The background of Rakuten's all-English



●   Globalization of business is progressing,So company needs globalized
    information systems that support it. as well human resources, promotion
    system required for a globalization.



●   Be moved to run the company's overseas expansion and become a truly
    global company. This is Rakuten's purpose.
Rakuten's English business strategy



●   Formally to transition into All-English language from July 2012. This means
    that Japanese people also speak English, and use English on all locations.



●   Transplanted the Japanese know-how abroad and make business smooth,
    make direct exchange possible that was through the interpreter until now.
Other company's English business strategy



●   There is no notion of global human resources. If company needs people to
    use English in the services performed in the English-speaking world,
    adopt the native English speaker in English-speaking countries. If carried
    out in mainland China, the Chinese adopted.


●   Necessary human resources in that country Is not foster. It is gain from
    the country.
The difference of Rakuten and other
company

Rakuten:Develop human resources that can play an active role in the world
based on the notion of global human resources.



Other company: Although train the skills as a consultant, but do not nurture
global human resources instead of teaching English. other company will adopt
the people speak English. That's all.



They are too different.
The risk of Rakuten's all-English


●   All-English is not very important, the method seems to be the most efficient
    in the simplistic thinking. Rakuten plan and carry out the plan during two
    years, Rakuten do things too hastily. This is because I think the training of
    human resources is incomplete.



●   Rakuten's chief executive officer Mikitani said, "Executive officers who can
    not speak English two years later everyone is fired." This term is also
    negative for the effort of the past.
The Risk of Rakuten's all-English


●   Things and to execute from one stage to the next in sequence . As a result
    of the execution, the employee who is not good at English may receive a
    lower rating. It could lead to a decrease in motivation, and adversely affect
    to the manage a business.



●   To master the English language is really difficult. If you do not spend a lot

    English skills of employees up, employees would not learn significant
    ability to business. As a result, Rakuten will also lose the vitality of the
    entire company
