Just like New York, Florida is also a popular state as it offers a number of valuable tax lien certificates for sale. However, another similarity between the two is that both are origins of the most mysterious disappearances in America.

Famous Mysterious Disappearances in America
1. Famous Mysterious Disappearances in America
The advancement of technology has provided a number of benefits to the society. In fact, many gadgets
have become useful to forensic experts and investigators as far as solving crime scenes are concerned.
Nevertheless, there are still a few cases, which remain unsolved, that have created a huge impact to
American history. Here are some of the most famous disappearances in America:
Amelia Earhart
The disappearance of Amelia Earhart has made countless experts remain confused until today. Her trip
across the globe was shortened when her famous Lockheed Electra vanished somewhere in the Pacific
Ocean on June 2, 1937. Hours after the tragic incident, rescuers started to scour the spot where Earhart
was last heard via radio transmission.
Unfortunately, Earhart was never found like she just disappeared into thin air. After a few days, many
unconfirmed reports came up but there was no single conclusion as to what really happened to her. She
was declared dead on January 5, 1939.
The Mary Celeste
It was winter of November 1872 when legendary Captain Benjamin Briggs set sail with his wife and
daughter aboard the Mary Celeste, a huge ship built by the Canadians. The ship, which contains more
than 1,500 barrels of industrial alcohol, was set to sail from New York to Genoa, Italy.
Although there have been reports of bad weather conditions over the Atlantic, Captain Briggs was very
confident that he can reach the destination safely.
On December 4, 1872 somewhere in the Western part of Portugal, helmsman Dei Gratia spotted a weird
figure through his spyglass that seemed to be losing control. David Reed, the ship’s captain, immediately
concluded the weird ship to be the Mary Celeste. When they boarded the ship, Captain Briggs and his
family could not be found.
No one can conclude what truly happened to Captain Briggs and his family. Rumors came up that they
were kidnapped by pirates while others believed that they were washed away by a rogue wave.
Joseph Force Crater
New York may be a famous state due to its many profitable home liens but behind the state’s lucrative
properties is the enigmatic disappearance of a famous Judge named Joseph Force Crater. In fact, Crater
was the main reason why the phrase ‘pulling a crater’ is closely similar to an employee going AWOL.
It was the 6th of August 1930 when the 41-year old judge left his office and purchased a ticket to watch
the Broadway show ‘Dancing Partner’. After the play, he dined at the Manhattan chophouse together
with a friend. The last time he was ever seen was when he was walking outside the restaurant. His
disappearance puzzled many people; hence, Crater got the title ‘The missingest man in New York’.
2. Flight 19
The creepy Bermuda Triangle started sending chills to everyone on December 5, 1945 during the
disappearance of Flight 19. Five U.S torpedo bombers boarded Flight 19 from a Naval Air Station in
Florida for their three-hour training.
After two hours in the air, the squadron leader reported a malfunction on his compass, thus, giving them
no idea of their exact location. After a lot of searching, it has been concluded that Flight 19 was
somewhere in the Northern part of the Bahamas. A mariner was sent to rescue the crewmembers. But
just like Flight 19, even the rescuers mysteriously disappeared.
The disappearance of the mariner and Flight 19 initiated the rumors about the Bermuda Triangle.
Just like New York, Florida is also a popular state as it offers a number of valuable tax lien certificates for
sale. However, another similarity between the two is that both are origins of the most mysterious
disappearances in America.
