3. The future of education inspection and understanding the
changes https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-future-
of-education-inspection-understanding-the-changes outlines
some of the key changes in the Common Inspection Framework
(CIF)
Ofsted have included a new key judgment that is personal
development, behaviour and welfare. To make judgments on
this strand inspectors will focus on the learners taking pride in
their work, work experience opportunities, how well the learners
develop their English, maths and PSE skills and Safeguarding.
Within this new CIF much greater importance has been put on
safeguarding issues; whether the learner feels safe, who to
report a safeguarding issue to and how to protect themselves.
To understand this strand in full please read pages 44- 46 in the
CIF.
4. All Training providers have a duty to safeguard their
students, Prevent is about safeguarding our students to keep
them both safe and within the law. The Prevent Duty is not
about preventing students from having political and religious
views and concerns but about supporting them to use those
concerns or act on them in non-extremist ways. Providers
from across the sector will find resources on the website
indicated on the next page to support them in adopting the
Prevent Duty.
