Descriptive Essay About Food
One of the biggest struggles in my life tends to be food. I love eating, but at the same time, I rather
not eat. I love trying new foods with exotic flavors and unique recipes, but I fear the reaction that
by body will force on me. I have recently been diagnosed with a condition known as dyspepsia. This
essentially means my stomach does not enjoy food as much as my mouth does. With each meal, I
face the possibility of becoming nauseous after eating. As a result, I tend to avoid large portions,
greasy, or overly sweet foods. Although, every now and then, I push my fears of food aside and
fully indulge myself in spectacular meals. Poe's Tavern has been the restaurant in which I break
beyond my fears and gorge on food. Located in Wrightsville beach, Poe's Tavern tends to be one of
my favorite places to eat to feel satisfied after a meal, and fascinated as a literary fanatic throughout
the entire experience. This restaurant has been created in honor of the author and poet, Edgar Allan
Poe. Poe has been credited as the creator of the mystery and horror genera. He tends to be most well
known for his poems and short stories, in which Poe's Tavern glorifies through their restaurant
environment as well as food selection. Poe's Tavern has been a phenomenal restaurant for any
literary enthusiast with an interest in a fascinating environment and adventurous taste pallet. The
creators of Poe's Tavern focused as much on their atmosphere as they did the food when creating

Descriptive Essay On Comfort Food
Food is one of man's best friend, nobody can deny that. However, it is hard to branch out to other
foods once you have found your comfort foods. I tried really hard to expand my horizons and try
something new, but next think I knew I was sitting in a booth at the local Culver's. Comfort foods
can greatly impact a person's experience in a new place. I thought I was lame for choosing Culver's
to be my "experience" in Dubuque, but lame is the exact opposite description of my time spent
there. Being from Sauk City, home of the World's first Culver's, how can you not love and crave
their food constantly? My sister, who is a senior in college at Northern Illinois, came down on
Friday to pick me up for a family wedding. When she...show more content...
My new thing was sitting down with my sister and truly having a deep conversation and listening
to one another. Having a big family, four siblings, there is never a time I was alone at home or
unbothered. Growing up, I saw this as a negative but looking back I now know how truly lucky I
was to have such fun and sincere siblings. I often see other families in my hometown and even
now here in Dubuque with only one child or small families. Growing up with a lot of siblings
helped me to grow into the person I am today through their guidance and advice. They would
always turn every bad situation into a good one and make jokes about it to get it off my mind. I
cannot imagine growing up without them and not being as close to them. Having so many
important people in your life who you can trust and lean on when times get tough is crucial to
making it in this world. Another necessity in getting by in life is definitely comfort foods. If you
are in a strange place with new people and new ideas, nothing feels better than food from your
hometown. When I was choosing a school, the location was a crucial part in my decision for many
reasons. One main reason was definitely so I could be somewhat close to home but another major
reason was the distance to the nearest culvers. I know this may sound pathetic, but Culver's has been

Descriptive Essay About A Dinner Party
I was having a dinner party because it was my birthday. It was at a magic mansion I rented for the
party. I also rented an enchanted dinner table for the party. It made the room appeal to anyone.
One person could smell lavender and another could smell cookies. The table changed material,
lights, floor, smell, texture and sound (music). The french doors I would open for my guests
were in a short hall that lead into a big room. The big room was circular and was I was inviting
famous people only to my dinner party. There was a velvet carpet on the floor and 2 curved stairs
leading up to a balcony where one can stand. The roof was concave and at the highest point was a
magnificent glass chandelier. The floor was made out of marble. Paintings decorated the walls and
the paintings moved and spoke just like the ones at Hogwarts.
The food will be whatever they wish and the food will appear on the enchanted table. I am inviting
JK Rowling, Percy Jackson, Dumbledore and Harry Potter. I am inviting JK Rowling because she
will want to talk to the people she wrote about. I am inviting Percy Jackson because he will want to
talk about the magic sea creatures that live in the magic world. I am inviting Dumbledore because
he is slightly crazy but a powerful wizard. I am inviting Harry Potter because he is a main character
in JK Rowling's books. She will want to talk to him.
"Welcome, welcome!" I exclaimed, "Come on in."
The first guest to my dinner party was JK Rowling.

Descriptive Essay About Dining Hall Food
Enlightened, enlightened with all the food that surrounds me and how I have the freedom to eat
anything I want, whenever I want. All I see is food ranging from colorful breakfast cereals to
gluten–free blueberry bread, tofu wraps, Hawaiian pizza, vanilla ice cream and healthy green salads.
I am honestly overwhelmed to see so many food options crammed into one dining hall. The
so–called "Freshman 15" will probably hit me hard due to consuming all of this food offered to me.
I went from eating homemade enchiladas soaked in red California pepper sauce, topped off with
freshly cut lettuce and radishes to consuming greasy pizza and ice–cream at any given time of the
day.
Trading off my mother's homemade food for dining hall food is a tough transition not only on
myself in terms of leaving my comfort zone but it will also have its effects on my body. My body
has been used to eating my mom's home cooked meals for the past 18 years that it really doesn't
my body in terms of gaining weight or getting sick; for the first time ever, I will be not be
consuming healthy home cooked meals that are made with love anytime soon. Home cooked
meals included quesadillas full of melting Monterrey Jack that stretched so far apart when I'd open
the flour tortilla in order for it to cool off and soon home cooked meals will probably turn into me
making myself some Kraft mac n' cheese at late night hours.
Nevertheless, as a college student who know has access to a seven day all you can eat meal plan

Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Food
Enjoying delicious foods can count as one of my "hobbies"; from crunchy, buttery popcorn to
zesty ice cream, from fresh sashimi of sushi to the rich seafood of Spanish fried rice. But, if you
ask me what is my favorite food among all these delicacies, the only answer that I can give to you
is, "My mom's cooking." Every morning, opening my lunch bag, the water vapor inside my lunch
box lid starts my copacetic day. During lunch time, the 'ding' sound of microwave after one minute
and thirty seconds determined my attitude over the whole day. Lunch, my mom's handmade food, is
my passion. Maybe you are thinking that I'm exaggerating about 'lunch', but every grain of rice in
my lunch box makes up who I am. I learned my identity from my...show more content...

my lunch bag was heavy. With unstoppable curiosity, I looked inside of my lunch bag. "Yes!" I
almost screamed at the same time; my favorite; Chinese food, traditional, mom's hand–making,
vegetables, meat, and white rice! It doesn 't look like the regal food the nobles dance around, or the
shining treasures with a box, in contrast too much soy sauce made the potato slices look abrasive and
coarse, with minced meat on the top, adding a more biting taste to it.
During a lunch break, two girls sitting next to my table captured my attention. One of them pointed
at my lunchbox and talked to the another. Although my English was not that good at that time, but
I heard from their few isolated words;"ugly", "weird", and "disgusting". I ignored them. However,
I was scared, I was scared to be the 'outsider', but I realized that I'm always the outsider. "Is this the
reason why my mom didn't bring Chinese food for me?" I thought.
That was a culture shock to them.

Essay about The Culture of African Cuisine
The forest not only hides man's enemies but it's full of man's medicine, healing power and food.
~African Proverb.
Africa is a continent that is rich and diverse in terms of culture and traditions. The continent is also
considered to be the agricultural hub in the world. Due to this, most of African culture is ultimately
intertwined with the foodstuffs that the land has to offer. In general, most of the inhabitants of Africa
live within the rural areas and rely on subsistent farming to meet their day to day food needs. Fast
food restaurants and supermarkets where processed and packaged food is sold are usually frowned
upon and considered a waste of money and resources (AIG, 2011).
CHARACTERISTICS OF AFRICAN FOOD
African foods are...show more content...
Beans, cassava, groundnuts, maize, tomatoes and sweet potatoes thus were introduced to Africa as a
direct cause of the European exploring of the American continent. Asian seasonings like pepper,
cinnamon, clove, curry and nutmeg were introduced as well. More often than not, the ingredients
used to prepare an African dish are fresh, very cheap and easily used to make a quick meal.
Common vegetables include kale, spinach, cabbage, tomatoes, beans, potatoes, avocados and
other leafy greens, while beef and goat meat are the common meats served in an African meal.
Fish, chicken, and mutton are also available but are more expensive (AIG, 2011). Meat is often
used merely as one of a number of flavorings, rather than as a main ingredient in cooking. Tropical
fruits such as mangoes, oranges, pineapples, bananas, papaws, and pears are cheap, plentiful and
popular among the people of Africa, because they are not available all year round and are dictated
by seasons. Other ingredients used in typical dishes include rice, corn meal or maize, wheat and
millet flour.
Yams, plantains, green bananas and cassava are the essential staples in Africa. These vegetables
are grown and used all over the continent, either on their own or combined with others. Cassava is
an important source of dietary carbohydrates in the tropical and subtropical areas of the world, with
its roots providing food for over 500 million

Descriptive Essay On Fast Food
In our quickly growing society, full of capitalism, advertisements seem to have become the
backdrop to our bustling lives. Though we seem to overlook their presence, throughout all
American cities, Ads are what fill all the empty spaces, from store front windows, to big
billboards in the skies. These brightly colored pictures, that flood our vision as we drive to work,
or even stroll down the mall, have a more influential effect on our daily lives then we realize. A
perfect example of this is with the food industry.
Fast Food is becoming a routine stop for many Americans, as they go about their day. This is causing
health to also be on the minds of consumers. You'd think this would defer people from continuing
their daily, fast food pit stop, but in reality, it's the industries that are changing their own
advertisements to promote their "healthy" options instead. When you take a moment to look at the
ads promoting your favorite food brands, you'll start to notice the emphasis on things such as calorie
count, ingredients, and freshness of the food. You can clearly see these attributes when analyzing the
three different posters, for three different food products, that I have selected.
The first poster, is an image of a Heinz ketchup bottle, created using fresh slices of tomatoes. The
second poster is promoting a Veggie Burger from McDonald's by forming the image of a cow using
various vegetables. While the last poster is for the popular smoothie brand, Naked, in which you see
a healthy looking woman running, with the words "Our machines don't run on added sugar or
preservatives and neither will you".
While analyzing the first poster, for Heinz ketchup, your eyes quickly realizes the well known
glass Heinz bottle to be made up entirely of thick slices of tomatoes. The rest of the poster is
merely a red background with a small Heinz slogan at the bottom, which reads, "No one grows
ketchup like Heinz". The poster is simple, with only two focal points, the bottle, and the slogan. This
forces the consumers to only focus on what the producer wants them to gather, which is, in this case,
the idea of natural and fresh ingredients. The simplicity of the ad also seems to represent that the
popular ketchup brand

Descriptive Essay About Spaghetti
Did you have any food obsessions as a kid, and eat the same thing continually?
Ordinarily, the one meal I am willing to kill over is spaghetti. The one person who comes to mind
when I think about spaghetti is my grandmother. Her sauce is as thick as her history and the many
layers to the dish represent the transitions she has had all throughout her life. Spaghetti is my go–to
meal for heartaches, stress, and happiness. I can 't just eat anyone 's spaghetti or any type of
spaghetti. First, it has to be my Mammaw 's (grandmother) spaghetti because she adds the perfect
amount of sugar and love into her infamous sauce.

