A Critical Look at the Economy
1. OBJECTIVES MS US History - Government and Economics Give examples to show how government provides for national defense; health, safety, and environmental protection; defense of property rights; and the maintenance of free and fair market activity.
2. ConceptsTo Know Property Rights:principles, policies, and rules by which disputes over property are to be resolved and by which property transactions may be structured. What distinguishes property law from other kinds of law is that property law deals with the relationships between and among members of a society with respect to "things." The things may be tangible, such as land or a factory or a diamond ring, or they may be intangible, such as stocks and bonds or a bank account. Fair & Free market: an economic system in which prices and wages are determined by unrestricted competition between businesses, without government regulation or fear of monopolies.

The money has to come from somewhere to give to these federal, state, and local institutions. Explore the site. In a 250 word essay write an opinion on whether you think the current Government bailouts will, or could effect property rights of citizens, and or our free market economy. Be sure to run your assignment through spell check and cite your source at the end of your document.
