Strike Lymphoma! Bowling Event
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – February 6, 2008 – The Rochelle and Richard Maize
Foundation generously supported the Sheryl Weissberg Lymphoma Research
Foundation again this year at their annual fundraiser, Strike Lymphoma! As King Pin
sponsors, the Maizes funded research for clinical trials and research conducted at
Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center and Tower
Cancer Research Foundation.
“We wholeheartedly support research and treatment for lymphoma, one of the most
devastating cancers,” said Richard Maize, co-founder of the Rochelle and Richard Maize
Foundation. “Together with partner organizations and individuals, we want to be able to
say that this disease has been eliminated and is now a disease of the past,” he added.
The exciting night of bowling at the PINZ Bowling Center included cocktails, dinner,
opportunity drawing and a live auction to benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation’s
mission of eradicating this disease.
Through their philanthropic foundation, Rochelle and Richard Maize continue to be
dedicated to supporting worthwhile organization that give people the chance to live
healthier and happier lives.

Sister of Greater Los Angeles and the Inland Empire (BBBSLA) recently
hosted a luncheon and fashion show to benefit the organization’s founding
mission of helping children reach their potential through one-on-one
mentoring relationships. The sold out event featured a boutique with high
end items including clothing, jewelry and other fashion accessories. The
fashion show featured the latest trends and celebrity-inspired collection of
Allen Schwartz’s A.B.S. line and was modeled by models from Tyra Banks’
hit show “America’s Next Top Model.”
“With the increasing demand for essential children’s services that the
BBBSLA provides, we are pleased to support their efforts on behalf of our
youth,” explained Rochelle Maize, co-founder of the Rochelle and Richard
Maize Foundation. “The event was an enjoyable experience and made even
more rewarding knowing that all that shopping would raise funds which will
help provide young people with a solid foundation for achieving future

BEVERLY HILLS, CA – May 16, 2008 – Elementary school students at Vista
Del Mar Child and Family Services received a special treat during “Pizza Hut
Day,” generously sponsored by The Rochelle and Richard Maize Foundation.
Held in the campus gymnasium, students patiently waited in line to grab their
slices and to personally thank Rochelle and Richard Maize for their caring
donation.
A dedicated and ongoing supporter of Vista Del Mar’s programs, faculty and
students, the Foundation has regularly contributed time and financial
resources to Vista Del Mar and other various programs to help children and
families in need. “We are extremely proud to be a supporter of these young
people so that as they experience adolescence and then adulthood, they can
step confidently into the future and further foster the spirit of giving,”

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- May 2008 -- It was a truly entertaining afternoon
when the Greater Los Angeles/Orange County Chapter of the Crohn’s and
Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) held its Inaugural Women of Distinction
Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Rochelle Maize, member of the Women
of Distinction Committee and co-founder of The Rochelle and Richard Maize
Foundation, gathered along with event Co-chairs Caryl Golden and Cathy
Greenly to celebrate the honorees with luncheon host Bobbie Thomas,
contributing editor for In Touch Magazine, correspondent for The Today Show
and E! Red Carpet host for the Academy, Emmy and SAG Awards.
The event honored four women who have achieved distinction in their careers
and who have generously supported the mission of the CCFA: Claire Levine,
philanthropist and Chair of the Board of Specialty Merchandise Corporation,
Helene Galen, philanthropist and community leader, Jaye Hersh,
entrepreneur and owner of Los Angeles boutique Intuition, and Mary Hart,
host of Entertainment Tonight. The event’s honorary committee members
also include Pierce Brosnan, Jamie Gertz, Lucy Liu, Madeline Redstone,
Mindy Weiss, Laurie Konheim and many other dedicated individuals who
donate their time and efforts to this very worthy effort.
As a special presentation, luncheon honorees, organizers and attendees
enjoyed a fashion show featuring the Pre-Fall 2008 Collection by celebrated
fashion designer Carolina Herrera. Proceeds raised at the luncheon will allow
hundreds of children with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis to attend the
CCFA Camp Oasis summer and family camp programs.