Eating half naked sounds weird, well it is weird, but that just shows you the closeness of our
relationship. I 'm obsessed with spaghetti, it 's the best carbs a girl could get her hands on.
For instance, when my grandmother is cooking her infamous spaghetti, the whole neighborhood
knows because you can smell the sauce from outside of the house. We use to stay in a small
shotgun house and since there was poor ventilation, she would cook with the door open. Well, we
had to stop that because neighbors would beg like no tomorrow for a plate of food, the same
neighbors who wouldn 't even lend you a cup of sugar if your life depended on it. Moreover, the
downfall of her cooking without the door open is that my mouth would hang to the floor the whole
time the meal was being prepared because I would be mesmerized.
When she cooks, she seduces you and the aromas pull moans from the bottom of your belly. I
remember this one time my nose got me in trouble. My nose grew feet and walked me to the
kitchen where I saw the spaghetti cooling off on the counter, I figured one or three spoonfuls of
the sauce would hurt, well I was wrong. The sauce was so hot on my tongue that tears came out of
my eyes. I screamed and screamed until my grandmother came in the kitchen. She said, " Girl what
in the hell is wrong with you?"
I mumbled, "Mawmaw my tongue is on fire."
She giggled,"Fatty butt, you couldn 't wait, I 've told you too many times to not to open my pots,"

It was seven in the morning and my parents woke me up to head into seattle. I got dressed,

water was so smooth that I forgot that we were even on a boat. I saw how close we were and kept

about ten minutes of looking around I got bored and asked if we could do something else. We

everyone in seattle backed into parking instead of having the back of your vehicle on the outside.
After a few more random conversations we saw that it was time to head back to the space needle.
Once we got up there, our waiter took us to a seat by the window. I got mac and cheese and a root

covers a large territory and has many nationalities. So, there is a variety of Chinese food with
different but fantastic and tasty flavor. Today, I want to introduce you my favorite food, which has
special meaning to me. It is a kind of noodle. But there are many different kinds of noodles in my
country, I don't even count down how many are them. For example, In Shanxi, the most famous
noodle is sliced noodles; in Guangdong, it has dry fried noodles; in Sichuan, people love spicy hot
noodles very much. In my pleasant hometown Wuhan, the hot dry noodles, also known as
"reganmian", is a traditional and the most famous local dish in Central China. For I was born in
Wuhan and live in there for almost all my life, I can say that hot dry noodles is my favorite with no
doubt. The hot–dry noodles are meaningful to me because of two reasons. First, they origin from my
hometown use the simplest integrates and taste amazing; Second, they help me go through the most
difficult time living aboard.
The hot dry noodles should not be considered as simple food. Not only because the noodles have
enjoyed a long history within Chinese food culture over 80 years, but also they are popular with

Descriptive Essay Of A Restaurant
Once I stepped inside the restaurant I automatically could hear the music playing at a moderate
level and the laughter of the customers. Right off the back the restaurant's ambiance had a positive
vibe. Mindful, it was a Saturday late afternoon. Mary Jane Burger and Brew is a local restaurant
trying to stay true to its past. The granddaughter of the original owner now runs the place with the
intention of serving good quality food where the ingredients are fresh, mouth watering, and surely
not filled with antibiotics and all that other genetically modified elements found in processed foods.
The vintage, rustic looking place, holds a small town atmosphere with a big taste.
The host sat my sister and I at a table in the middle of the dining area. A giant window let sunlight
flood into the room and the speakers provided a good backdrop of music to help engage
conversation. The restaurant itself seems fairly modern: leather seating, dark wood tables, and
mason jar for glasses. It is the epitome of a hang out spot for any teen, millennial, or elder
meetup. The staff caters to the needs of the customers and are always ready to help out in any
way possible. I started the meal off with a glass of sweet tea that never made it lower then the
halfway point. The waitress was always there with a pitcher of their home brewed sweet tea. The
tea itself was not too sweet, it had the subtle taste of the bitterness that tea should have. In other
words it did not taste like someone dumped a bag

Descriptive Essay About Food Festival
Initially, the fantastic food festival seemed a bit obscure as the grand event had started earlier than
usual. Silence was omnipresent only broken by an old man's mumbling. He had a crinkled face
which reflected his wisdom as he stood with a back slightly hunched. His eyes were fatigued as he
stared at the event's board with a completely different perspective than the others. He walked
towards the event's office in a lethargic manner not noticing our presence. After a while, the sounds
of the crowd were heard in the distance which signaled the start of this grand festival.
In a few minutes the flow of people had started and so had the grills. All the various flavors of
food, from all around the world, were displayed marvelously across all the stalls. The aroma of all
the different cuisines diffused through the air as it made everyone's mouth water! Surprisingly, there
was one cook dressed up as a colorful clown performing mind–blowing tricks with several beef
patties. In no time he had gathered a massive crowd in the South African stand who were amazed by
his outstanding skills. After this little show, he set up a few appetizing burgers for everyone to try.

