In 2001, the Ministry initiated the Electronic Book Project
to see how this device can be used to improve teaching
and learning and solving the perennial problem of heavy
school bags.

16. NOTEBOOK 1MALAYSIA
The distribution of free notebook 1Malaysia is an
important project in support of High Speed
Broadband (HSBB) and National Broadband
Initiative (NBI) to achieve broadband penetration of
75% by 2015.
To supply the laptops, a sum of RM 1 billion was
allocated under the Universal Service Provision
(USP) fund.
