Evaluation Of Feedback on the Pitch
1. What do you think of my pitch?
2. What was the strength of my pitch? And Why?
3. What was the weakness of my pitch? And Why?
4. Is there anything, which I could add to the front
cover and the double page spread for magazine.
5. Was my body language good or bad for my pitch?
Such as if I have made good eye contact?
6. Was the layout and style was a good idea for the
presentation? And Why?
7. Was the content for my magazine on the
presentation clear to understand? And Why?
I have decided to ask the publisher of Bauer several
questions about the pitch and my magazine, so that I will be
able to make changes to in order for them to release my
magazine to the public. This is important as I am able to find
out the positive and the negative of the pitch. This is
important as this is way for my to improve the pitch and
therefore make these changes in order to improve my
magazine. Therefore questions will asked about ways to
improve my front cover and also my double page spread of
my magazine. In addition, it will ask about my
communication skills whilst doing my pitch such as body
language or eyes contact. This will ask if the layout of my
pitch was suited. They will reveal to me the strength and
weakness of my pitch. This will help to know what I should
work on next time I will do a pitch.
These are the serval question that I will ask the publisher
of Bauer. These are questions that are easy to understand
and will enable me to get the information I will need in
order to know the overall outcome of the pitch and
EXCLUSVE magazine.
Moreover, after my pitch I have received more feedback
from my publisher in a witness statement. So that I will
know what I can improve on in my pitch as well.