The restaurant I chose was Wintzell's Oyster House, famous for the fresh and best seafood on the

varieties of music that they play. Even from afar I can smell the fresh seafood as soon as you walk

Street Food: An Essay On Street Food
Introduction
Street food is exactly what the words conjure up: food available in a public place, such as from a
vendor on a street. And so much more!
Typically, street food is tasty, ready–to–eat food or drink sold on the street, in a market, fair, park or
other public place. It is sold by a hawker or vendor from a portable stall, cart or food truck. Some
street foods are regional but many are not, having spread beyond their place of origin and enjoyed
locally for their exotic or unusual ingredients and flavors. Most street foods are considered both
finger food and fast food and are more reasonably priced than restaurant meals. 2.5 billion People

Today, it has become an urban mainstay in large cities and small towns alike, and continues to
evolve and tempt the passersby on streets around the world. We can definitely say that street food
existed in ancient Greece. The most popular meal was fried fish. Ancient Rome had its street food
vendors too. I should admit that street foods were consumed by poor citizens. Very few people
had an oven or a hearth in their houses. Consequently, they could not cook at home and had to
purchase cheap food in the street. The most common meal of that time was soup with bread. When
we speak about ancient China, we will say that it was one of the first countries, which had catering.
Of course, the poor bought and consumed this food in the street. The rich could afford a servant
who bought street food and carried it to their homes. The standards of street food were not regulated
until the first part of the 15th century. The first country, which legalized street food and established
its standards, was Turkey. The most popular street meals of Turkey and other Eastern countries were
rice, lamb kebab, fried chicken, etc. As you see, meat occupied the leading position in their

Back when I was only five years old, pizza was always one of my favorite food in my life.

As I grew up, I started to notice that everybody devours there pizza differently.

I always eat pizza on special occasions like when It's my birthday or when it's my friend's birthday
or when I am hungry.
Why I say dominos is my favorite then the rest of the other pizza places is because dominos makes
its pizza a hand tossed pizza with a Garlic–seasoned crust with a rich, buttery taste to it with every
bite.
Like the crust feels perfect in your hand when you are holding it.
There are other options for the pizza crust like the handmade pan, it's a Two layer of cheese,
toppings to the edge, baked in a pan for a crust that is golden and crispy with a buttery taste to it

The one I hate the most from all the other crusts is the crunchy thin crust. The reason I hate it
because the pizza is so fragile and skinny and like there no crust in it.
Every time I drive near dominos I can smell their pizza cooking in the oven, it smells like crisp
baked bread with warm melting mozzarella cheese and sweet rich ripe tomato sauce. The smell

high energy efficient hand dryers, and all toiletries were stocked. Even the mirrors were spotless! It's
often said that you can judge the cleanliness of a restaurant 's kitchen by the cleanliness of the
restrooms. With the spotlessness of this restroom, I wasn't the least bit worried about the cleanliness
of the kitchen.
I returned back to the table not even five minutes later and our drinks, as well as our appetizers
were served! I couldn't believe how fast it came. We ordered spinach artichoke dip that was
served in a bread bowl. I'd highly recommend this appetizer, it was truthfully life changing. As we
enjoyed our appetizer our waiter frequently returned to our table and conversed with us, as well as
to check on the quality of our food and get our orders for the main dish. He was very attentive and
very considerate of our time limitations, I was extremely impressed with him. The menu had a wide
variety of options

Descriptive Essay On Food
There are many different techniques that an author can use to create an effective piece of writing to
convince an audience to support your research. The concept of food relating to the characteristics of
a population, such as their race, religion, culture, etc. creates an interesting discussion on how
different aspects of food and the processes involved including but not limited to the making, selling,
and marketing of the food can impact a person. Between the three research pieces regarding the
different elements of food, the most effective piece written would be From Loncheras to Lobsta
Love: Food Trucks, Cultural Identity and Social Justice. This research blog is the best piece between
the three because of the advanced use of logical and convincing techniques that the author, Julian
Agyeman, uses throughout his writing. These aspects if his writing help make this piece excel over
the other two writings, Coding and Decoding Dinner by Todd Kliman and More than Just the "Big
Piece of Chicken" The Power of Race, Class, and Food in America Consciousness written by Psyche
Williams–Forson. From the structure of the work to the style and the way he writes in an effort to
convince his audience, Agyeman does an excellent job of using the information from his research as
well as incorporating information from other sources to create an article that effectively connects to
his readers that elicit his desired response. Agyeman's use of an engaging structure has been just one

Descriptive Essay About Fast Food
A lot of people eat fast food regularly. It has become a way of life for a lot of people, and I am no
exception to this. I never really paid attention to the actual details of fast food, but recently I started
to wonder who was the best fast food restaurant. To answer this, I compared the service quality, the
price and the food quality from Chick–fil–A, McDonald's and Burger King. I went to one
establishment a day from Wednesday through Friday at around 12:10 pm, and I got enough food for
the average family size of three to sample from. I found it extremely important to get food around
noon because it's the peak of lunch rush.
Service
Lunch rush is where the real service quality of a restaurant is going to shine. It really shows how

The staff was ok. Unlike the other restaurants it wasn't very busy. The staff seemed more interested
in goofing off than assisting me. The thing that really got me was the speed of this restaurant. Burger
king took approximately 7 minutes. The same as Chick–fil–A. The problem is that a Burger King
only serving three other people took as long as a completely full Chick–fil–A. The staff at Burger
King was okay in terms of manners. They weren't rude, but they could have been more focused.
They are absolutely terrible with their time. The first–place winner in the service category is clearly
Chick–fil–A. They are consistently nice and quick. Second–place goes to Burger King. It shouldn't
have taken that long, But the staff weren't crabby like the people at McDonald's. Good service is a
must have for returning customers, but it's not entirely what draws people to a certain fast food place.
Price
The thing that draws most people to a particular fast food place is the bargain that they think they're
getting. Going to a restaurant to buy 15 individual items and 15 meals to compare prices is insane.
So instead I found online charts that had the prices (not including tax) for Chick–fil–A, McDonald's
and Burger King to compare instead. The food I'm looking at are two fast food staples: The chicken
nugget and the fry. The Chick–fil–12–piece nugget meal contains: 12 nuggets, a medium drink and a
medium fry. This will run you about $8.59. The individual prices for

