B. Du Bois, the
author relates an experience of a black man who had received higher education and as a result
could no longer live in complacency with his lower status in society in order to urge the African
Americans of the time period to go to college and receive education themselves.
This quote appears within the introductory section of the novel when Lane, one of the central
characters, must move to a hospital that doubles as a boarding school to receive treatment for his
drug–resistant case of tuberculosis. He had just seen Sadie, a girl who he used to go

Big Nurse Advice Essay
Advice; I would advise Mcmurphy to show all he has got and fight with all his power against the
Big Nurse by opposing her. I admit before, I believed that he should have not acted out and kept
quiet and have one master plan for taking down Big Nurse. However now readers know that it is
not Big Nurse that Mcmurphy is fighting, but rather it is a system. He is already a target and he
cannot fall back and start to follow the system. Big Nurse is not going to forgive him for what he
has done so far, it is too late because now too many patients depend on him. Even if he apologizes
and say he made a mistake Big Nurse is not going to forgive him, she is going to get rid of him and
all the hopes and inspiration the other patients have for him and themselves. In this part of the novel,

Both Chief and McMurphy being taken to disturbed after the shower scene is important because
it tests their physical and mental states. If they do not overcome the disturbed ward, and the
electric shock treatment, the other patients' hope will be gone. Mcmurphy says he will not give
in, and even tries to make a joke where he is about to get electric shock "Anointest my head with
conductant. Do I get a crown of thorns?" (p. 270), trying to lighten up the scene. But Big Nurse is
going to be easy on him, she will do her best to weaken him. She even thinks of a way to weaken
him and have the other patients hope they gained from him weaken too " as long as he was on the
ward for them to see she would be giving him shock every time he came out of it"(pg 282). I advice
Mcmurphy to endure the pain and not show a sign of weakness. Murphy might act as if the treatment
did not affect him but Chief can tell that the treatments are affecting him"He insisted it wasn't hurting
him. He wouldn't even take his capsules. But every time that loudspeaker called for him to forgo

Good Advice is Hard to Find Essay
Good Advice is Hard to Find
Advice is something that is very important in my life and in the life of most others. It allows us to
ask another person their feelings and experiences about certain situations they have encountered in
his/hers lifetime and then attempt use that information to help yourself.
Good advice however is hard to come by. My dad has many stories that begin with, "Well when I
was your age..." This is an example of bad advice. It is hard to relate what he experienced to my life,
because of the generations of difference.
Good advice to me is something that I ask for, and in my past, has come from people who know
me extremely well. I agree with most in that good advice can come from anyone, but the best has
come...show more content...
For example, my friend Ryan usually tells me, "This has happened to you and now you need to do
this." No long drawn out story about his childhood, just the facts on what he thinks I should do. If
he give me advice about something and I say, "Oh yea... huh..." that would be the feeling good
advice.
I also think advice that is good needs to cover the whole spectrum of repercussions if you decide to
take this advice. For example if I were to ask someone about buying a car. The best advice would be
this car is reliable, affordable and in good shape. Instead of this car is a good deal and you can pick
up women in it, and forgetting to mention that it is real likely that this car is going to leave me
stranded at the side of the road. I have really liked advice in my past that includes something I did
not previously know. Some fact or tidbit about my situation really helps me. Another idea that seems
important is that good advice is something you have to remember. If it easily relates to what you are
trying to accomplish then this is not difficult.
Many people in our class have said that you must take the advice given and see if it works before it
is to be taken as good advice. I don't believe you have to take advice for it to be good. I have not
taken advice in my past and I wished I had because I realized later that it would have been a better
decision. I have also realized in some situations that the best advice does not have to

Advice Essay Your friends, family, and the world around you offer many ideas and advice to you,
but how much should you accept? Sometimes trusting an experienced, trusted, or older
individual's advice can be better because sometimes people offer and give false or unreliable
advice. You should take advice from your parents or teachers who can help you and know more.
You should also probably listen to the advice of experienced people who have lived longer and
know more. The best way to go is probably taking advice from an experienced or trusted individual.
Because, of course, they have lived longer, they have experienced more in life, and they have
learned from their mistakes and actions. They could also have been in the same situation you