Witness Statement Feedback
WWW- In the witness statement it stated that I have
use different theories in the target audience for both
magazines ideas. Also I have stated different ideas of
how I will get more females to read my music
magazine with the creative decision of adding more
females artists to magazine. I put in lots of detail of
overview of the pre- production resource and told the
publisher od the creative decision during the process
of the magazine. In addition, I have highlighted the title
of the magazine and the hidden meaning behind them.
During the pitch I have made good eye contact with
the audience and the publisher and didn’t read on the
script that much. Also when I have made my twitter
page I used an effective way to advertise my magazine
by tweeting the strapline of my magazine. In addition I
have produce a detail overview of the article content
and also I have produce a detail conclusion of the what
the magazine and why.
EBI- However the disadvantage if my pitch is that my
language for the picture wasn’t good enough as I said a
‘picture collection’ instead of saying a mood board or
when I said ‘conversion’ instead of ‘convention’. Also
on my double page spread I didn’t include convention
as it is sign of encourage for the reader to watch the
interview online. I needed to add and refer to the test
and plan photography. Also instead of saying profit and
loss it would be better if I said income or outgoing.
Also for the production plan I have to mention a launch
date.
Survey Monkey Feedback
Question One
How did you think the pitch went?
The first question will help me to gain information
about how my pitch was presented. I give thee
three opinion to fill out, which will give my an idea,
how my pitch went. One person though that my
pitch went ‘okay’ when the rest of them, who fill
out my survey monkey though my pitch was good,
as it is the highest rating. This would mean that my
pitch was high quality as everyone a part of one
person though it was good.
Question Two
What do you think about the quality of the
information
The second question is about my information in
my pitch was good quality or bad quality. There
are three opinion that my they can fill out, they
have the choice of good, okay and bad.
Everyone who fill out rated my pitch as ‘good’
and therefore I have done my research well and
presented to the highest standard.
Survey Monkey Feedback
Question three
How did you think the pitch went?
The third question that was presented to the audience who filled out the
survey. This is important because I am able to gain good part of my pitch,
so I will know the strength of the presentation. Some of the good
feedback that they was ‘LOTS! Very through coverage of both magazines
and, in particular, the magazine pages were a real highlight!’, ‘You talk a
lot about target audience breakdown for both magazines, you have an
effective to viral market your tweeting the strapline’, ‘You have talked a
lot about the media theory such as the Maslow theory and the Katz
theory’. Another pieces of feedback I got was ‘You have explain the colour
really well such as gold for the colour of celebrating. You also explain and
made a Twitter page’, ‘Like it how you mention the media theory and
relate it to the target audience, also like it how you explain the masthead
meaning’ and ‘Like how you mention the target audience theory and also
mention how you will get more female to read your magazine’.
Question Four
What didn't you like about the pitch
However, this question is about the improvement of the pitch which can be
improve for next time. This is important because I am am to gain the bad
feedback to improve the the pitch and the PowerPoint. Some of the feedback
that I have gain was ‘The proposal could of been laid out neater and also
could of said how you will market the magazine’, ‘The proposal page was hard
to read and you should make the slide neater.’ ‘The date of the magazine was
unclear as you stated the issue should be released in June 2015’ and ‘Didn't
like it how the colour scheme was the same for both magazines, the language
you use in the pitch was not professional’. In addition, there was more
feedback that I have gain such as ‘The language of the pitch such as pictures
collection instead of a mood board or using conversion instead of convention’
and ‘See Witness Statement feedback in terms of EBI’.
Survey Monkey Feedback
Question Five
Would you publish my magazine?
This question is about if they would publish in my magazine. This is
important because this reveal that everyone who filled out the would
publish my music magazine. This highlighted that the information,
which I have layout on the pitch was so good and so much detail that
the publisher have confident that my magazine will sale. This would
be that my magazine would be good enough to sale to the general
public and also this would mean that my magazine have high quality
information which will appeal to the general public.
Question Six
Do you think that I have made the correct choice about choosing
EXLUSIVE magazine over E magazine.
I have created two magazine, which contain of front and double
page spread. The final magazine is EXLUSIVE, as I thought it look
more professional and contain the higher quality of information.
Everyone who filled out this question on Survey Monkey though
that I have made the correct chose of EXCLUSIVE magazine over
E magazine. This is important because everyone support my
decision of choosing EXCLUSIVE, as the design which I have
made was better than the design for E magazine.
Survey Monkey Feedback
Question Seven
If you want to say more about my pitch, leave a comment?
This question would allow the target audience to add extra
comments to my feedback if they need to say something that my
other question didn’t allow to view their opinion. There allow two
people who left a comment for this question as the rest of them
didn’t know what to say for this question. The first comment was ‘A
superb effort and clearly a huge amount of effort went in’, as this
person see that I have put effort into my presentation and my pitch.
The another comment that was left for this question was ‘ You done
your work well’, this mean that this person think that I have put a lot
effort into my work.
Question Eight
Did I cover all the needed area in the pitch?
This question would answer if I covered all areas within the
pitch such as the media theory, the detailed about pre-
production resource and I went in good detail about the
house style. By looking at the results you can see that I
people who answered my questionnaire think that I
covered all area which I needed within my pitch. This
would mean that my pitch come in a lot of detail and
therefore covered all of the needed area within my pitch.
As they recognised that I have put a lot of effort within the
my pitch.
Survey Monkey Feedback
Question Nine
One a scale from 1-10, was my pitch convicting?
This question is rating my pitch out of 10 so that I can see if my
pitch went well or if people think that my pitch went bad and
therefore I can see their opinion of my pitch. On the scale, 1
would be rate the worst, which mean my pitch went bad, 5
would be rate as average ,which would mean that my pitch was
okay. Finally, if I was rated a 10 on my scale, which mean my
pitch was a good and therefore the best rated score. So you
see from the graph that two people rated mu pitch as a 7,
which mean it was above average. However, one person rated
my pitch as a 9 and another person rated my pitch as a
10,which means, I have mean that publisher feel comfortable
within my pitch.
Question Ten
Was my pitch clear and could you understand all of the
content?
This question is about if I have presented my pitch well and
also if I have communicate the content to the publisher well
so that they could understand my pitch well. By the graph,
you can see that everyone though that I have communicate
the content well and I have covered everything that I needed.
This is important because the understand everything that I
was on my presentation, which is important as it have all of
the information that the publisher needed to know about my
magazine before deciding to publish it with Bauer.
Survey Monkey Feedback
Conclusion for the Survey Monkey Feedback
By analysing the results from the survey I can see that people thought that my pitch was fill with
useful information about the magazine’s style, process and design that will make the magazine
more publishable for the publisher to publish and sale to the general public. By gathering these
results I can get a clear understanding of what my target audience thought of my pitch and the way
I have present it to them and how they are rating my pitch.
The Survey Monkey would allow the them to write what was good about pitch and what I need to
improve on, this would allow m to make these corrections to my presentation, so that it would
improve my overall results.
The Survey Monkey allow the target audience to view their opinion about my pitch and the
presentation, and I understand the strength and the weakness of my pitch. Therefore, I can see if
my magazine good enough for Bauer Media Group.
Pitch Improvement
The profit and loss correction
Another improve that I have receive
from my witness statement is to change
the wording of the subtitle profit and
loss to income and outgoing. It is
important to make these changes to it
will seem like a real business and also
the wording will seem more
professional. It is important to use these
wording of income and outgoing is
because it will make out music magazine
more investable for the publisher to
invest in as we are able to use proper
languages for these terms.