Descriptive Essay About Food

  • 1. Descriptive Essay About Food One of the biggest struggles in my life tends to be food. I love eating, but at the same time, I rather not eat. I love trying new foods with exotic flavors and unique recipes, but I fear the reaction that by body will force on me. I have recently been diagnosed with a condition known as dyspepsia. This essentially means my stomach does not enjoy food as much as my mouth does. With each meal, I face the possibility of becoming nauseous after eating. As a result, I tend to avoid large portions, greasy, or overly sweet foods. Although, every now and then, I push my fears of food aside and fully indulge myself in spectacular meals. Poe's Tavern has been the restaurant in which I break beyond my fears and gorge on food. Located in Wrightsville beach, Poe's Tavern tends to be one of my favorite places to eat to feel satisfied after a meal, and fascinated as a literary fanatic throughout the entire experience. This restaurant has been created in honor of the author and poet, Edgar Allan Poe. Poe has been credited as the creator of the mystery and horror genera. He tends to be most well known for his poems and short stories, in which Poe's Tavern glorifies through their restaurant environment as well as food selection. Poe's Tavern has been a phenomenal restaurant for any literary enthusiast with an interest in a fascinating environment and adventurous taste pallet. The creators of Poe's Tavern focused as much on their atmosphere as they did the food when creating such an Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Descriptive Essay On Comfort Food Food is one of man's best friend, nobody can deny that. However, it is hard to branch out to other foods once you have found your comfort foods. I tried really hard to expand my horizons and try something new, but next think I knew I was sitting in a booth at the local Culver's. Comfort foods can greatly impact a person's experience in a new place. I thought I was lame for choosing Culver's to be my "experience" in Dubuque, but lame is the exact opposite description of my time spent there. Being from Sauk City, home of the World's first Culver's, how can you not love and crave their food constantly? My sister, who is a senior in college at Northern Illinois, came down on Friday to pick me up for a family wedding. When she...show more content... My new thing was sitting down with my sister and truly having a deep conversation and listening to one another. Having a big family, four siblings, there is never a time I was alone at home or unbothered. Growing up, I saw this as a negative but looking back I now know how truly lucky I was to have such fun and sincere siblings. I often see other families in my hometown and even now here in Dubuque with only one child or small families. Growing up with a lot of siblings helped me to grow into the person I am today through their guidance and advice. They would always turn every bad situation into a good one and make jokes about it to get it off my mind. I cannot imagine growing up without them and not being as close to them. Having so many important people in your life who you can trust and lean on when times get tough is crucial to making it in this world. Another necessity in getting by in life is definitely comfort foods. If you are in a strange place with new people and new ideas, nothing feels better than food from your hometown. When I was choosing a school, the location was a crucial part in my decision for many reasons. One main reason was definitely so I could be somewhat close to home but another major reason was the distance to the nearest culvers. I know this may sound pathetic, but Culver's has been my go to feel Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Descriptive Essay About A Dinner Party I was having a dinner party because it was my birthday. It was at a magic mansion I rented for the party. I also rented an enchanted dinner table for the party. It made the room appeal to anyone. One person could smell lavender and another could smell cookies. The table changed material, lights, floor, smell, texture and sound (music). The french doors I would open for my guests were in a short hall that lead into a big room. The big room was circular and was I was inviting famous people only to my dinner party. There was a velvet carpet on the floor and 2 curved stairs leading up to a balcony where one can stand. The roof was concave and at the highest point was a magnificent glass chandelier. The floor was made out of marble. Paintings decorated the walls and the paintings moved and spoke just like the ones at Hogwarts. The food will be whatever they wish and the food will appear on the enchanted table. I am inviting JK Rowling, Percy Jackson, Dumbledore and Harry Potter. I am inviting JK Rowling because she will want to talk to the people she wrote about. I am inviting Percy Jackson because he will want to talk about the magic sea creatures that live in the magic world. I am inviting Dumbledore because he is slightly crazy but a powerful wizard. I am inviting Harry Potter because he is a main character in JK Rowling's books. She will want to talk to him. "Welcome, welcome!" I exclaimed, "Come on in." The first guest to my dinner party was JK Rowling. "Well this Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Descriptive Essay About Dining Hall Food Enlightened, enlightened with all the food that surrounds me and how I have the freedom to eat anything I want, whenever I want. All I see is food ranging from colorful breakfast cereals to gluten–free blueberry bread, tofu wraps, Hawaiian pizza, vanilla ice cream and healthy green salads. I am honestly overwhelmed to see so many food options crammed into one dining hall. The so–called "Freshman 15" will probably hit me hard due to consuming all of this food offered to me. I went from eating homemade enchiladas soaked in red California pepper sauce, topped off with freshly cut lettuce and radishes to consuming greasy pizza and ice–cream at