There are always many differences and similarities between two countries, even they are in close
geographical area. Both United States and Canada are on the America continental, therefore the
United States and Canada are in close geographical location and in the neighborhoods, most people
think that culturally they are same .But this is not true. Despite all similarities between these two
countries, there are many differences between them.
The most shrinking similarity is that both countries are distinction for immigrants from around the
world. Governments of Canada and United State accept all foreigners from all cultures, therefore

Summary Of Rome: Differences And Similarities
Based on the article "Greece and Rome (Differences & Similarities)" it is explained that both the
Greeks and Romans have special characteristics that distinguish them, yet they still have numerous
attributes in common with one another. These two cultures were formed from different times during
history, but despite this, they can be shown to be very alike. In terms of aspects such as terrain and
women's rights, the Greeks and Romans are extremely distinct. Nonetheless, these two
Mediterranean countries are similar in ways that may not have been noticed. To start, the art of
the Greeks were considered to be superior to those of the Romans because the Romans' were seen
as "imitative art". Even so, they had characteristics that were comparable. To demonstrate, a
considerable amount of "Greek art adorned utilitarian objects, just as Roman art adorned the living
spaces," (pg. 1). In other words, though the two cultures had different types of art, most of them
were used to decorate items, whether it was for tools, or for buildings. From here, it is made
evident that art was used for similar purposes in these two points in time. The article further
mentions that during a period in Greek history, "there was demand for copies of earlier art," (pg.1).

slaves... [and] had coinage," (pg.1). Once again, the two communities weren't exactly the same, but
they still had the same types of systems. Whereas Rome was heavily dependent on slaves, they
weren't as crucial to Greece. Still, the two cultures had the same arrangements to support their
economy, which is how they were much the

A Discussion Of Similarities And Differences
The discussion of similarities and differences is always controversial inasmuch as the impact of
individuality determines the evolvement of any kind of relationship, and it cannot be stated that
attitudes of one person towards a specific social phenomena of present or past are the same as
attitudes of another person. The basis for this notion is supported by evidence of the results of
scientific researchers, as human patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving are different, and this
difference is grounded in biologically mandated individual features. Although, there is something in
common for different social groups, and ethnicity or religion might be contemplated as a wide factor
that units individuals. The fact that people are connected by events of their past cannot be denied,
however, the question is whether or not the form of this connection is applicable for every
individual, and can the significance of influence of individual features be eliminated while stating
that relationship with the past is similar for different individuals. The philosophical approach to this
discussion might be used while contemplating two protagonists represented in short stories by
Andrew Lam, which are included in Birds of Paradise Lost. Tammy in Slingshot and Ivory in Sister
have a lot in common, and the resemblance between them, which is greatly emphasized by the
author, is mainly based on the past they share and consequences it has on their contemporary lives.
Both stories are focused on

Similarities Between Dickinson And Whitman
"Dickinson and Whitman: differences and similarities"
Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson share more than contemporaneity in the bustling America of the
XIX century. Both are celebrated as poets who have significantly transformed the American poetry
from both style and content standpoints. While they are equally innovators and write about common
subjects such as nature, death, and immortality, they speak from different perspectives. She
produced a more intimate poetry – one that dealt with states of mind –, which can be attributed to
some extent to her reclusive and quiet life. He, in contrast, had Nature as a way to connect with
what he called "the Over Soul" and trusted its regenerative and instructional powers, dealing with this
theme in a broader way when compared to Dickinson.

In his poem A child said, What is the grass?, he portrays grass as representation of the life–death
cycle. He responds to Emerson's call celebrating nature as divine and a symbol of God, as the
universe is full of life and meaning, calling the reader's attention to the everyday minor miracles. He
rejoices about a series of nature's elements in his poetry, which can be extensively seen in Leaves of
Grass.
Another focus of Whitman's poetry in on the average people in opposition to individuals who
exhorted power. His developed a concept of self that suited all individuals, in a way to join all
Americans around a unified identity. Therefore, his poetry is perceived as communal, in opposition
to Dickinson's intimate voice.
From a formal perspective, Whitman is known as someone who have perfected the free verse while
Dickinson preferred slant or partial rhyme schemes as well as irregular punctuation and
capitalization. As far as length is concerned, Whitman wrote long and frequently intricate poems
whereas Dickinson's poems are rather shorter and more