Launch Date for Production Plan
One of my improve from the witness
statement from the publisher is that I
needed to mention the launch date
for the magazine. You are able to see
that I have stated to launch date of
the music magazine and the reason
behind the date. You are also able to
see that when I revealed the launch
data I have changed the from to gold
and bold, so that it will stand out

Pitch ImprovementFront Cover Correction
When I received feedback from my Front Cover , I had to change the cover to make it more suited to publisher and therefore this could improve the sale figure of my magazine
as it will look more professional. One of the feature that need to improved is the increase the size of the barcode and also add the publisher logo (Bauer) onto the magazine. this
is important because the magazine have to show a connection between the magazine and its publisher. Also I have to change the date of the issue date in order to fit within the
production plan.
In addition, I have decide to change the eye colour of the image because I want her eyes to stand out from the magazine and therefore make her eyes more shocking when the
target audience read the front cover. The colour of the eyes that have been changes is from brown to green eyes.
I have change the colour background from white to grey to black and change it to light grey and the dark grey. This is important because I have change the background because
to relate to my magazine of inspiration (Q magazine). Also, this could make my magazine to seem like it have a rock theme and people could get the wrong idea of what music
information will contain of. This is why the background of the magazine have a naturel as my magazine will contain if all music genre.
I have also change the coverline information and the different colours of the coverline. This is important because my magazine will feature the range of colours and not all ways
features the colour schemes in the magazine. Also also made the left side of my magazine to have all of the main story and on the right side there are just mention one main
story about rating new albums. Also I have use different colours on my coverline line such as an olive green because it will appeal to more people as it will not be just red and
gold, which could make it look unprofessional.
For the main headline and the main quote are connected together. I have created the main headline to white. Firstly, I have made the name “NICOLE” and then made the name
“ANGUS” normally. I also made the main quote on top of the “ANGUS” and then change it from an olive colour.
In addition, I have moved the puff promotion, from the bottom left side and move it from the top right side under the strapline so that it will be more like my magazine of
inspiration (Q magazine). I also change the prize of the puff promotion from winning an apple product to win free iTune because this prize will relate to music more and
therefore help the my magazine with further sales because as the prizes from the magazine can get bigger and better..
Moreover, the website link has moved next to the puff promotion and I have place the website link under the masthead

Double Page Spread Correction
When the publisher gave me feedback for my double page spread in order for the publisher to support my magazine and therefore know
what I have to change in order to make it look professional. For the facts about the new album box, it was suggest that I should add a black
drop shadow around the red box so it will stand out on the page. Also it was suggest that I should add bullet point instead of have sentences
and I should also change the font of the text as well.
In addition, the new album box had an effect of the black shadow because the red box will stand out and therefore the target audience will be
able and notice the fun facts about the album about the artists will released.
Also improvement on the double page spread is the I have to neatened up the the bottom section of the page. As the masthead, the page
number, the social symbols and also the web address are too close together. This is is why I have moved the web address on the left side and
I have made the social media symbol the same size. In addition, I have made the decrease the black stroke on the masthead. This is important
because you would be able to see the detail of the masthead on the page. Also decrease the black stroke on the page number because the
masthead and the page number will have the same black stroke and it is also easier to read.
You can also see that I have place my masthead across the black pattern background, so that this will be a type of brand awareness, as this
will add more detail to the magazine and also this will make my double page spread to look fun and creative because of this decision.
In addition, I have moved the EXCLUSIVE website from line under the social media symbols and moved it under the interview.