Advice for Dealing With Bullying Essay
Advice for Dealing With Bullying
"If you are worried discuss this with a teacher."
Bullying is not easy to define. Sometimes it involves hitting or kicking. But threats, teasing, and
taunting are more common and can be more damaging.
The word 'bullying' is used to describe many different types of behaviour ranging from teasing or
deliberately leaving an individual out of a social gathering or ignoring them, to serious assaults and
abuse. Sometimes it is an individual who is doing the bullying and sometimes it is a group.
The important thing is not the action but the effect on the victim. No–one should ever underestimate
the fear that a bullied child feels.
This advice sums up the most important actions to take –

This all happened in primary 6 and I have lost nearly all my self–confidence and hate being on my

Adherence to Medical Advice Essay
Adherence to Medical Advice a) Adherence to medical advice depends on various factors.
Psychologists have carried out research and experiments to find the factors into compliance. Kent
and Dalgleish (1996) had claimed that perceived seriousness of illness of the mother was more
important than that of the doctors, this meant that mothers who felt their children were more
susceptible to illness were more likely to adhere to a medical regime set out by the doctor, and attend
the appointments made than those mothers who had a different conviction. The study of Turk and
Meinchenbaum (1991) supports the idea that patients are less likely to adhere due to the potential
side effects of...show more content...
Payne and Walker (1996) advocated the fact that patients who have a low self–esteem are more
likely to value what the doctor tells them and thus as a result more likely to adhere as a doctor in
their perspective is a person of high esteem. The older you get the more likely you are to forget
what the doctor has said, Yung et al (1998) showed that age can have an affect on adherence rates,
thuss the older people have more difficulty in recalling information related to their medical
conditions and the associated treatmeant required.
.
Giving people the opportunity to raise concerns about medication is also important. This is
consistent with research on the determinants of adherence which tells us that patients typically only
follow recommendations they really believe in and those they actually have the ability to carry
out.3 While many people, particularly parents of young children, may be concerned about possible
side effects of medication, it is equally important to reinforce the possible risks of not taking
medication. Providing opportunities for discussion and choice about medication type and delivery
device is a strategy to encourage greater involvement in asthma self–management and improve
adherence.
Adherence is best with the lowest number of medications and the lowest dosage intervals. Improve
patient recall by providing

Freshman Advice For College
Incoming Freshman Advice
When I started high school, I didn't get much academic advice. Everybody told me "have fun, it
flies by" and boy were they right. What they didn't tell me was the academic part. If I could go back
in time, I wish I would have known and understood how much you're freshman year really
matters. In my experience, I goofed off in most of my classes freshman year and got the grades I
worked for, which were not the best. Nobody told me that when colleges are looking at you, they
can go all the way back to freshman year and see your grades. I always figured I could have fun and
do whatever I wanted and just clean up my act by my sophomore year to prepare myself for college.
If I could give an incoming freshman

Definition Essay On Best Advice
What is the worst advice someone has given you? What is the best advice someone gave you?
The definition of advice is to guide someone in a certain direction. I think the best advice that I
can give to Samantha Shirley is to always be respectful, be responsible, and don't stop being kind.
If you want to get somewhere in life you have to be respectful. If you are the boss you are
respectful same as if you are the worker. Being respectful is the first step to greatness. If you can't
show respect then you should be somewhere that doesn't care about respect which is nowhere. You
should not have to ask how to be respectful, you should teach yourself. If a boss was trying to pick
between two people to fire and one of them was very respectful

The final thing I was told was there is a lot of homework, there is no homework if you use your

details.
First, studying in high school is very important. There was one time I did not study for Hucks test,