Education has continued to evolve since the early days as more children continue to get access to
learning. Family structure is a critical component of better education in many settings. Children in
intact families have a better chance of completing their studies compared to those in blended
families. This paper is research on the education system and family structures. It will mainly focus
on the Philippines and French. These are two different groups located in various continents. The
paper will include the similarities and contrasts between the two with regards to their family

In French and the Philippines, there are both similarities and differences in their family structures.
The Philippine government has programs and policies for family planning and family development.
However, their programs and policies face weaknesses. France also practices family planning
programs although infertility still exists.
The family structure is undergoing changes in Philippine. In marriage, people are now waiting for
long to marry, women who are married are now working outside their homes, and the married
couples have few children. In the earlier family structures were mainly male dominated. The women
left their home when they were being married and lived with the parents of her husband if he was
the first son. They had a little independence in the family until they were passed their childbearing
years. With the changes and modernization, women now experience freedom compared to the past.
Changes in marriage patterns are closely related to the evolution of childbearing and influence
poverty. The low number of marriage in the Philippines has led to the reduction of women bearing
children. That has resulted in the reduction of family members and in turn led to the low usage of
resources hence low levels of poverty. Even though this has reduced poverty, the number of children
born out of marriages in the Philippines has done the

Civil War: Similarities And Differences
Ahmed Alsenan Similarities and Differences between the North and South North and South are
terms used by historians to refer to a complex reality in an oversimplified fashion; they imply
homogeneity of each of the two distinct regions, but, in reality, each of the two sections was
tremendously variegated. Both the North and South represent geographical regions that embraced a
considerable degree of dissimilarity in matters climate, geopolitics, demography and topography. Yet
the fundamental similarities within each of the two civilizations, which were divided by the
Mason–Dixon line, surpassed their internal differences. Then again, the differences between the
North and South transcended the difference between the two regions (Harriet). Over the years, the
differences and similarities between the two regions have dominated History discourses and elicited
mixed reaction within the realm of the American historical Profession. This is partly because of their
close relationship with a pertinent issue: the cause of the Civil War. This essay attempts to explore
the similarities and differences between the North and South and illuminate the cause and
extenuating nature of the Civil War. The North and South were approximately equal in size but
distinct in composition and growth. Towards the beginning of the Civil War, the North's population

City Life versus Country Life
Whether city is better than the countryside or visa–versa is an argumentative question. It depends
upon the life situation of people whether they want to live and relax in a calm place, or they want
to be among a big society. Generally, elders prefer country life while youths prefer to live in cities.
Elders want a comfortable and simple life, whereas, youths want a professional life. Some
similarities that are shared between them are the following: the same religion, government laws,
customs, and low with high–level families. Even though, both city life and country life have some
similarities shared between them, still there are some contrasts among them that separate city life
from country life in many aspects.

In a city people have access to many different transportation systems and have latest technologies.
Cities provide a variety of transportation services, such as regular bus lines, taxi services, metro
lines, and many more; they also have access to latest technologies, such as cellular phones,

Although, there are countless groceries, stores, supermarkets, and pharmacies convenient to the
homes of people, still some of the most trending companies provide online shopping. On the
contrary, none of the mentioned facilities and technological advancements is available in
countries. If they are available, however, they are in a very lower level. The people who live in
the countryside use primary transportation since a long time ago; therefore, there are a small
number of cars accessible in some of the villages. Moreover, there are only few shops, stores, and
pharmacies available only in some of the

The similarities and differences between cultures and societies is what makes the world like it is
today. Cultures developed independently, but as time went on and communication technology
evolved, people began to share their culture's ideas on religion, political philosophy, and medicinal
practices. Cultures started to feed off of and evolve from one another, as highlighted in the
similarities in ideals across the world. Not all countries adopted the same ideas though, as evident by
the many differences in cultures. These similarities and differences are the very foundation of how
we think and learn.
One of the major sources of similarities and differences across cultures is religion. A similarity across
religions is a flood story. In...show more content...
Many of Siddhartha's epiphanies or breakthroughs occurred while he was meditating. These
similarities and differences have influenced the world in very significant ways. Another source of
similarities and differences across civilizations is medicine. A similarity in medicine was the
attempt to explain maladies and sicknesses without supernatural cause, as shown by the "Plague
of Athens, 430 BC" by Thucydides and Hippocrates' On the Sacred Disease. They tried to describe
the diseases as scientifically as possible, with Hippocrates going so far as to call doctors who tried to
pin the sicknesses on the gods, "quacks" and "magicians". This is more in line with modern–day
thinking and while they did not correctly pinpoint the causes of the disease, it was a big step
towards developing a more practical and scientific way of looking at cures and medicines. A
difference in the belief of physical cures and remedies is shown by the idea of Ayurveda in India.
Ayurveda focuses more on herbal cures and mindfulness. It is sometimes referred to as a
pseudoscience. It believes in a focus on the "humours" of the body and how they need to be in
balance, in addition to alternative medicinal practices such as acupuncture or chiropractors. While
the effectiveness of these types of medicines is another discussion, they were important in the
development of their respective countries and cultures. A final source of similarities and