different job in order for the magazine will be ready to sold to the public. In sections of the production plan, their will be the day and date, the jobs

time to compete a magazine because the editor will have time to look through the magazine and able to make changes before it is release to the public. I will
use high quality software and equipment which my staff will be trained to use as, so the magazine will look professional.

Q magazine have the readership of £213000 people.
171000 of the readership are males whilst 42000 are
female.
Q magazine is a male dominated magazine.
This will features more males artist and bands on the
front cover or will have female artist and band showing
them in a different way.
This is why in my magazine it will have equal readership
between males and females, as the picture of the male
and female artist will be treated the same.
This is why my magazine may receive higher sales than Q
magazine because if it will a higher readership of females
target audience.

Legal and Ethical Issues
IPSO
The IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation) used to
be the PCC (press complaints commission).
This reason why the PCC was changed to IPSO to abide by the
Leveson principle following report by Sir Brian Leveson in
November 2012.
This is the form that someone will fill out to make a complaint
against a publication.
It state will have complaint is and also what publication the
complaint is against such as a newspaper or a magazine.
When producing a magazine, you have to take in
consideration the editor code to set professional standards.
Legal and Ethical Issues
Make a complain
1. Initial assessment
When the complaint is receives, they will have to check, which remit the complaint is under and also check if the complaint will be a breach of the
code. If the complaint is pointless, then IPSO will write to the person and explain to them why.
2. Referral to the publication
However, if the complain is a breach of the code then IPSO will be passed the complaint to the editor and then the issue should be resolves in 28
days directly to the person who made the complaint.
3. The investigation
If the complaint is not resolve after 28 days with the company, then the Complaints Committee will have to write to the editor of the company. The
Complaints Committee will include display specific question to the exchanging. This will ask you more questions about the complaints.
4. Adjudication by the Complaints Committee
If your complaints are still remain unresolved. The Complaints Committee will have to decides if the complain is a breach of the Editors’ Code. The
Complaints Committee will be will have to review the complaint and also have to be seen at both side of the person who made the complaint to the
publication’s point of views. A finally decision will be made if the complaint is the Editor’s code and the reason why.
5. Remedies
When the Complaint committee decided the complaint id a breach against the breached. The company must correct the situation and the
Adjudication (a legal action that the judge will look at the evidence and argument) by the Complaint Committee.
6. Review of the process
The complaint will have to go through the process of step 2 to step 5 again. However, if the person is understand with the decision, then they have
the chose to get the complaint to be looked at the Complaint Reviewers. So the Complaint Reviewers will have the detail to be filled out by the IPSO
Board members.
7. Complaints, which are not pursued
The IPSO expects will have the company and the person who made the complaint will join together to look at the complaints. Responded wouldn’t
come back immediately, but they will write to the person as soon as they can.
8. Unacceptable behaviour by complainants and vexatious complaints
The person who made the complaint could have mix emotion such as highly distress and would need support. When someone made a complaint,
they will have access to the IPSO’s Executive staff. The staff will not accept bad behaviour from the person who made the complaint.

