1. 1. Critically evaluate different types of researchmethodology
Research is considered to be an essential part in the field of health and social care. It comes to our
mind that we should comprehend what basic requirements are most essential and to whom they
may concern and under what circumstances. In doing so, we have the capability of understanding
other people’s commands and ways that could help us understand them thoroughly. There are three
different types of research methods that are considered important in the field of health and social
care. They are as follows:
Research based on qualitative method
Research based on quantitative method
Research based on two different methods
Qualitative Research– in this field, it is all about gathering various aspirations or rather certain
aspects that might collaborate with them. This is useful for researchers to gain immense knowledge
in ways that are capable of apprehending certain objectives. This following research is quite
helpful when it comes to interpreting activities that are about to occur
Quantitative Research– certain methods is useful in gathering information that can be achieved
with the use of basic analysis, whereas it helps in managing certain interconnections within the
organization, this is quite useful when it comes to realize what extent it is useful for
MixedMethods Research– this compares both research types that uses analytic data and provides
greater insights. With this use of this specific research method, it assists us in verifying data that
can be recruited from other sources. (Library & Cultural Services: Health and Social Care: Research Methods, 2022)
1.1 Describe methods of gathering data
In this research, there are various types of variations that can be implemented when gathering
information. They are as follows:
Literature sources – this method is used in the collection of various data that has been
already uploaded and is freely available
2. Sample Analysis – this specific method is implemented to congregate useful information
implemented for other purposes. It is implemented with the use of a census based on such
experiences
Interview – this is considered as a specific kind of method known as qualitative, the results
being achieved through this method are quite complex and rely on other aspects
Observations – it is used basically when certain data is targeted to accumulate people at a
specific time
Essential Files – this method is used to thoroughly preview all files of an organization that
is commenced to change over a certain time. (What are the 5 methods of gathering data?, 2022)
1.2 Describe the tools used to analyse and present data
This tool is used to analyze all necessary data in a single graph, and is often prepared as a check
sheet. A graph that shows how often a certain value is encountered with the use of essential data.
Chart plot: this helps to plot sums of numeric variables, so that each implemented data can be fixed
on a suitable point to regain relationship. (What are Data Collection & Analysis Tools? | ASQ, 2022)
1.3 Explain how the validity and reliability of data in research was assessed.
Dependability and legitimacy are ideas used to survey the nature of a review. They show how well
a strategy, method, or test estimates something. Dependability is about the security of an action,
and legitimacy is about the precision of an action. Considering the dependability and validity are
significant of your research design, methods, and results when you are creating them, especially if
you are conducting quantitative research. Reliability can be assessed by contrasting various forms
of a similar estimation. Legitimacy can be assessed by contrasting the outcomes with other
significant information or hypothesis. (Base and difference, 2022)