childhood, the picture, sound, and shape have evolved, to better fit the needs of consumers presently.
In the beginning of each thesis statement, I compared and then used three supporting facts to contrast.

Similarities Between Equality And Inequality
The social issue of equality and inequality, has dated back to the beginning of time. Although there
is no way to find out, would one really think that cavemen would not fight about who got the most
food? Even children would argue if someone else has more crayons, or more toys. Everyone has
demanded equality at least once in their lifetime. Unfortunately inequality occurs more often than
equality, and this will never change. Race, sex, and religion are the three main points that occur
most often in today's society. If someone were to turn on the news, they would more than likely see
global issues on race, sex, religion, and their fight for equality. I will be discussing the similarities
and differences of equality and inequality through race, sex, and religion.
When someone thinks about the similarities of equality and inequality in a social setting, they might
think that there are none. In fact, there are many similarities, and the main one is humans. Humans
either have equality, or they do not have it, and want it. Usually people have more courage in a
group, rather than alone. This is also a similarity with equality and inequality. "It is often groups
that rightfully raise the issue of an inequality between themselves and the rest of society"
(Gosepath). The rest of society that Gosepath is referring to, is people who have equality, which
connects equality and inequality. The first similarity of equality and inequality is race. Both sides
deal with all kinds of people

Theme, characters, conflict, and setting are literary terms that are essential to any story you may
read. Each literary term is important to the development of the plot. The lesson or moral that you
take away from the story is the theme. The time and place in which the story happens is the setting.
The conflict is the issue or the main problem in the story. The characters are just the people who are
involved in the story. All four of those terms can often be compared or contrasted throughout
different stories. Three stories that have similarities and differences with those four literary terms
are "Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket", "The Leap", and "The Trip". The literary elements –

But, unfortunately, Murad got caught. In the text, it said, "It will be hard to convince his mother,
but in the end he knows he will prevail on her to sell her gold bracelets. If she sells all seven of
them, it will pay for another trip. And next time, he'll make it." The theme of this story would be to
never lose hope and don't give up. The main character, Tom Benecke, had been working on a paper
for his job, for a couple months. All of the information that he needed for his promotion was on that
piece of paper. So, when it flew out of the window, he was so devastated that he walked out onto the
ledge of his 11–story high apartment. When he almost falls off, he comes a near death experience,
which made him realize that he has been wasting his life on work. He hadn't been paying
attention to his personal life and the time he has left for his life. But, even after realizing that, he
still made an effort to save his paper. In the text, it says, "He understood fully that he might
actually be going to die; his arms, maintaining his balance on the ledge, were trembling steadily
now. And it occurred to him then with all the force of a revelation that, if he fell, all he was ever
going to have out of life he would then, abruptly, have had." He still pressed to continue his journey
to get that sheet of paper for his job. He was so determined and motivated to get his raise. The
themes of those three stories have similarities and differences.

Although quite different, both Functionalism and Marxism have their similarities. They also have
their positive and negative aspects and ways in which each theory dysfunctions. Functionalism is the
study of society as a functioning system including interdependent institutions or patterned relations
that are steady overtime, and that enact specialized functions for the whole. The main focus is on
how direction is kept between parts of society. Any given pattern of relations or structures within
society is interpreted by reference to the results or functions that such patterns have for them
majority. It is an essential assumption within the functionalist perspective is that participation in
social systems is voluntary. When a sociologist uses...show more content...
The political economy perspective also shares with functionalism the idea that culture functions to
publicize "social integration". But the two perspectives differ a great deal in their comprehension of
how this integration works. Political economy sees cultural traditions as extending material
conditions and how people group collectively to "distribute, produce, and consume the goods and
services that sustain". Functionalism and Marxism also have their differences. The political
economy perspective urges research questions that would not come from the functionalist
perspective. Another difference is that functionalism focuses on dynamic equilibrium, it identifies
family as the primarily social institution, and "sees order as based on internationalization of shared
cultural values and attitudes, supported by feelings of guilt and desire for approval". The political
economy perspective on the other hand, focuses on economic relations as the main organizing
quality of the social system. Although quite different, both Functionalism and Marxism have their
similarities. They also have their good and bad aspects and ways in which each theory