Legal and Ethical Issues- Water Mark
Watermark:
The definition of the watermark is when a faint design, pattern and the manufacture name
that would be visible or associated with the manufacture. This is important because people
won’t have the rights to use these images and claim it as their own, as the company will have
the right to sue the person. Some watermark would have the copyright symbol, which mean
the image will be protected by the intellectual property, as they will have the right to sue the
person.
If someone what to watermark an image through their official website of
https://www.water.ws/plans , you are able to see that that someone can purchase these
packages. There are three different package on their website, that someone can purchase.
One the official website, the basic package cost $0 per month. This package has 5 photo is
limited to watermark and all of the special features are locked. The second package on their
website is called the premium package. This cost $3.99 per month, as it cost originally cost
$10 per month. You are able to watermark unlimited photo, all of the would be unlocked and
you are able to edit the photos at once such as cropping or resizing an image, apply the photo
filters and also they would be able to use the premium fonts. Finally, the the third package is
the ultimate would cost $ 16.67 per month. This could have the same features as the
watermark unlimited photo, all of the features would be unlocked and you are able to edit
the photos at once such as cropping or resizing an image, apply the photo filters, also they
would be able to use the premium fonts and also you can send the image to the multi-user
access.

Front Cover Watermark Double Page Spread Watermark
On Adobe Photoshop, I have decided to create my own
watermark images for the images that will be features in my
magazine. This is important as other people could take these
images without permission from the magazine ort the model in
the image.
This is why have designed my own watermark from these
images because other people could copy these images because
it show the ownership of the image on the watermark. In
addition, this is a good way to advertise the magazine as on the
magazine it have stated that EXCLUSIVE has official ownership
of the image. Moreover, it has sated that my image is copyright
because of the copyright symbol on the watermark. This reason
why I have decided to put the watermark across the page
instead of on top of the page, is because no one would be able
to use this image. This is important as they are unable to crop
out the watermark on the image as it is big and across the main
image. One example, for the double page spread, the
watermark is directly across the image, with the copyright
symbol and the name of my magazine, EXCLUSIVE.
https://www.water.ws/plans
Legal and Ethical Issues
Copyright
The definition of copyright is when a print, publish, film, music or something have a legal right or
exclusivity to a person or a company. This mean if anyone uses the material without permission,
then the person or the company have the legal right to sue them.
This is the copyright symbol. This is important because if
magazine use this symbol it means the picture or the
information is exclusive to them and therefore no one can use it
without their permission.
The copyright would relate to my magazine because if my image will have
a copyright symbol on it so that no one can steal the image and claim it as
their own. If someone did that, our magazine company will have the right
to sue them as they didn’t get our permission to use the image. In
addition, if our music magazine company would want to use an image
what have the copyright right symbol on. This would need that I would
need to ask permission from the creator of the image in order for our
company to not to break the law. If the creator allows us to use the
image, this mean they have given our permission. However, if the creator
doesn’t give us their permission to use image, then we would be
breaching the law of the copyright if we do use the image anyway.

Legal and Ethical Issues
Intellectual Property
What it is?
The intellectual property is when an original idea or an original invention had been
creating than this will allow them creators to be protecting from anyone else from
using or stealing their ideas or inventions. The intellectual come in 3 forms, it is
patents, copyright and trademarks. This will allow the creator to protect that invention
or idea from anyone and also if some does steal their ideas then they would be able to
sue the person(s) or company their breaching the condition.
Example
This will relate to our magazine as we have to have permission to use the images or
symbols before releasing to the public. An example of this is when using a Facebook
symbols on the magazine. This is important because EXCLUSIVE magazine have to gain
the permission of using the Facebook symbol before put it on the magazine. If
EXCLUSIVE magazine haven’t got Facebook permission and still use the symbol, then
Facebook have to right to sue out company to the breach of the intellectual property.
It is important because even so Facebook is free to sign up for an account, you have to
have permission to use the Facebook symbol on a magazine, where it will be release
to the public.

