This document discusses techniques for helping marginalized groups through education and technology. It presents three case studies: 1) An African youth program in Zambia that teaches about colonialism through digital storytelling. 2) A program in Brooklyn for urban minority youth that addresses trauma and teaches STEM, GED, ESL and life skills. 3) A women's center in Bridgeport, CT that teaches adults job and life skills through innovative methods and technology. It argues that these programs help reengage populations pushed out of traditional education by addressing issues like poverty, trauma and accessibility through collaborative online learning frameworks.

that the human, as well as economic loss to us as a
nation is both epidemic (Bridgeland, 2006) and
catastrophic and has only worsened during