On the other hand, there are some great differences between cats and dogs. The first difference
that can be easy to notice is that dogs are pack animal and cats are more of lone. As a pack animal,
dogs like a social and gregarious life. They love company; they will never feel bored if one spends
a lot of time with them. They do not like being isolated out of community; generally, they like to
follow their owner to wherever. In contrast, a cat is a solitary creature, hunting alone. Cat loves to
spend lots of time alone, like sleeping in the warm sunlight by itself, solitary wail, and so on.
The second difference is that dogs are generally smarter than cats. Their owners can train the dogs
to do tricks when commands in a short time, conversely people have to whether spend a lot of
time to train cats or cannot. Some of the most common tricks of dogs are to roll over, to shake
hands, to sit down, to lie down, and to stand by two legs, and so on. Besides do tricks, dogs are
train fight skill when their owner are attacked suddenly. In contrast, we have never seen a cat do
any of these things. The only thing a cat is good at is to catch mice.
Finally, the remarkable difference is that the dog is more loyal than the

Empires tend to deal with the same situations, but they also handle it in various ways. There are
certain things empires can't avoid dealing with like currency, war, disease, religion, traitors, etc.
Siberia in Russia, Spanish America, and Haiti in France are no different from those circumstances.
The main differences and similarities between the three countries will be religion and money. Russia

Organizational behavior is the study of the attitudes and conduct of individuals and groups in an
organization. Organizational behavior theories evaluate the impact of group and individual
identification on human behavior in an organizational structure (Rad & Yarmohammadian, 2006).
This paper seeks to compare and contrast three major theories of organizational behavior. It will
achieve this by examining the similarities and differences of three theories: Douglas McGregor's
Theory X and Y, Chris Argyris' Pattern A soft and hard, and Rensis Likert's FourManagement

In McGregor's theory X, Argyris' Pattern A hard, and Likert's System 1 stages, leaders are
characterized by an authoritative and directive behavior. In this, there is little communication
between the figure of authorities and the subordinates, as all decisions are made by the superiors
(Owens & Valesky, 2011). According to all three theorists, individuals in this stage must be
supervised and control measures be put in place to ensure productivity. Another similarity in the
theories can be seen in Argyris' Pattern A soft and Likert's System 2 management styles. In both
stages, the management is characterized by both compassionate and authoritative attitudes and
behaviors (Owens & Valesky, 2011). The management can use both rewards and punishments to
enhance subordination and performance. The third similarity is between McGregor's theory Y and
Likert's System 4 stages. Both theorists state that in these stages, the management is characterized by
individual participation, self direction, and very little

Similarities & Differences towards sexuality among major religions Human sexuality is the
expression of sexual sensation and related intimacy between human beings, Psychologically,
sexuality is the means to express the fullness of love between a man and woman. Biologically, is
it the means through which a child is conceived and the lineage is passed on to the next
generation (new world encyclopedia). Sexuality has existed for as long as creation has been
evolving, Egyptians in ancient times weren 't so different than us but they had different views.
For instance, Egypt was open and for the most part wasn 't filled with guilt towards the act. Lets
not forget that it was ancient times after all, adultery was unacceptable just like it is viewed now
except that woman usually got the worst punishment. A man could be just be made to divorce
but the woman would be beaten, killed and feed to the dogs. Although, that is merely one set of
culture standards, in other parts woman were the ones in power because their ability for
reproduction was viewed positively. The ability to give life to a child and procreate was seen as
the ultimate gift from "God". In early religions the procreating power is worshipped in god
regarded as its embodiment. Virginity is sacrificed to gods in order to secure their favor. Virginity
and continence are enforced either, again, as a sacrifice pleasing to the gods because indulgence in
the pleasures of the flesh is regarded as the root of great moral evils.