  • 3. Tuesdays With Morrie's Advice Essay Everyone has been given advice at some point in their life, I know I have, but sometime it is given to in some of the weirdest ways possible. For me advice comes for mostly two people, my dad and my friends dad. My dad told me to do the best I can in whatever I do. This stuck with me because he said whatever I want to do. This made me feel that I can do whatever I want. I guess the real piece of advice is "Do things to the fullest." For people this can be hard to do, but for me this is really hard. I take the easy way instead of the hard way. My friends dad, who also the leader at my youth group tells me to bring someone into whatever we are doing. He tells me that I can make a difference in any person's life. I love that he said that because he made me feel like I am important in people's life. At youth group I try to include more and more people in whatever activity we do. In the book Tuesdays with Morrie, Morrie gives out many pieces of advice throughout the story, and some of the advice doesn't work for me. Some pieces I just need to work on more. Morries advice works for me and for my family and I, but one piece I need to work on more. Morries quote from...show more content... Morrie and Mitch talk about the "Perfect Day." This is the the thirteenth tuesday they talk. Morrie says," Death ends a life, not a relationship. This quote means Just because someone dies, doesn't mean that there isn't something still there. Relationships with people after they die is not stupid. When I was younger, my uncle died when I was eight years old. My mom was devastated. A couple times we feel like he still is here with us. My mom told me a story during christmas time when all the ornament started clicking together in the middle of the night. When she walked out of her room only the drum ornament, the one for my uncle, was moved. I still think that he is still with us. He keeps giving signals to my family that he is still with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Financial Advice Essay In the early 1980s, there was an economic downturn in Australia, to find out the cause of this event, the Australian government has established a financial system survey in the year 1996. This survey was conducted by a businessman named Stan Wallis. He published his investigation report in 1997, titled the final report of the deregulation of financial services; it commonly referred to as the 'Wallis Report'. Wallis found that the most suitable structure for Australia will then include two regulators: one who is responsible for prudential regulation of any entity that needs to be cautiously supervised; another one is the market and management of any financial products that are provided to the Australian consumers. In 28 June 2012, the...show more content... c. Consumer perceptions: there are evidence shows that some people feel financial advices are out of their reach. Therefore, they will not try to seek financial advice. d. Consumer mistrust of financial planners: due to the corporate collapses caused by the financial scandals, lots of people do not trust financial planners any more. They consider financial planners as liars. This increases the biased opinion for financial advice. e. Access to general advice and information: some financial industries do not provide enough general advice and factual information to their consumers. The scale of general advice and financial information is less than what it should be. f. Financial literacy: in some area or financial related topic, consumers have limited engagement with financial matters and they do not seeking for financial advice. This is the gaps in financial literacy. The issues for people to access to financial advice cause Australian Government decide to change in regulations. The recent FOFA reforms focus on improving the quality of financial advice and lessen the risk of customers paying ongoing fees unknowingly for services they are not getting (Koremans, S, 2011). In order to achieve the goal of improve the quality of financial advice, there are some changes made to the financial planners: 1. • 5. Advice Advice – Is it Better to Give than to Receive? Advice and the language it's given in can work only if the person in need of it can handle what is being said to them and accept it. Otherwise it just goes in one ear and out the other. Advice to me needs to be spoken in a calm and rational way or I tend not to listen to it. It can be advice from parents, relatives, friends, colleagues, or just about anyone, even myself. Advice given to me when I was younger was a lot different than when I got older. I tended not to listen to my parents. At nine and ten, they gave me an allowance. I saw it as money to run out and spend on candy. They saw it as a learning opportunity and a chance to instill a value system in me. At first I didn't take...show more content... As I got older, the advice I sought was more critical. Especially during my teenage years. At this age, people warned me of the danger in underage drinking. I took their advice and stayed out of trouble. Mike Perpich and Jackie Brooks talked about this in their papers also. Their questions about underage drinking were the same kind I had. They followed the advice from teachers and the outcome was positive. Even if Mike lost some friends, the end result was something he could be proud of. Getting older has shown me the advice I receive is harder to sink in. In Jackie's story it is easy to relate to her frustration with her builder. I don't think anyone wants to be told what will and will not work. The builders advice worked though, because he suggested things and let her realize the problem on her own. I recently had a similar experience happen to me. My parents bought some land with an existing house on it. The house was in desperate need of repair beyond the norm. After much persuasion on my part, my dad tore the building down. It took a lot of humility on his part to admit he was wrong and take my advice. The advice was slightly hazed though because of the new house idea I liked so much. At my present age, I've had to give more and more advice. Is it because I'm getting older and know more things? I have no idea. But giving it has taught