TYPES OF BANK ACCOUNTS
A) Basic savings
bank deposit Acc
It does not have a
minimum balance,
instead it has a
maximum balance to
be maintained. The
holder will get an ATM
cum Debit Card.
B) Basic saving bank
deposit accounts
Small scheme
It is considered as
normal banking
service available to
all. It does not have
the requirement of
any minimum balance
1. SAVING ACCOUNTS
 ANY RESIDENT INDIVIDUAL, SINGLE ACCOUNTS, TWO OR
MORE INDIVIDUALS IN JOINT ACCOUNTS, ASSOCIATIONS,CLUBS
ETC., ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ACCOUNT.
 MODEST CREDIT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE.
 TWO FREE CHEQUE BOOKS ARE ISSUED EVERY YEAR.
 INTERNET BANKING FACILITY IS PROVIDED.
 NEFT, BILL PAYMENT, MOBILE RECHARGE ETC., ARE PROVIDED.
2. REGULAR SAVINGS BANK ACCOUNT
 THE CURRENT ACCOUNT INCLUDES DEPOSITS, WITHDRAWAL,
AND CONTRA TRANSACTIONS.
 THEY ARE ALSO CALLED DEMAND DEPOSIT ACCOUNTS.
 IT CAN BE OPENED IN MOST COMERCIAL BANKS.
 IT BEING A ZERO-ACCOUNT IS ASSOCIATED WITH HUGE
TRANSACTIONS ON A REGULAR BASIS.
3. CURRENT ACCOUNT
 IT’S A SPECIAL KIND OF TERM DEPOSIT OFFERED BY BANKS.
 IT HELPS PEOPLE WITH REGULAR INCOMES TO DEPOSIT A
FIXED AMOUNT EVERY MONTH
 THEY EARN INTEREST AT THE RATE APPLICABLE TO FIXED
DEPOSITS.
 IN SOME BANKS, FOR ONLINE RD, THE MINIMUM TENURE MAY
BE 12 MONTHS.
4. RECURRING DEPOSIT ACCOUNT
A) SHORT DEPOSIT
RECEIPT
They accept deposits
from customers
varying from 7 days to
maximum 10 years.
The minimum amount
that can be deposited
under this scheme is
5 lakh RS.
B) FIXED DEPOSIT
RECEIPT
Any resident
individual, minors,
clubs etc., are eligible
for this account. The
minimum FDR in
urban areas is Rs.
10,000 and in rural
areas is Rs. 5000.
5. FIXED DEPOSIT ACCOUNT
 ITS USED TO CONDUCT STRESS FREE TRANSACTIONS ON THE
SHARES.
 FOR OPENING THE ACCOUNT, INDIVIDUAL HAS TO FILL 2
FORMS SUBMIT THE PHOTO ALONG WITH PHOTOCOPY PF
VOTER ID/PASSPORT/ ADHAAR/ LICENSE. AND DEMAT
ACCOUNT NUMBER WILL BE PROVIDED.
6. DEMAT ACCOUNT
 IT’S A PAPER BOOK USED TO RECORD BANK OR BUILDING
SOCIETY TRANSACTIONS ON A DEPOSIT ACCOUNT.
TRADITIONALLY, A PASSBOOK IS USED FOR ACCOUNTS WITH A
LOW TRANSACTION VOLUME, SUCH AS SAVINGS ACCOUNTS.
PASSBOOK
 A CHEQUE IS A DOCUMENT WHICH ORDERS BANK TO PAY A
SPECIFIC AMOUNT OF MONEY.
 A CHECKBOOK IS A SMALL FOLDER CONTAINING PREPINTED
PAPER INSTRUMENTS ISSUED TO CHECKING ACCOUNT
HOLDERS AND USED TO PAY FOR GOODS OR SERVICES.