any given time of the day. Trading off my mother's homemade food for dining hall food is a tough transition not only on myself in terms of leaving my comfort zone but it will also have its effects on my body. My body has been used to eating my mom's home cooked meals for the past 18 years that it really doesn't my body in terms of gaining weight or getting sick; for the first time ever, I will be not be consuming healthy home cooked meals that are made with love anytime soon. Home cooked meals included quesadillas full of melting Monterrey Jack that stretched so far apart when I'd open the flour tortilla in order for it to cool off and soon home cooked meals will probably turn into me making myself some Kraft mac n' cheese at late night hours. • 5. Descriptive Essay About My Favorite Food Enjoying delicious foods can count as one of my "hobbies"; from crunchy, buttery popcorn to zesty ice cream, from fresh sashimi of sushi to the rich seafood of Spanish fried rice. But, if you ask me what is my favorite food among all these delicacies, the only answer that I can give to you is, "My mom's cooking." Every morning, opening my lunch bag, the water vapor inside my lunch box lid starts my copacetic day. During lunch time, the 'ding' sound of microwave after one minute and thirty seconds determined my attitude over the whole day. Lunch, my mom's handmade food, is my passion. Maybe you are thinking that I'm exaggerating about 'lunch', but every grain of rice in my lunch box makes up who I am. I learned my identity from my...show more content... They all look like gorgeous gems inside a secret treasure box with nobles dancing around them. I bring my lunch to school every day, but none of those said before come close to my heart like Chinese food. Since that day, I found out that my mom did this on purpose. That day, unlike before, my lunch bag was heavy. With unstoppable curiosity, I looked inside of my lunch bag. "Yes!" I almost screamed at the same time; my favorite; Chinese food, traditional, mom's hand–making, vegetables, meat, and white rice! It doesn 't look like the regal food the nobles dance around, or the shining treasures with a box, in contrast too much soy sauce made the potato slices look abrasive and coarse, with minced meat on the top, adding a more biting taste to it. During a lunch break, two girls sitting next to my table captured my attention. One of them pointed at my lunchbox and talked to the another. Although my English was not that good at that time, but I heard from their few isolated words;"ugly", "weird", and "disgusting". I ignored them. However, I was scared, I was scared to be the 'outsider', but I realized that I'm always the outsider. "Is this the reason why my mom didn't bring Chinese food for me?" I thought. That was a culture shock to them. I continued to bring my lunch to school every day. But, from that moment on, I subconsciously wanted to hide my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Essay about The Culture of African Cuisine The forest not only hides man's enemies but it's full of man's medicine, healing power and food. ~African Proverb. Africa is a continent that is rich and diverse in terms of culture and traditions. The continent is also considered to be the agricultural hub in the world. Due to this, most of African culture is ultimately intertwined with the foodstuffs that the land has to offer. In general, most of the inhabitants of Africa live within the rural areas and rely on subsistent farming to meet their day to day food needs. Fast food restaurants and supermarkets where processed and packaged food is sold are usually frowned upon and considered a waste of money and resources (AIG, 2011). CHARACTERISTICS OF AFRICAN FOOD African foods are...show more content... Beans, cassava, groundnuts, maize, tomatoes and sweet potatoes thus were introduced to Africa as a direct cause of the European exploring of the American continent. Asian seasonings like pepper, cinnamon, clove, curry and nutmeg were introduced as well. More often than not, the ingredients used to prepare an African dish are fresh, very cheap and easily used to make a quick meal. Common vegetables include kale, spinach, cabbage, tomatoes, beans, potatoes, avocados and other leafy greens, while beef and goat meat are the common meats served in an African meal. Fish, chicken, and mutton are also available but are more expensive (AIG, 2011). Meat is often used merely as one of a number of flavorings, rather than as a main ingredient in cooking. Tropical fruits such as mangoes, oranges, pineapples, bananas, papaws, and pears are cheap, plentiful and popular among the people of Africa, because they are not available all year round and are dictated by seasons. Other ingredients used in typical dishes include rice, corn meal or maize, wheat and millet flour. Yams, plantains, green bananas and cassava are the essential staples in Africa. These vegetables are grown and used all over the continent, either on their own or combined with others. Cassava is an important source of dietary carbohydrates in the tropical and subtropical areas of the world, with its roots providing food for over 500 million Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Descriptive Essay On Fast Food In our quickly growing society, full of capitalism, advertisements seem to have become the backdrop to our bustling lives. Though we seem to overlook their presence, throughout all American cities, Ads are what fill all the empty spaces, from store front windows, to big billboards in the skies. These brightly colored pictures, that flood our vision as we drive to work, or even stroll down the mall, have a more influential effect on our daily lives then we realize. A perfect example of this is with the food industry. Fast Food is becoming a routine stop for many Americans, as they go about their day. This is causing health to also be on the minds of consumers. You'd think this would defer people from continuing their daily, fast food pit stop, but in reality, it's the industries