Resizing images:
When I am resizing an image I have to make sure that I’ve resize
the image to a high quality and to a professional level. By using
the ‘Ctrl’, ‘shift’ and ‘t’ on the key, they will enable the image to be
resized without and damage to the pixelate on Adobe Photoshop.
This is important because the image will keep their high quality
pixels within the image and that it would change the quality of the
image. So that the image on my magazine will be on a professional
level.
Pen tool:
I use a pen tool on my double page spread, so that the interview
won’t overlap the main image or I am able to put my drop capital
letter in the interview so that it can be a part of the interview. In
addition, it is important it use the pen tool so that I can create
neat columns for the interview. This is make the double page
spread to look professional and equal along the page. The pen
tool will help me to know where I should place my interview for
my double page spread. To use the pen tool on the Photoshop to
have to click ‘shift’ and ‘p’.
Ruler Tool.
By using the ruler tool on both on my front cover and the double
page spread, in am able to know where I should place all of my
magazine conventions. The ruler tool is important for design my
magazine because this will help me to place all of the convention
as this will help me to make for magazine to look neater such as
the coverline on my magazine will be on the same rule tool line.
To make a ruler you will have to click on ‘Ctrl’ and then ‘r’.
Afterward, drag the ruler onto the page so that you are able to
place the line wherever you want.

Permission for images
I have to make sure that I have gave my artist/model a form to fill out. This form is important
because the artists/model will have giving our their full permission of taking their image and use
it for the front cover and the double page spread. The artist will also give their permission to use
the image online as well. The artist will be aware what clothes she will be wearing, what makeup
will be used and also the location of the photograph shoot. The reason why they form have to be
fill in before any action can be taken for the photo shot because this will be proof that the artist
gave the magazine full permission to use the image of themselves and therefore they don’t have
to cause any legal difficulties for the magazine, if they was any problem which the artist have with
the image that was used.
Ares of Assessment
When looking for a location for the photo shot for my magazine, there are specific check that
need to be looked at before they can go the photo shoot for the magazine. Firstly, the risk
assessment of the photo shoot is that they have to check if the artists and the photographer are
safe to take the image. Also they will have to check for any potential hazards that could cause
help to the artist and the crew for the photo shot. They will have to check the uneven ground,
running water, the weather condition, if there any wires on the floor or if there any shape pieces
on edges in the room.
Calendar event
EXCLSUIVE magazine will first be publish in June 2016. This will be release
to the general public, so they will be able to buy the magazine. The reason
why the magazine will be release to the public in June 2016 is because
they are able to make a big deal of the magazine first issue and therefore
they are able design an concerts or a party for the magazine first issue.
Inside the puff promotion for EXCLUSIVE, the target audience are able to
enter into an competition to buy an apple product. This is important
because this will encourage the target audience to go on the EXCLSUIVE’ s
website and enter the competition. This will enable the music magazine to
be closer to the target audience. The puff promotion will change every
issue to suit the needs of the target audience. Next issue the puff
promotion could be like free concerts tickets, new albums or vouchers
from any shop.
The holiday season such as Christmas will affect the design of the
magazine such as the front cover will have a Christmas design of artists
wearing Christmas hats or artists that made their big hit of a Christmas
song such as Mariah Carey, Slade or The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl.
The Christmas season will affect the distribution of the magazine as the
staff will get two weeks off because they will be able to spend time with
their friends and families. So the January issue of the magazine will be
release to the public a week or two later as they will need to create the
magazine before they can release it.

Permission of using the image
I have to make sure that I have gave my artist/model a form to
fill out. This form is important because the artists/model will
have giving our their full permission of taking their image and
use it for the front cover and the double page spread. The artist
will also give their permission to use the image online as well.
The artist will be aware what clothes she will be wearing, what
makeup will be used and also the location of the photograph
shoot. The reason why they form have to be fill in before any
action can be taken for the photo shot because this will be proof
that the artist gave the magazine full permission to use the
image of themselves and therefore they don’t have to cause any
legal difficulties for the magazine, if they was any problem which
the artist have with the image that was used.
Areas of Assessment
When looking for a location for the photo shot for my magazine,
their are serval specific check that need to be looked at before
they can go the photo shoot for the magazine. Firstly, the risk
assessment of the phot shoot is that they have to check if the
artists and the photographer are safe to take the image. Also
they will have to check for any potential hazards that could
cause help to the artist and the crew for the photo shot. They
will have to check the uneven ground, running water, the
weather condition, if their any wires on the floor or if their any
shape pieces on edges in the room.