Online Learning Versus Classroom Instruction Imagine on a raining day when everyone is trying
to grab their umbrella or looking for parking, or running to their cars to avoid getting drenched
with the rain, and make it dry to class. But, there you are in your pajamas in bed with a cup of tea
in front of your laptop attending class, and no need to look for parking! Having experienced both
scenarios, I can say that there are many similarities and differences between online and traditional
classroom learning. The type of learning environment to choose from will depend on what works for
everyone, considering other factors that could create an impediment to either type of learning
location. Over the years, advancement in technology continue to evolve in the wake of online

settings and the purpose of each setting to guide people to make informed decision in choosing
between an online school and the original brick and mortar traditional campus. Therefore, the

Essay On Similarities And Differences

  • 1. There are always many differences and similarities between two countries, even they are in close geographical area. Both United States and Canada are on the America continental, therefore the United States and Canada are in close geographical location and in the neighborhoods, most people think that culturally they are same .But this is not true. Despite all similarities between these two countries, there are many differences between them. The most shrinking similarity is that both countries are distinction for immigrants from around the world. • 2. Summary Of Rome: Differences And Similarities Based on the article "Greece and Rome (Differences & Similarities)" it is explained that both the Greeks and Romans have special characteristics that distinguish them, yet they still have numerous attributes in common with one another. These two cultures were formed from different times during history, but despite this, they can be shown to be very alike. In terms of aspects such as terrain and women's rights, the Greeks and Romans are extremely distinct. Nonetheless, these two Mediterranean countries are similar in ways that may not have been noticed. To start, the art of the Greeks were considered to be superior to those of the Romans because the Romans' were seen as "imitative art". Even so, they had characteristics that were comparable. To demonstrate, a considerable amount of "Greek art adorned utilitarian objects, just as Roman art adorned the living spaces," (pg. 1). In other words, though the two cultures had different types of art, most of them were used to decorate items, whether it was for tools, or for buildings. From here, it is made evident that art was used for similar purposes in these two points in time. The article further mentions that during a period in Greek history, "there was demand for copies of earlier art," (pg.1). To elaborate, the Greeks also had imitative artworks, just as the Romans had...show more content... 1). For cities, the economy of the societies were also similar, for they both "worked mines... had slaves... [and] had coinage," (pg.1). Once again, the two communities weren't exactly the same, but they still had the same types of systems. Whereas Rome was heavily dependent on slaves, they weren't as crucial to Greece. Still, the two cultures had the same arrangements to support their economy, which is how they were much the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. A Discussion Of Similarities And Differences The discussion of similarities and differences is always controversial inasmuch as the impact of individuality determines the evolvement of any kind of relationship, and it cannot be stated that attitudes of one person towards a specific social phenomena of present or past are the same as attitudes of another person. The basis for this notion is supported by evidence of the results of scientific researchers, as human patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving are different, and this difference is grounded in biologically mandated individual features. Although, there is something in common for different social groups, and ethnicity or religion might be contemplated as a wide factor that units individuals. The fact that people are connected by events of their past cannot be denied, however, the question is whether or not the form of this connection is applicable for every individual, and can the significance of influence of individual features be eliminated while stating that relationship with the past is similar for different individuals. The philosophical approach to this discussion might be used while contemplating two protagonists represented in short stories by Andrew Lam, which are included in Birds of Paradise Lost. Tammy in Slingshot and Ivory in Sister have a lot in common, and the resemblance between them, which is greatly emphasized by the author, is mainly based on the past they share and consequences it has on their contemporary lives. Both stories are focused on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Similarities Between Dickinson And Whitman "Dickinson and Whitman: differences and similarities" Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson share more than contemporaneity in the bustling America of the XIX century. Both are celebrated as poets who have significantly transformed the American poetry from both style and content standpoints. While they are equally innovators and write about common subjects such as nature, death, and immortality, they speak from different perspectives. She produced a more intimate poetry – one that dealt with states of mind –, which can be attributed to some extent to her reclusive and quiet life. He, in contrast, had Nature as a way to connect with what he called "the Over Soul" and trusted its regenerative and instructional powers, dealing with this theme in a broader way when compared to Dickinson. For...show more content... In his poem A child said, What is the grass?, he portrays grass as representation of the life–death cycle. He responds to Emerson's call celebrating nature as