Heart Trek Ministry
6. The Ultimate Goal,
according to Jesus Christ:
To Love the
Lord your God
with all your
heart, all your
mind and all
your soul.
7. The Ministry Of Jesus: By the Spirit
to bring Healing
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me To preach
the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to
heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim
liberty to the captives And recovery of
sight to the blind, To set at liberty those
who are oppressed;.“ Luke 4:18
7
8. Inner Healing, Deliverance and
Maturity:
Inner Healing vs. Deliverance: How
they relate…which is which?
Inner Healing vs. Maturity: Where do
we need to have our heart healed, and
where do we need to make decisions to
accept responsibility for our behavior.
Ex. Blaming, gossiping or engaging in
self pity is a choice, not a wound.
8
9. Inner Healing: Primary Focus
in Heart Trek
Dealing with traumatic memories and
ungodly messages, and healing the
consequent belief systems
How to release walled off parts of our
hearts and become whole people
9
10. Inner Healing and Deliverance
Inner Healing deals with the root Heart
wounds that lead to unforgiveness,
vows, dysfunctional decisions
Deliverance addresses the demonic
attachment that results as a
consequence of the heart wounds
10
11. Heart wounding occurs one lie,
one judgment, one decision to
withhold forgiveness at a time.
12. Inner healing deals with the “nest”
or stronghold deliverance with the
demonic “egg” that is laid in it.
13. Inner Healing is Essential in
order to keep the house of our
soul free of torment
Matthew 12:43-45: “When the unclean
spirit has gone out of a man, it roams
through dry places in search of rest, but
it does not find any. Then it says, I will
go back to my house from which I came
out.
13
14. Inner Healing is Essential in
order to keep the house of our
soul free of torment
Matthew 12:43-45: “And when it arrives it
finds the place unoccupied, swept, put in
order and decorated. Then it goes and
brings 7 other spirits more wicked and
they go and make their home there.”
14
15. To get rid of the demonic presence,
we seek to deal first with the primary
root, until the “nest” is dismantled.
The invader then must leave!
16. Strongholds: Hiding places for lies,
unhealthy belief systems, and demons
For the weapons of our
warfare are not
physical weapons of
flesh and blood, but
are mighty in God for
the tearing down of
strongholds.
2 Cor 10:4
17. God’s Seed & the Soil of Our
Hearts
Inner wounds and destructive
assumptions can cause the soil of our
hearts to become hard and stony.
19. Maturity
Salvation is a Decision that takes
place in a moment; Maturity and
Intimacy are fruit that are
developed over time and
experience in relationship, with
God and others.
19
20. Maturity
“Do not be conformed to this present
world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, so that you
may test and approve what is the will
of God-what is good and well-
pleasing and perfect.” Rom. 12: 2
20
21. Maturity
The state of being mentally and
emotionally well-developed, and therefore
willing to accept responsibility for your
own decisions and actions. Willing to
remain engaged in relationship and work
things out; choosing self-awareness,
forgiveness and process.
21
22. What does it take to
Mature?
Measure of Inner Healing...Willingness to
“Own your Story” and walk it out with
God without blaming and/or running.
Development of Healthy Relationships
Learn to both give and receive
22
23. Motivation:
To Avoid Pain; physical, emotional,
relational
Maturity is required in order to handle
painful situations.
Willing to delay gratification, work
through hard things.
23
24. Steps to Develop Maturity
Learn to smile, warmly greet others
Learn to listen, without interrupting or giving
advice; listen to understand.
Learn to give, unconditionally without
expecting reward.
24
25. Instantaneous
and Process
We accept Jesus as
our Savior in a
moments time at
Salvation;
We learn to make
Him our Lord and
King over a lifetime.
25
26. Why do we get wounded?
We are created by God to have needs.
It is the heart of our
Heavenly Father to meet
those needs
We are born helpless and
vulnerable - dependent
on mom and dad.
27. Trying So Hard
Trying to meet our own needs in ways
independent from God often means that we
accidently or knowingly
end up hurting ourselves
and others.
28. We have Normal “Felt”
Needs
Safe and Protected - from physical harm and
emotional abuse. We put up internal walls to feel safe.
Identity and Belonging - to feel significant and
valued, to know how we fit in. When our sense of
identity and belonging is
damaged - we make assumptions
about ourselves and our world
29. These Two Kinds of Needs
The root of our wounds always relate to these
two kinds of needs.
When we don’t feel safe and protected; we
often put up interior walls
When our sense of identity and belonging is
damaged - we make assumptions or listen to
lies about ourselves and our world
32. The Key of
Forgiveness
It is a foundational
dynamic of God’s
Kingdom. Lord’s Prayer:
Forgive us our sins,
Lord, as we forgive those
who sin against us.
33. Forgiveness
Holding on to unforgiveness keeps us
tormented (Matthew 18:21-35)
In forgiving, we choose to live by grace.