Software Assessment
Resizing images:
When I am resizing an image I have to make sure that I’ve resize the image to
a high quality and to a professional level. By using the ‘Ctrl’, ‘shift’ and‘t’ on
the key, they will enable the image to be resized without and damage to the
pixelate on Adobe Photoshop. This is important because the image will keep
their high quality pixels within the image and that it would change the quality
of the image. So that the image on my magazine will be on a professional
level.
Pen tool:
I use a pen tool on my double page spread, so that the interview won’t
overlap the main image or I am able to put my drop capital letter in the
interview so that it can be a part of the interview. In addition, it is important
it use the pen tool so that I can create neat columns for the interview. This is
make the double page spread to look professional and equal along the page.
The pen tool will help me to know where I should place my interview for my
double page spread.
Ruler Tool:
By using the ruler tool on both on my front cover and the double page
spread, in am able to know where I should place all of my magazine
conventions. The ruler tool is important for design my magazine because this
will help me to place all of the convention as this will help me to make for
magazine to look neater such as the coverline on my magazine will be on the
same rule tool line. To make a ruler you will have to click on ‘Ctrl’ and then ‘r’.
Afterward, drag the ruler onto the page so that you are able to place the line
wherever you want.

 Black Top
 Black faux leather
trousers
 Teal faux fur coat
 Black shoes
Technical Equipment:
 Canon DSLR camera
 Lens Cap
 Camera Bag
 Battery
 SD Card
I would have to organised the equipment before taking images for the
front cover and the double page spread . This is why I created the
equipment list so that I will know what I need before taking the image
of the model. The equipment list is apart of the prop list, as I use it for
the phot shoot. Also the costume design was also apart of the prop
list as the clothes she will be wearing will be part of the magazine.
It is important to make a prop list as I am able to plan for the shoot
and also I am able to be organised and prepare for the shoot such as
travelling to the location of the photo shoot.
Within the camera bag I am able to pack the camera and also the
camera lens cap that I will need for the photo shoot. On e of the risk
assessment that I will have to do for the cameras id that I will need to
check id the camera or the lens caps are safely packed into the bag for
travelling. This is important as if this risk assessment have not be
don’t, then there is a chance that the camera or the may be break, or
have crack on the glass so that we would be unable to do the photo
shoot without a camera.

Conclusion for LO5
I have received different feedback from my pitched that I have presented to Bauer publisher. This will enable
my to find out what I have done well in the pitch and it also go into detail about the improvement that I need
to make to my presented in order for the publisher to support my music magazine. I have received feedback
from three different forms such as the recorded interview of the pitched, the two witness statement and the
online survey monkey, which was sent to everyone who have listen to the pitch.
By looking at the answers for the Survey Monkey, I am able to analyses the results. So I am able to see what
feedback I have gain from the target audience and also the publisher.
In addition, the I have the legal and ethical slides in detail, so I would know the legal risk of having a music and
the photograph that was taken of the artist/model. I have find out the importance of asking for permission for
taking and using a photo. I also found that the punishment when these action are not followed.