me to be understanding, compassionate and learn to be a good listener. It is a good feeling when someone takes Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. The best advice ever given Dr. Cheryl English 1301.86.87 September 25 The Best Advice Ever Given In life there are many challenges that may either make or break a person. The journey to overcome these challenges is often made easier by a handful of useful advice. This advice doesn't necessarily have to come from a much wiser person. It's the advice itself that is labeled as being wise. Just because someone gives another person wise advice, it doesn't necessarily mean that the task at hand will immediately be overcome. The receiver must use the advice willingly for it to be effective. Some of the best advice I have ever been given was to never burn bridges. My father gave me this advice when I was a teenager. He found out the hard way that burning...show more content... I also know that my father's advice would have been useless if I wouldn't have executed it and just ignored his words. Being so thankful for the power of advice, I have promised myself to take any advice that is free and if I have overcome an obstacle someone else is struggling with, I will always offer my fair share of advice. In my interview with Hope she told me the greatest advice she ever received came from her father. The advice was never to dwell on things that would not benefit her. He gave her the advice because she would stress about friends who were one sided and just dragged her down. In her life this helped her to drown out the negative and focus on the goals and the good things in her life. I can totally relate to this advice as I've dealt with friends who were also negative and one sided. To move forward from negative people is a big step for anyone to make and will benefit the person for the best. This is good advice for anyone to take in a similar situation. As I would give someone the advice I have learned, this is advice I would take away and use to my advantage. In my second interview with Cassie I learned some very valuable things. Cassie told me the best advice she ever received was no matter what happens, keep going, things might seem bad, but it's not over yet and hard work pays off given by a family friend. Cassie says her family friend, Nikki, gave her the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Essay about Advice to Youth and Mark Twain Mark Twain, known at the time to be a humorous author, wrote a speech on 'Advice to Youth.' Twain gives several pieces of advice all with a twist of honesty attached. The way this speech was written suggest that it would have been delivered at a graduation ceremony. Perhaps Twain was asked to speak at a college graduation ceremony and was going to deliver this speech. It is the perfect speech to relate to youth. Twain's advice begins with "always obey your parents..." (Norton, 550) which is sound advice. The rule of obeying one's parents comes right from the Ten Commandments. Obeying one's parents is a rule that is as old as time, engraved in everyday teachings. Twain twists this idea and adds "... when they are present" (Norton, 550) saying...show more content... Twain is relating to the target audience. Twain is getting into the shoes of a youth in their era. This is one way to get the youth to listen and respond in a positive way. Twain writes every sentence positively then ends sarcastically. "If a person offends you ... hit him with a brick" (Norton, 550). This line is hilarious. Twain is telling young adults it is ok to act out aggressively, just wait for the appropriate time and place. Also, if it is the wrong person you act out against just apologize and everything will be fine. The lark is commonly used as a symbol in a variety of ways. Twain uses the lark in the part about going to bed early and waking up early. Waking up with the sun is the normal time to rise for the year this was written. Depending on the time of year the sun usually rises at about seven in the morning. Twain says to wake up with a lark is respectable but "you can easily train him to get up at half past nine" (Norton, 550). Meaning on average this would give you an extra two and a half hours to sleep in. This is evidence showing that Twain is writing to teens or college students because they are usually the ones who like to sleep the day away. Mark Twain's advice on lying is do not get caught. Twain says "once caught, you can never again be, in the eyes of the good and the pure" (Norton, 550) Meaning once a person lies, that person is a liar. Branded like cattle, forever having a mark of the liar. It literally scars a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Analysis Of Mark Twain's 'Advice To Youth' In Mark Twain's, "Advice to Youth," Twain educates the younger generations by providing his viewpoint of how people of their age should conduct themselves ranging from simple words of wisdom to instructions on how to interact with others in order to sculpt a generation more knowledgeable and intelligent than his own. When President Franklin D. Roosevelt wrote, "Joint Address to Congress Leading to a Declaration of War Against Japan," he announced that resulting from provocations from Japan, it was mandatory that the United States of America retaliated by engaging in a war against Japan in order to protect the American citizens. In her essay titled, "A New Egalitarian Life Style," Gloria Steinem insists that women and black citizens have been treated inadequately starting from when the patriarchy began to reign in order to urge people to strive for equality across the board. However, in "Of the Coming of John" by W.E.B. Du Bois, the author relates an experience of a black man who had received higher education and as a result could no longer live in complacency with his lower status in society in order to urge the African Americans of the time period to go to college and receive education themselves. This quote appears within the introductory section of the novel when Lane, one of the central characters, must move to a hospital that doubles as a boarding school to receive treatment for his drug–resistant case of tuberculosis. He had just seen Sadie, a girl who he used to go Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Big Nurse Advice Essay Advice; I would advise Mcmurphy to show all he has got and fight with all his power against the Big Nurse by opposing her. I admit before, I believed that he should have not acted out and kept quiet and have one master plan for taking down Big Nurse. However now readers know that it is not Big Nurse that Mcmurphy is fighting, but rather it is a system. He is already a target and he cannot fall back and start to follow the system. Big Nurse is not going to forgive him for what he has done so far, it is too late because now too many patients depend on him. Even if he apologizes and say he made a mistake Big Nurse is not going to forgive him, she is going to get rid of him and all the hopes and inspiration the other patients have for him and themselves. In this part of the novel, Big Nurse takes McMurphy and Chief to the disturbed...show more content... Both Chief and McMurphy being taken to disturbed after the shower scene is important because it tests their physical and mental states. If they do not overcome the disturbed ward, and the electric shock treatment, the other patients' hope will be gone. Mcmurphy says he will not give in, and even tries to make a joke where he is about to get electric shock "Anointest my head with conductant. Do I get a crown of thorns?" (p. 270), trying to lighten up the scene. But Big Nurse is going to be easy on him, she will do her best to weaken him. She even thinks of a way to weaken him and have the other patients hope they gained from him weaken too " as long as he was on the ward for them to see she would be giving him shock every time he came out of it"(pg 282). I advice Mcmurphy to endure the pain and not show a sign of weakness. Murphy might act as if the treatment did not affect him but Chief can tell that the treatments are affecting him"He insisted it wasn't hurting him. He wouldn't even take his capsules. • 10. Good Advice is Hard to Find Essay Good Advice is Hard to Find Advice is something that is very important in my life and in the life of most others. It allows us to ask another person their feelings and experiences about certain situations they have encountered in his/hers lifetime and then attempt use that information to help yourself. Good advice however is hard to come by. My dad has many stories that begin with, "Well when I was your age..." This is an example of bad advice. It is hard to relate what he experienced to my life, because of the generations of difference. Good advice to me is something that I ask for, and in my past, has come from people who know me extremely well. I agree with most in that good advice can come from anyone, but the best has come...show more content... For example, my friend Ryan usually tells me, "This has happened to you and now you need to do this." No long drawn out story about his childhood, just the facts on what he thinks I should do. If he give me advice about something and I say, "Oh yea... huh..." that would be the feeling good advice. I also think advice that is good needs to cover the whole spectrum of repercussions if you decide to take this advice. For example if I were to ask someone about buying a car. The best advice would be this car is reliable, affordable and in good shape. Instead of this car is a good deal and you can pick up women in it, and forgetting to mention that it is real likely that this car is going to leave me stranded at the side of the road. I have really liked advice in my past that includes something I did not previously know. Some fact or tidbit about my situation really helps me. Another idea that seems important is that good advice is something you have to remember. If it easily relates to what you are trying to accomplish then this is not difficult. Many people in our class have said that you must take the advice given and see if it works before it is to be taken as good advice. I don't believe you have to take advice for it to be good. I have not taken advice in my past and I wished I had because I realized later that it would have been a better decision. I have also realized in some situations that the best advice does not have to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Definition Essay On Advice Advice Essay Your friends, family, and the world around you offer many ideas and advice to you, but how much should you accept? Sometimes trusting an experienced, trusted, or older individual's advice can be better because sometimes people offer and give false or unreliable advice. You should take advice from your parents or teachers who can help you and know more. You should also probably listen to the advice of experienced people who have lived longer and know more. The best way to go is probably taking advice from an experienced or trusted individual. Because, of course, they have lived longer, they have experienced more in life, and they have learned from their mistakes and actions. • 12. Advice for Dealing With Bullying Essay Advice for Dealing With Bullying "If you are worried discuss this with a teacher." Bullying is not easy to define. Sometimes it involves hitting or kicking. But threats, teasing, and taunting are more common and can be more damaging. The word 'bullying' is used to describe many different types of behaviour ranging from teasing or deliberately leaving an individual out of a social gathering or ignoring them, to serious assaults and abuse. Sometimes it is an individual who is doing the bullying and sometimes it is a group. The important thing is not the action but the effect on the victim. • 13. Adherence to Medical Advice Essay Adherence to Medical Advice a) Adherence to medical advice depends on various factors. Psychologists have carried out research and experiments to find the factors into compliance. Kent and Dalgleish (1996) had claimed that perceived seriousness of illness of the mother was more important than that of the doctors, this meant that mothers who felt their children were more susceptible to illness were more likely to adhere to a medical regime set out by the doctor, and attend the appointments made than those mothers who had a different conviction. The study of Turk and Meinchenbaum (1991) supports the idea that patients are less