divine and a symbol of God, as the universe is full of life and meaning, calling the reader's attention to the everyday minor miracles. He rejoices about a series of nature's elements in his poetry, which can be extensively seen in Leaves of Grass. Another focus of Whitman's poetry in on the average people in opposition to individuals who exhorted power. His developed a concept of self that suited all individuals, in a way to join all Americans around a unified identity. Therefore, his poetry is perceived as communal, in opposition to Dickinson's intimate voice. From a formal perspective, Whitman is known as someone who have perfected the free verse while Dickinson preferred slant or partial rhyme schemes as well as irregular punctuation and capitalization. As far as length is concerned, Whitman wrote long and frequently intricate poems whereas Dickinson's poems are rather shorter and more Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It will mainly focus on the Philippines and French. These are two different groups located in various continents. In French and the Philippines, there are both similarities and differences in their family structures. The Philippine government has programs and policies for family planning and family development. However, their programs and policies face weaknesses. France also practices family planning programs although infertility still exists. The family structure is undergoing changes in Philippine. In marriage, people are now waiting for long to marry, women who are married are now working outside their homes, and the married couples have few children. In the earlier family structures were mainly male dominated. The women left their home when they were being married and lived with the parents of her husband if he was the first son. They had a little independence in the family until they were passed their childbearing years. With the changes and modernization, women now experience freedom compared to the past. Changes in marriage patterns are closely related to the evolution of childbearing and influence poverty. The low number of marriage in the Philippines has led to the reduction of women bearing children. That has resulted in the reduction of family members and in turn led to the low usage of resources hence low levels of poverty. Even though this has reduced poverty, the number of children born out of marriages in the Philippines has done the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Civil War: Similarities And Differences Ahmed Alsenan Similarities and Differences between the North and South North and South are terms used by historians to refer to a complex reality in an oversimplified fashion; they imply homogeneity of each of the two distinct regions, but, in reality, each of the two sections was tremendously variegated. Both the North and South represent geographical regions that embraced a considerable degree of dissimilarity in matters climate, geopolitics, demography and topography. Yet the fundamental similarities within each of the two civilizations, which were divided by the Mason–Dixon line, surpassed their internal differences. Then again, the differences between the North and South transcended the difference between the two regions (Harriet). Over the years, the differences and similarities between the two regions have dominated History discourses and elicited mixed reaction within the realm of the American historical Profession. This is partly because of their close relationship with a pertinent issue: the cause of the Civil War. This essay attempts to explore the similarities and differences between the North and South and illuminate the cause and extenuating nature of the Civil War. Some similarities that are shared between them are the following: the same religion, government laws, customs, and low with high–level families. Cultures developed independently, but as time went on and communication technology evolved, people began to share their culture's ideas on religion, political philosophy, and medicinal practices. Cultures started to feed off of and evolve from one another, as highlighted in the similarities in ideals across the world. Not all countries adopted the same ideas though, as evident by the many differences in cultures. These similarities and differences are the very foundation of how we think and learn. One of the major sources of similarities and differences across cultures is religion. A similarity across religions is a flood story. In...show more content... Many of Siddhartha's epiphanies or breakthroughs occurred while he was meditating. These similarities and differences have influenced the world in very significant ways. Another source of similarities and differences across civilizations is medicine. A similarity in medicine was the attempt to explain maladies and sicknesses without supernatural cause, as shown by the "Plague of Athens, 430 BC" by Thucydides and Hippocrates' On the Sacred Disease. They tried to describe the diseases as scientifically as possible, with Hippocrates going so far as to call doctors who tried to pin the sicknesses on the gods, "quacks" and "magicians". This is more in line with modern–day thinking and while they did not correctly pinpoint the causes of the disease, it was a big step towards developing a more practical and scientific way of looking at cures and medicines. A difference in the belief of physical cures and remedies is shown by the idea of Ayurveda in India. Ayurveda focuses more on herbal cures and mindfulness. It is sometimes referred to as a pseudoscience. It believes in a focus on the "humours" of the body and how they need to be in balance, in addition to alternative medicinal practices such as acupuncture or chiropractors. While the effectiveness of these types of medicines is another discussion, they were important in the development of their respective countries and cultures. • 10. Similarities Between Equality And Inequality The social issue of equality and inequality, has dated back to the beginning of time. Although there is no way to find out, would one really