Three unity of Drama
 1. Unity of Time
 2. Unity of Action
 3. Unity of Place
 # unity of Time : all the action should
occur within one day.
# unity of Action : a play should have one
unified plot.
# unity of place : be limited to a single
locale.
#Unity of Time#
 The unity of Time refers to the concept that
a action of the tragedy tends to take in a
single day.

 Limits the supposed action to the duration,
roughly of a single day.

 Example: Oedipus Rex ,Romeo and Juliet.
# Unity of Action#
 The events of the play center around one
single action there no subplots.
 The unity of Action limits the supposed
action to a single set of incident which are
related as cause and effect, " having a
beginning, middle and end".

Example: Macbeth.
 Unity of place means that the scene
should not change too often to one place
from another.
 A play should exist in a single physical
space and should not attempt to compress
geography, nor should the stage represent
more than one place.
Example: Macbeth. Oedipus Rex.

 Aristotle Greek philosopher,
 Scientist,
 The students of Plato.
 He was discusse about Three unity of Drama
 In his book "poetics".
 His views that require a play to have a single action
represented as occurring in a single place, and
within the course of a day.
 These principles were called respectively , unity
of action, unity of place , and unity of Time.

Three unity of drama

  • 2. Three unity of Drama  1. Unity of Time  2. Unity of Action  3. Unity of Place
  • 3.  # unity of Time : all the action should occur within one day. # unity of Action : a play should have one unified plot. # unity of place : be limited to a single locale.
  • 4. #Unity of Time#  The unity of Time refers to the concept that a action of the tragedy tends to take in a single day.   Limits the supposed action to the duration, roughly of a single day.   Example: Oedipus Rex ,Romeo and Juliet.
  • 5. # Unity of Action#  The events of the play center around one single action there no subplots.  The unity of Action limits the supposed action to a single set of incident which are related as cause and effect, " having a beginning, middle and end".  Example: Macbeth.
  • 6.  Unity of place means that the scene should not change too often to one place from another.  A play should exist in a single physical space and should not attempt to compress geography, nor should the stage represent more than one place. Example: Macbeth. Oedipus Rex.
  • 7.   Aristotle Greek philosopher,  Scientist,  The students of Plato.  He was discusse about Three unity of Drama  In his book "poetics".  His views that require a play to have a single action represented as occurring in a single place, and within the course of a day.  These principles were called respectively , unity of action, unity of place , and unity of Time.