that are changing their own advertisements to promote their "healthy" options instead. When you take a moment to look at the ads promoting your favorite food brands, you'll start to notice the emphasis on things such as calorie count, ingredients, and freshness of the food. You can clearly see these attributes when analyzing the three different posters, for three different food products, that I have selected. The first poster, is an image of a Heinz ketchup bottle, created using fresh slices of tomatoes. The second poster is promoting a Veggie Burger from McDonald's by forming the image of a cow using various vegetables. While the last poster is for the popular smoothie brand, Naked, in which you see a healthy looking woman running, with the words "Our machines don't run on added sugar or preservatives and neither will you". While analyzing the first poster, for Heinz ketchup, your eyes quickly realizes the well known glass Heinz bottle to be made up entirely of thick slices of tomatoes. The rest of the poster is merely a red background with a small Heinz slogan at the bottom, which reads, "No one grows ketchup like Heinz". The poster is simple, with only two focal points, the bottle, and the slogan. This forces the consumers to only focus on what the producer wants them to gather, which is, in this case, the idea of natural and fresh ingredients. The simplicity of the ad also seems to represent that the popular ketchup brand Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Descriptive Essay About Spaghetti Did you have any food obsessions as a kid, and eat the same thing continually? Ordinarily, the one meal I am willing to kill over is spaghetti. The one person who comes to mind when I think about spaghetti is my grandmother. Her sauce is as thick as her history and the many layers to the dish represent the transitions she has had all throughout her life. Spaghetti is my go–to meal for heartaches, stress, and happiness. I can 't just eat anyone 's spaghetti or any type of spaghetti. First, it has to be my Mammaw 's (grandmother) spaghetti because she adds the perfect amount of sugar and love into her infamous sauce. Above all, She 's extremely talented in the kitchen and it 's because of her background. My grandmother dropped out of school...show more content... Eating half naked sounds weird, well it is weird, but that just shows you the closeness of our relationship. I 'm obsessed with spaghetti, it 's the best carbs a girl could get her hands on. For instance, when my grandmother is cooking her infamous spaghetti, the whole neighborhood knows because you can smell the sauce from outside of the house. We use to stay in a small shotgun house and since there was poor ventilation, she would cook with the door open. Well, we had to stop that because neighbors would beg like no tomorrow for a plate of food, the same neighbors who wouldn 't even lend you a cup of sugar if your life depended on it. Moreover, the downfall of her cooking without the door open is that my mouth would hang to the floor the whole time the meal was being prepared because I would be mesmerized. When she cooks, she seduces you and the aromas pull moans from the bottom of your belly. I remember this one time my nose got me in trouble. My nose grew feet and walked me to the kitchen where I saw the spaghetti cooling off on the counter, I figured one or three spoonfuls of the sauce would hurt, well I was wrong. The sauce was so hot on my tongue that tears came out of my eyes. I screamed and screamed until my grandmother came in the kitchen. She said, " Girl what in the hell is wrong with you?" I mumbled, "Mawmaw my tongue is on fire." She giggled,"Fatty butt, you couldn 't wait, I 've told you too many times to not to open my pots," she 's really strict Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Descriptive Essay About Seafood It was seven in the morning and my parents woke me up to head into seattle. I got dressed, brushed my teeth, and then we headed straight to the ferry. Once we got to the ferry, it was about 20 minutes till they let us on. Once we got on, I went and got a banana and some apple juice. The water was so smooth that I forgot that we were even on a boat. I saw how close we were and kept asking my parents how much longer. Once we got there, my sister and I were basically tugging on them. They told us we need to wait for a taxi. I am pretty sure the first thing we did was go to a aquarium. It was my sister 's choice. Once we were done with that we headed to these markets that had lots of seafood and random stuff. I said that we should ate then my parents told me that we are going to eat in the space needle. I remember that I didn 't even know that it was a restaurant. I said," That 's a restaurant!" We went up to the top of it and saw if we could get a table. They said that there would be a table ready in about forty–five minutes. Then we headed up to the very top and we looked through a looking glass things that we used to see the whole city. After about ten minutes of looking around I got bored and asked if we could do something else. We headed back to the bottom and there was a gift shop with a whole bunch of seattle things. I got a miniature space needle. I think that my sister got something boring like a shirt. My parents then said we should all wait outside so we headed to a bench outside. We were talking about how everyone in seattle backed into parking instead of having the back of your vehicle on the outside. After a few more random conversations we saw that it was time to head back to the space needle. Once we got up there, our waiter took us to a seat by the window. I got mac and cheese and a root beer. My sister got chicken tenders and a coke. Once we got our food, my sister curled up into a ball and it looked like she started crying, I tried getting her to tell me but she didn 't want to talk. Then she said that she thinks that it is a migraine. I didn 't know what that was so I asked my mom and she told Get more content on HelpWriting.net

