2. What are NEETs?
NEETs are people who are 14-19
(up to 25 with a learning disability)
who are ‘Not in Education, Employment or Training.’

What we can offer
5. Pre-employment Training
This is training to give you the theoretical skills that
you need to successfully gain and maintain
employment within an organisation.
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are on the job training and learning
which combine real work experience with further study.
The majority (if not all of the course is taught in the
place of work) and like a regular employee you will
have the bonus of earning while you learn and
having paid holidays.
6. Traineeships
Traineeships are designed for young people who
don’t have the experience or skills to be accepted
onto an Apprenticeship straight away.
Traineeships offer work experience and functional skills
to make sure that the young person has all the skills
they need to gain an Apprenticeship. Traineeships can
lead to an Apprenticeship in that company.
Functional Skills
Functional Skills are about attaining Level 2 and 3
qualifications in Maths, English and IT.
These are essential skills for any workplace.
Having them will raise chances of employment and
make you a more competent worker.
7. Mentoring and Coaching
You will be assigned an advisor who will help you
with IAG (information, advice and guidance)
and personalise your case.
Life Skills Development - e.g.
Confidence Building
Sometimes there are barriers to us gaining
employment such as self confidence, family issues,
understanding of the working world etc.
Our advisors are trained to help you identify
and overcome those barriers
8. Study Programme
The study programme helps young people to gain
the skills that they need for employment with
an intensive course and IAG.
CV Writing/Interview Practice
Our advisors can help you work on your CV,
offering you guidance on how to make it more
appealing to potential employers.
Once you have gained an interview we can also
help you practice for it to make sure that you have
all the correct answers to wow the employer.