TEAM L.A. WINS BIG AT 2008 JCC MACCABI GAMES®
Young Beverly Hills Soccer Players Continue Winning
Streak in Olympic-style Competition
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – Sept. 2, 2008 – Beverly Hills residents and soccer players Ally
Maize and teammate, Alexa Block, were selected for the girls soccer teams to represent the
city of Los Angeles in the 2008 Maccabi Games®, part of the world’s largest annual summer
sporting competition for Jewish youth. Team L.A. celebrated silver and bronze medal wins at
the 26th annual Maccabi Games held in Detroit, Michigan from August 17-22. Maize and
Block are among 4,000 international youth athletes participating in the week-long sporting
event with teen athletes from the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Hungary, Israel, Mexico and
Venezuela.
“Along with their teammates, Ally and Alexa have once again demonstrated their passion and
talent on the soccer field in this year’s international Olympic-style competition,” said Rochelle
and Richard Maize, Ally’s parents who have cheered their daughter’s team for the third and
final year in a row. “The Maccabi Games have the ability to instill an appreciation of Jewish
values, competitive sporting experiences and the spirit of community involvement in a
memorable and rewarding environment. We are grateful that Jewish teens can participate in
such a meaningful experience,” added Richard Maize.
The Maccabi Games opening ceremony included an inspirational speech by retired American
swimmer Mark Spitz, best known for winning seven gold medals at the 1972 Munich Olympic
Games. His record achievement was surpassed this year when Michael Phelps won his
eighth gold medal of the 2008 Olympics. As an exceptionally talented swimmer, Spitz won
nine Olympic gold medals, one silver, and one bronze between 1968 and 1972. In addition to
Spitz, past Maccabi Games competitions have featured many world class Jewish athletes,
including Mitch Gaylord (gymnastics), Lenny Krayzelburg (swimming), Ernie Grunfeld and
Danny Schayes (basketball), and Brad Gilbert and Dick Savitt (tennis).
In addition to regular soccer practice in advance preparation for this year’s games, both the
girls and boys playing for Team L.A. were treated to a pre-competition kick-off dinner hosted
by Ally’s parents at Romano’s Macaroni Grill in Thousand Oaks.
The Maccabi movement originally began in Israel in 1895 and was introduced to the U.S. in
1982 with 300 participating athletes. Today, the Maccabi Games involve more than 6,000
Jewish teenagers between the ages of 13 and 16 competing in summer games held in
multiple sites in North America and carries on a proud tradition of athletic competition.
Participants have an opportunity to compete in one of 14 sports and no matter which team
wins, all participants in the games are winners just for playing in such an important global
event. More than 100,000 teens have benefited from the JCC Maccabi Games since 1982.
The energy and excitement make it a unique and unforgettable experience for every
participant, from athletes to volunteers, from coaches to host families.

Beverly Hills, Calif. – October 28, 2008 -- For the past 12 years on the 600
block of Alta Drive in Beverly Hills, the Halloween decorations get ever more
“spooktacular” for neighborhood ghouls, goblins and their parents to enjoy
while trick or treating. The spooky house is popular not only with neighbors,
but is also as treat for out-of-town passersby who look forward to visiting each
year.
“Halloween is one of our most favored holidays and we always try to
incorporate current events and social issues into our growing Halloween
decoration collection,” explained Rochelle and Richard Maize, long-time
Beverly Hills residents who are addicted to this holiday. “Following 9/11, all of
our decorative creatures were showing their American spirit by holding U.S.
flags and each year, we add to our collection of Halloween props,” Rochelle
Maize said.
With societal concerns focused on the severe consequences of global
warming, the Maize family has decided to raise environmental consciousness
in their community by going green this Halloween.
Rochelle Maize explained, “This year’s theme is special because we want to
remind everyone that even small steps towards living a greener life do make a
positive impact on our environment. So, going Green for Halloween in Beverly
Hills seems so natural. As Beverly Hills residents, we share Mayor Barry
Brucker’s ongoing commitment and passion for furthering the green
