A team four competitors each jump
the large hill. Then they add up each
of the team mates score and the
highest score goes the cross-
country.
3. Curling
Two teams compete in this sport to
try to get their curling stone closest
to the center and the first to team
to get there stone closest 10 times
wins.

4. BOBSLEIGH
Two to four racers push for fifty
meters and then jump into the sleigh
and turn around the track to try and
try to win gold.
5. SKELETON
To start a Skeleton the slider grabs the handles of the Skeleton and runs
for 50 meters then dives head first onto the sleigh and shift their body
slightly to turn.
6. Parallel Giant Slalom
Two snowboarders race head to head
through a turning series of turning
gates. The fastest goes through to the
next round. The winner competes in a
total of 9 runs.
7. The Luge
The racers begin sitting down in the fiber-
glass sleigh. They pull on the fixed
handles made in the ice. After the
explosive start they use spiked gloves on
the ice surface for extra acceleration.
8. Freestyle Skiing Mogul
Athletes decide out of four lines which they will ski down on the mogul
course. After the start sign they ski down a steep hill and over a series
of moguls (offset bumps) as high as 2.1 meters spaced between 4 to 5
meters apart.
9. Super-G
•Racers race down a
steep slope. They can
reach around 130 km
to 290 km.
10. BIATHLON
The skiing requires fast and
demanding skill while the the rifle
shooting requires aim and control.
You ski round a 2.5 km track and
you shoot at target as big as a full
toilet roll and do it 5 times.
11. Ice Hockey
The 12 Men teams playoff
in a round robin like
tournament. They Play in
ti$ Fu$ time say if the
score was 2 a$ there would
be another game in ti$
some one scores a goal or if
a team gets 10 penalties
the other team wins. The
top teams %om round
robin go to the playoff
rounds.

•Sumi’s name comes from the Salish word “Sumesh means guardian spirit.
• Sumi takes his part very seriously.
•He works very hard to protect the land. sumi is a young bird and looks after creatures
of his homeland.
•Sumi is a great fan of the Paralympic Games. He’s desperate to learn all the sports, so
he can play and race with his friends all winter long.
• His dream is to share his forest to the rest of his homeland.
•His favorite food is hot cocoa. His hobbies are alpine skiing, flying over the cost mountain

15. about quatchi
•Quatchi is a young sasquatch, also known as the legendary bigfoot.
•Who comes from the Pacific Northwest's forests.
•Although nervous, Quatchi enjoys making new friends and exploring his homeland.
•He loves hockey and hopes to some day became a goalie, but his large size and general clumsiness make it difficult for him.
16. About Miga
•Miga is a sea bear who lives off the British Columbia coast with her family pod. Based on a 1st Nation's legend, Orca whales are thought to
transform into bears when they reach land.
• Miga is a blend of Orca and Kermode bear, a cream color sub-species of black bear found only on the Western British Columbia coast.
•Miga is full of energy and enjoys surfing big waves during the summer. When she reached land, she discovered that people could actually surf
during the winter on snow. Miga immediately fell in love with snowboarding and surfing.