34. Unforgiveness
33 Should you not also have had
compassion on your fellow servant, just as I
had pity on you?’ 34 And his master was
angry, and delivered him to the torturers
until he should pay all that was due to him.
35 “So My heavenly Father also will do to
you if each of you, from his heart, does not
forgive his brother his trespasses.” Matt
18:33-35
35. Forgiveness in Ministry
Is NOT excusing the offender, nor is it
minimizing the damage.
It is facing and acknowledging the depth
of the damage and pain from an action
or situation.
Does NOT mean you have to trust or
have an ongoing relationship with the
person who hurt you.
36. Forgiveness = Releasing
It is releasing yourself from holding resentment
and the unfairness of what happened to you.
It is releasing the person
responsible for hurting you
from your right to punish
them.
It is acknowledging God is the
judge, not you, and He will
give you justice as only He
can.
37. Encouraging
Forgiveness
We do not coerce or
demand that people forgive – it
must be from their
heart.
When the person is unable/unwilling to
forgive something “big”, we often invite them
to find a “smaller” or more specific offense to
forgive. This often opens the door to forgive
the “bigger” things.
38. Forgiveness Often Needs
to Go Deeper
If God brings it up – He is inviting the person to
reach a deeper level of forgiveness. Forgiving
from the heart is much different than forgiving
from our mind.
Process: 1. Tell the story. 2. Name the specific
issue. 3. Choose to forgive; be honest as to
whether you’re ready or not. 4. Decide whether
reconciliation, and how much, can occur.
39. Forgiveness – Central
Key
Forgiveness is almost always a central key
for unlocking the prison door and watching
Jesus set the captives free.
40. Spirit, Soul and Body are being
Sanctified
And may the God of peace
HImself sanctify you
through and through and
may your spirit and soul and
body be preserved sound
and complete, blameless at
the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ. 1 Thes 5:23
41. Sozo Defined
Sozo: Saved, Healed, Delivered
Sozo: To become Whole
“Sozo” is used
77 times in the
New Testament
41
42. Blessing Your Spirit:
Arthur Burk
• Your Spirit: Has access to Heavenly
realms in communion with Holy Spirit
• Able to receive truth
• Understand, will and feel
• Present since Conception
• Can be Strengthened and Instructed
• Is to be in authority over the soul and
body
43. Blessing Your Spirit
• Our Spirits can receive legitimacy directly
from God. Romans 8:16: when we cry,
“Abba! Father!” it is the Spirit himself
bearing witness with our spirit that we are
children of God.
44. Our spirits are present with us,
intact since conception
• Luke 1:41: When Elizabeth heard Marys
greeting, the baby (John) leaped within
her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with
the Holy Spirit.
46. Our spirits can be strengthened
and instructed, and are to be in
authority over the soul and
body.
• He who sows to his own flesh will from the
flesh reap decay, but he who sows to the
spirit will from the spirit reap eternal life.
Gal. 6:8
• For what person perceives what passes
through a mans thoughts except the mans
own spirit within him? 1 Cor 2:11
47. What we do:
• Call the Spirit to Attention; come to the
forefront
• Ask the soul to rest, step aside
• Speak the truth of scripture, encourage,
strengthen, build up
• We DO NOT tell the spirit what to do; we
tell the spirit the possibilities
48. Emmanuel Process:
Intentionally helping the person get
more connected, spirit to spirit, so the
spirit can lead.
Helps them get
out of their
“head”and
into the
spirit.
50. Emmanuel Process:
First, ask Holy Spirit to remind them of
a time when they connected to God.
Have them talk
about it
for a while.
51. Emmanuel Process:
Encourage them to verbalize gratitude
for the goodness of God, Who He has
been for them,
how He has
revealed Himself
and shown His
faithfulness.
53. Listening Prayer: He loves us
and wants to talk about it!
Like Jesus, we seek to do what we see
(sense, hear) the Father is doing. John
5:19
54. We want to do what the Father is
doing in Heart Trek
Ministry team job is to help recipient
with hearing/seeing/sensing
Best if they see for themselves, direct
from the source
No religious cliches or scripture!
Jesus is the best counselor!
55. Our goal in a Heart Trek is to be the
“Tour Guide”, show you your
options, and let you decide what to
do with that
information.
56. It is the Kindness of God that
brings us to repentance
The voice of the Lord is
upon the waters... The
voice of the Lord is
powerful ...the voice of the
Lord is full of majesty...The
voice of the Lord breaks
the cedars.....Psalm 29 AMP
57. Listening Prayer:
Expect answers!
• Joining our spirits together amplifies
hearing
• If they hear for themselves, they will
take that home with them, and
continue going!
58. Listening Prayer: Expect
Answers!
• Avoid closed-ended or yes/no
questions, like: do, did, will, would etc.
• These tend to put the person under
pressure to give the “right” answer.
59. Listening Prayer: Expect
Answers!
Using Open-ended Questions and
asking about heart issues: Causes us to
open our heart up to be influenced;
relational.
Examples: Why, When, Where, What,
Who, Show me, Take me...