likely to adhere due to the potential side effects of...show more content... Payne and Walker (1996) advocated the fact that patients who have a low self–esteem are more likely to value what the doctor tells them and thus as a result more likely to adhere as a doctor in their perspective is a person of high esteem. The older you get the more likely you are to forget what the doctor has said, Yung et al (1998) showed that age can have an affect on adherence rates, thuss the older people have more difficulty in recalling information related to their medical conditions and the associated treatmeant required. . Giving people the opportunity to raise concerns about medication is also important. This is consistent with research on the determinants of adherence which tells us that patients typically only follow recommendations they really believe in and those they actually have the ability to carry out.3 While many people, particularly parents of young children, may be concerned about possible side effects of medication, it is equally important to reinforce the possible risks of not taking medication. Providing opportunities for discussion and choice about medication type and delivery device is a strategy to encourage greater involvement in asthma self–management and improve adherence. Adherence is best with the lowest number of medications and the lowest dosage intervals. Improve patient recall by providing Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In April 2016, I was approached by the Owner of the Business and was asked, if I would like to invest...show more content... I was on sick for approximately 3 months and upon obtaining the sick notes, I submitted these to the Company, this I thought would be a stress–free procedure, however, I received no Sick Pay at all and wasn't able to get any further information. This continued for several months and I simply had enough, upon December 2016, I received a Solicitors letter, of whom is representing the Owner in question, this stated that an IVA has been called in to take over all debt and will be in touch, in due course. At this stage, I was a little optimistic and thought I would let Legal take control of this matter. Several months went by and I received no further response and I am still waiting for correspondence. I don't know if I am entitled to know who the IVA is, but I certainly haven't been given any information and upon enquiring this, I was told by the owner that they will speak to the IVA, but never received a reply. Ironically, it hasn't stopped and I have felt obliged to lend my boss further money, this resulted in me taking out 2 overdrafts and 4 credit cards. I don't know why I just feel like it's a good thing to do and it's helping somebody else. During my time at The Barker Baker, I also obtained phone contracts in my name for the owner and her partner, of which payments are being missed. I have within the last few months, stopped lending Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Freshman Advice For College Incoming Freshman Advice When I started high school, I didn't get much academic advice. Everybody told me "have fun, it flies by" and boy were they right. What they didn't tell me was the academic part. If I could go back in time, I wish I would have known and understood how much you're freshman year really matters. In my experience, I goofed off in most of my classes freshman year and got the grades I worked for, which were not the best. Nobody told me that when colleges are looking at you, they can go all the way back to freshman year and see your grades. I always figured I could have fun and do whatever I wanted and just clean up my act by my sophomore year to prepare myself for college. If I could give an incoming freshman Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Definition Essay On Best Advice What is the worst advice someone has given you? What is the best advice someone gave you? The definition of advice is to guide someone in a certain direction. I think the best advice that I can give to Samantha Shirley is to always be respectful, be responsible, and don't stop being kind. If you want to get somewhere in life you have to be respectful. If you are the boss you are respectful same as if you are the worker. Being respectful is the first step to greatness. If you can't show respect then you should be somewhere that doesn't care about respect which is nowhere. You should not have to ask how to be respectful, you should teach yourself. If a boss was trying to pick between two people to fire and one of them was very respectful Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Freshman Advice Coming into high school as a freshman scared and not knowing what to do was one of the many thoughts that were in my mind, but now as a senior that is ready to graduate in a couple of weeks I wish I could have known a couple of things before starting my journey till this day. I have some important advice from my past past experiences to you as a freshman is: Starting a sport to play, Getting involved with clubs, and Being social. As my first advice for any freshman is to participate in a sport you would like and would feel comfortable to be a part of. Just like myself, I joined the football, track and soccer teams my freshman year, but I was not that good. I just wanted to be a part of a team that taught me many valuable lessons, but the most Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Freshman Advice Essay Freshman Advice Only 89 percent of students actually enjoy school. I was told in eighth grade that freshman Friday's were every Friday and students would get shoved into lockers. Another thing I was told was teachers are really mean and they don't know how to have fun. That is not true. The final thing I was told was there is a lot of homework, there is no homework if you use your time wisely. High school is and enjoyable and happy place if incoming ninth graders can remember details. First, studying in high school is very important. There was one time I did not study for Hucks test, and it did not result in a good grade. He remembers numbers really well, so I asked Huck what did I get? I heard him say six right. That is a D. I knew I did Get more content on HelpWriting.net
