1. Q1: In what ways does your media product
use, develop or challenge forms and
conventions of real media products?
I planned and wanted to use a cool one shot down a corridor which is
used in many action films to set the scene and build tension. Examples
of this are John Wick, Daredevil (Netflix) and Inception. Mine is slightly
different as it was a still shot and there is a limited view of the
surroundings of the room which causes more tension and makes the
audience ask more questions and engages them more in the film.
My film also asks a lot of questions from the get go. This is used in
many action films to entice the audience and make them want to
watch more.
I haven't really challenged or changed the convention of media filming,
I just aimed to do the simple things well.
I wanted to do my opening scene as one long shot but I didn’t have the
equipment or the steady hand to do so but I kept many long still shots
in the final piece to keep to my original ideas.
