What are the qualifi cations about?
The Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce qualification is
designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young
people from birth to 19 years. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas
and is spilt into three pathways: Early Learning and Childcare, Social Care, Learning and
Development Support Services.
Who are the qualifi cations for?
They are for anyone who works or wants to work at a supervisory level in the children
and young people’s workforce, for example you may wish to become a Pre-school
Worker, Practitioner in a Children’s Centre, Practitioner in Day Nursery, Nursery School
or Reception Class in Primary School, Registered Child-minder or Nanny, Supporting
Teaching and Learning Worker, Foster Carer, Children and Families Social Worker,
Registered Manager of a Children’s Homes (or Deputy and Assistant Manager),
Residential Childcare Worker, Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service
Advisor, Youth Worker or Learning Mentor
