2. Conquering lands both far and wide
The Mongols were a force to divide
They split the lands they conquered in
two
Spreading fear and sadness so blue

3. The invasion of Russia in 1236
Led to destruction for Russians to fix
Batu the Mongol led the forces so bold
Killing people, leaving them cold

4. Mongol horses charging through
Arrows flying straight at you
Their zooming arrows block the sun
And in the end their battle is won

5. Russian princes fled in fear
Many peasants shed some tears
Seeking protection the peasants ran
To become serfs and work the land

6. The effects of the Mongols were not all bad
In fact, in Moscow people were glad
The city benefited from increased trade
And with Mongols present there were no raids

7. In 1328, Moscow’s status changed
Becoming a tribute collector for the Khan so
estranged
The princes pocketed some of this cash
Filling their coffers with gold in a flash

9. Soon Mongol power declined
And the Russians became inclined
To overthrow the Mongol forces
Making them flee in fear on their horses

10. The Mongols invasion left some effects
Many the Russians didn’t reject
A change in military structure appeared
Along with it new military tactics were reared.

11. Another conquest in China was made
Siege to many cities were laid
1235 to 1279, the Mongols invaded
And many towns were vastly raided

12. The Great Kubilai Khan, a truly fierce man
Who was immensely protective of his clan
The Mongols considered superior to Chinese
Their livelihood was no longer a breeze

14. The Great Kahn then changed the name
Of his regime know with fame
The Yuan regime it came to be known
Kubilai Khan proclaimed rule of the Chinese
throne

15. A Mongol supremacist Khan came to be
Segregating his people from the Chinese
Forbidden from learning Mongol script
The Chinese scholars were looked over and
skipped

16. Khans fascination with Chinese civilization
Led him to incorporate parts of their nation
Chinese rituals and music became a part
Of the Great Khans court which gave diffusion a
start

18. Chabi would forever change
The Mongol and Chinese culture exchange
She convinced to Khan to make amends
To make the feud between them end.

19. Kubilai respected all religions
Forever wanting peace among his dominions
Welcoming Muslims and Buddhists to his palace
He greeted them with curiosity instead of malice

21. Under his rule there remained some trouble
As the scholar-gentry sought to reduce them to
rubble
Barbarians they called the Mongol horde
They wished the Great Khan was no longer lord

22. The Chinese dream finally came true
When Yuan dynasty began to fall through
A weakening of government policy and structure
Led to the Khans ending with a giant rupture