First, they origin from my hometown use the simplest integrates and taste amazing; Second, they help me go through the most difficult time living aboard. • 11. Descriptive Essay Of A Restaurant Once I stepped inside the restaurant I automatically could hear the music playing at a moderate level and the laughter of the customers. Right off the back the restaurant's ambiance had a positive vibe. Mindful, it was a Saturday late afternoon. Mary Jane Burger and Brew is a local restaurant trying to stay true to its past. The granddaughter of the original owner now runs the place with the intention of serving good quality food where the ingredients are fresh, mouth watering, and surely not filled with antibiotics and all that other genetically modified elements found in processed foods. The vintage, rustic looking place, holds a small town atmosphere with a big taste. The host sat my sister and I at a table in the middle of the dining area. A giant window let sunlight flood into the room and the speakers provided a good backdrop of music to help engage conversation. The restaurant itself seems fairly modern: leather seating, dark wood tables, and mason jar for glasses. It is the epitome of a hang out spot for any teen, millennial, or elder meetup. The staff caters to the needs of the customers and are always ready to help out in any way possible. I started the meal off with a glass of sweet tea that never made it lower then the halfway point. The waitress was always there with a pitcher of their home brewed sweet tea. The tea itself was not too sweet, it had the subtle taste of the bitterness that tea should have. In other words it did not taste like someone dumped a bag Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Descriptive Essay About Food Festival Initially, the fantastic food festival seemed a bit obscure as the grand event had started earlier than usual. Silence was omnipresent only broken by an old man's mumbling. He had a crinkled face which reflected his wisdom as he stood with a back slightly hunched. His eyes were fatigued as he stared at the event's board with a completely different perspective than the others. He walked towards the event's office in a lethargic manner not noticing our presence. After a while, the sounds of the crowd were heard in the distance which signaled the start of this grand festival. In a few minutes the flow of people had started and so had the grills. All the various flavors of food, from all around the world, were displayed marvelously across all the stalls. The aroma of all the different cuisines diffused through the air as it made everyone's mouth water! Surprisingly, there was one cook dressed up as a colorful clown performing mind–blowing tricks with several beef patties. Hospitably, they spread the happiness by handing out free, fresh and juicy tacos made to perfection. • 13. Descriptive Essay About A Restaurant The restaurant I chose was Wintzell's Oyster House, famous for the fresh and best seafood on the Gulf Coast. Wintzell's has been serving the community for over 75 years now, and was named in Willard Scott's All–American Cookbook for the "Best Oysters and Crabs." The people of Mobile are proud of this historic landmark, mainly because of its overall success and business it has brought to the city. Wintzell's is now serving over 11 locations and the franchise is looking to expand the company even more. My overall experience at Wintzell's was amazing, from the atmosphere, good food and prices, great service, and cleanliness. When I think of a seafood restaurant the first thing that comes to mind is the good fresh food that I am about to intake. I imagine sitting at my table, seeing the scenic view of the beach, while listening to the different varieties of music that they play. Even from afar I can smell the fresh seafood as soon as you walk in the door, and see the fish tanks that sets the tone of the family atmosphere in a restaurant. Most of all I imagine watching the waiter bring my sizzling food to the table and saying "enjoy" before I dig in. I feel as this is what a seafood restaurant should consist of, being from Birmingham you don't find many seafood restaurants and when I visit restaurants near the beach these are things I remember.Wintzell's oyster house atmosphere was unique, especially the clever and entertaining quotes on the wall that brightened my day. The sundried tomatoes are sparingly sprinkled throughout the dish because the flavor is quite intense, concentrated and slightly salty so a little goes along way. I always eat pizza on special occasions like when It's my birthday or when it's my friend's birthday or when I am hungry. Why I say dominos is my favorite then the rest of the other pizza places is because dominos makes its pizza a hand tossed pizza with a Garlic–seasoned crust with a rich, buttery taste to it with every bite. Like the crust feels perfect in your hand when you are holding it. There are other options for the pizza crust like the handmade pan, it's a Two layer of cheese, toppings to the edge, baked in a pan for a crust that is golden and crispy with a buttery taste to it and there's the Brooklyn style it's a hand stretched to be big, thin and perfectly foldable. The one I hate the most from all the other crusts is the crunchy thin crust. The reason I hate it because the pizza is so fragile and skinny and like there no crust in it. Every time I drive near dominos I can smell their pizza cooking in the oven, it smells like crisp baked bread with warm melting mozzarella cheese and sweet rich ripe tomato sauce. The smell takes me way back when I ate my first pizza , when I just came to Cleveland, Ohio from my trip overseas and there was no store open at night where we can find fast food that was good and dominions was the only store that was open at 1 am in the morning so we bought our first box and Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It seems as if there is always something negative that could be said about even the best restaurants in the country, not even one is entirely perfect. It's incredibly hard to find a great restaurant that has attentive servers, high quality food served in a timely manner, a friendly atmosphere, and overall cleanliness. Incredibly, I have found an impeccable restaurant that not only meets all of the criteria listed above, it exceeds them. Due to the fact that the show we planned on attending started soon, we informed our waiter that we were in quite a big hurry. We ordered our drinks and appetizers and I headed off to the restroom to wash my hands before the food arrived. The restroom was just as pristine as the rest of the restaurant, there were no giant globs of soap all over the counter, they had high energy efficient hand dryers, and all toiletries were stocked. Even the mirrors were spotless! It's often said that you can judge the cleanliness of a restaurant 's kitchen by the cleanliness of the restrooms. With the spotlessness of this restroom, I wasn't the least bit worried about the cleanliness of the kitchen. I returned back to the table not even five minutes later and our drinks, as well as our appetizers were served! I couldn't believe how fast it came. We ordered spinach artichoke dip that was served in a bread bowl. I'd highly recommend this appetizer, it was truthfully life changing. As we enjoyed our appetizer our waiter frequently returned to our table and conversed with us, as well as to check on the quality of our food and get our orders for the main dish. The concept of food relating to the characteristics of a population, such as their race, religion, culture, etc. creates an interesting discussion on how different aspects of food and the processes involved including but not limited to the making, selling, and marketing of the food can impact a person. • 20. Descriptive Essay About Fast Food A lot of people eat fast food regularly. It has become a way of life for a lot of people, and I am no exception to this. I never really paid attention to the actual details of fast food, but recently I started to wonder who was the best fast food restaurant. To answer this, I compared the service quality, the price and the food quality from Chick–fil–A, McDonald's and Burger King. I went to one establishment a day from Wednesday through Friday at around 12:10 pm, and I got enough food for the average family size of three to sample from. I found it extremely important to get food around noon because it's the peak of lunch rush. Service Lunch rush is where the real service quality of a restaurant is going to shine. The thing that really got me was the speed of this restaurant. Burger king took approximately 7 minutes. The same as Chick–fil–A. The problem is that a Burger King only serving three other people took as long as a completely full Chick–fil–A. The staff at Burger King was okay in terms of manners. They weren't rude, but they could have been more focused. They are absolutely terrible with their time. The first–place winner in the service category is clearly Chick–fil–A. They are consistently nice and quick. Second–place goes to Burger King. It shouldn't have taken that long, But the staff weren't crabby like the people at McDonald's. Good service is a must have for returning customers, but it's not entirely what draws people to a certain fast food place. Price The thing that draws most people to a particular fast food place is the bargain that they think they're getting. Going to a restaurant to buy 15 individual items and 15 meals to compare prices is insane. So instead I found online charts that had the prices (not including tax) for Chick–fil–A, McDonald's and Burger King to compare instead. The food I'm looking at are two fast food staples: The chicken nugget and the fry. The Chick–fil–12–piece nugget meal contains: 12 nuggets, a medium drink and a medium fry. This will run you about $8.59. The individual prices for Get more content on HelpWriting.net