think that cavemen would not fight about who got the most food? Even children would argue if someone else has more crayons, or more toys. Everyone has demanded equality at least once in their lifetime. Unfortunately inequality occurs more often than equality, and this will never change. Race, sex, and religion are the three main points that occur most often in today's society. If someone were to turn on the news, they would more than likely see global issues on race, sex, religion, and their fight for equality. I will be discussing the similarities and differences of equality and inequality through race, sex, and religion. When someone thinks about the similarities of equality and inequality in a social setting, they might think that there are none. In fact, there are many similarities, and the main one is humans. Humans either have equality, or they do not have it, and want it. Usually people have more courage in a group, rather than alone. This is also a similarity with equality and inequality. "It is often groups that rightfully raise the issue of an inequality between themselves and the rest of society" (Gosepath). The rest of society that Gosepath is referring to, is people who have equality, which connects equality and inequality. The first similarity of equality and inequality is race. Both sides deal with all kinds of people Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The lesson or moral that you take away from the story is the theme. The time and place in which the story happens is the setting. The conflict is the issue or the main problem in the story. The characters are just the people who are involved in the story. All four of those terms can often be compared or contrasted throughout different stories. All of the information that he needed for his promotion was on that piece of paper. So, when it flew out of the window, he was so devastated that he walked out onto the ledge of his 11–story high apartment. When he almost falls off, he comes a near death experience, which made him realize that he has been wasting his life on work. He hadn't been paying attention to his personal life and the time he has left for his life. But, even after realizing that, he still made an effort to save his paper. In the text, it says, "He understood fully that he might actually be going to die; his arms, maintaining his balance on the ledge, were trembling steadily now. And it occurred to him then with all the force of a revelation that, if he fell, all he was ever going to have out of life he would then, abruptly, have had." Functionalism is the study of society as a functioning system including interdependent institutions or patterned relations that are steady overtime, and that enact specialized functions for the whole. The main focus is on how direction is kept between parts of society. The political economy perspective also shares with functionalism the idea that culture functions to publicize "social integration". But the two perspectives differ a great deal in their comprehension of how this integration works. Political economy sees cultural traditions as extending material conditions and how people group collectively to "distribute, produce, and consume the goods and services that sustain". Functionalism and Marxism also have their differences. The political economy perspective urges research questions that would not come from the functionalist perspective. Another difference is that functionalism focuses on dynamic equilibrium, it identifies family as the primarily social institution, and "sees order as based on internationalization of shared cultural values and attitudes, supported by feelings of guilt and desire for approval". The political economy perspective on the other hand, focuses on economic relations as the main organizing quality of the social system. In contrast, a cat is a solitary creature, hunting alone. Cat loves to spend lots of time alone, like sleeping in the warm sunlight by itself, solitary wail, and so on. The second difference is that dogs are generally smarter than cats. Their owners can train the dogs to do tricks when commands in a short time, conversely people have to whether spend a lot of time to train cats or cannot. Some of the most common tricks of dogs are to roll over, to shake hands, to sit down, to lie down, and to stand by two legs, and so on. Another similarity in the theories can be seen in Argyris' Pattern A soft and Likert's System 2 management styles. In both stages, the management is characterized by both compassionate and authoritative attitudes and behaviors (Owens & Valesky, 2011). Similarities & Differences towards sexuality among major religions Human sexuality is the expression of sexual sensation and related intimacy between human beings, Psychologically, sexuality is the means to express the fullness of love between a man and woman. Biologically, is it the means through which a child is conceived and the lineage is passed on to the next generation (new world encyclopedia). Sexuality has existed for as long as creation has been evolving, Egyptians in ancient times weren 't so different than us but they had different views. For instance, Egypt was open and for the most part wasn 't filled with guilt towards the act. Lets not forget that it was ancient times after all, adultery was unacceptable just like it is viewed now except that woman usually got the worst punishment. A man could be just be made to divorce but the woman would be beaten, killed and feed to the dogs. Although, that is merely one set of culture standards, in other parts woman were the ones in power because their ability for reproduction was viewed positively. The ability to give life to a child and procreate was seen as the ultimate gift from "God". In early religions the procreating power is worshipped in god regarded as its embodiment. Virginity is sacrificed to gods in order to secure their favor. Virginity and continence are enforced either, again, as a sacrifice pleasing to the gods because indulgence in the pleasures of the flesh is regarded as the root of great moral evils.