  • 4. Interview Feedback Evaluation Of Feedback on the Pitch 1. What do you think of my pitch? 2. What was the strength of my pitch? And Why? 3. What was the weakness of my pitch? And Why? 4. Is there anything, which I could add to the front cover and the double page spread for magazine. 5. Was my body language good or bad for my pitch? Such as if I have made good eye contact? 6. Was the layout and style was a good idea for the presentation? And Why? 7. Was the content for my magazine on the presentation clear to understand? And Why? I have decided to ask the publisher of Bauer several questions about the pitch and my magazine, so that I will be able to make changes to in order for them to release my magazine to the public. This is important as I am able to find out the positive and the negative of the pitch. This is important as this is way for my to improve the pitch and therefore make these changes in order to improve my magazine. Therefore questions will asked about ways to improve my front cover and also my double page spread of my magazine. In addition, it will ask about my communication skills whilst doing my pitch such as body language or eyes contact. This will ask if the layout of my pitch was suited. They will reveal to me the strength and weakness of my pitch. This will help to know what I should work on next time I will do a pitch. These are the serval question that I will ask the publisher of Bauer. These are questions that are easy to understand and will enable me to get the information I will need in order to know the overall outcome of the pitch and EXCLUSVE magazine. Moreover, after my pitch I have received more feedback from my publisher in a witness statement. So that I will know what I can improve on in my pitch as well. Interview: Presentation Feedback Sophie Angus Candidate Number: 1006
  • 5. Witness Statement Feedback WWW- In the witness statement it stated that I have use different theories in the target audience for both magazines ideas. Also I have stated different ideas of how I will get more females to read my music magazine with the creative decision of adding more females artists to magazine. I put in lots of detail of overview of the pre- production resource and told the publisher od the creative decision during the process of the magazine. In addition, I have highlighted the title of the magazine and the hidden meaning behind them. During the pitch I have made good eye contact with the audience and the publisher and didn’t read on the script that much. Also when I have made my twitter page I used an effective way to advertise my magazine by tweeting the strapline of my magazine. In addition I have produce a detail overview of the article content and also I have produce a detail conclusion of the what the magazine and why. EBI- However the disadvantage if my pitch is that my language for the picture wasn’t good enough as I said a ‘picture collection’ instead of saying a mood board or when I said ‘conversion’ instead of ‘convention’. Also on my double page spread I didn’t include convention as it is sign of encourage for the reader to watch the interview online. I needed to add and refer to the test and plan photography. Also instead of saying profit and loss it would be better if I said income or outgoing. Also for the production plan I have to mention a launch date.
  • 6. Survey Monkey Feedback Question One How did you think the pitch went? The first question will help me to gain information about how my pitch was presented. I give thee three opinion to fill out, which will give my an idea, how my pitch went. One person though that my pitch went ‘okay’ when the rest of them, who fill out my survey monkey though my pitch was good, as it is the highest rating. This would mean that my pitch was high quality as everyone a part of one person though it was good. Question Two What do you think about the quality of the information The second question is about my information in my pitch was good quality or bad quality. There are three opinion that my they can fill out, they have the choice of good, okay and bad. Everyone who fill out rated my pitch as ‘good’ and therefore I have done my research well and presented to the highest standard.
  • 7. Survey Monkey Feedback Question three How did you think the pitch went? The third question that was presented to the audience who filled out the survey. This is important because I am able to gain good part of my pitch, so I will know the strength of the presentation. Some of the good feedback that they was ‘LOTS! Very through coverage of both magazines and, in particular, the magazine pages were a real highlight!’, ‘You talk a lot about target audience breakdown for both magazines, you have an effective to viral market your tweeting the strapline’, ‘You have talked a lot about the media theory such as the Maslow theory and the Katz theory’. Another pieces of feedback I got was ‘You have explain the colour really well such as gold for the colour of celebrating. You also explain and made a Twitter page’, ‘Like it how you mention the media theory and relate it to the target audience, also like it how you explain the masthead meaning’ and ‘Like how you mention the target audience theory and also mention how you will get more female to read your magazine’. Question Four What didn't you like about the pitch However, this question is about the improvement of the pitch which can be improve for next time. This is important because I am am to gain the bad feedback to improve the the pitch and the PowerPoint. Some of the feedback that I have gain was ‘The proposal could of been laid out neater and also could of said how you will market the magazine’, ‘The proposal page was hard to read and you should make the slide neater.’ ‘The date of the magazine was unclear as you stated the issue should be released in June 2015’ and ‘Didn't like it how the colour scheme was the same for both magazines, the language you use in the pitch was not professional’. In addition, there was more feedback that I have gain such as ‘The language of the pitch such as pictures collection instead of a mood board or using conversion instead of convention’ and ‘See Witness Statement feedback in terms of EBI’.
  • 8. Survey Monkey Feedback Question Five Would you publish my magazine? This question is about if they would publish in my magazine. This is important because this reveal that everyone who filled out the would publish my music magazine. This highlighted that the information, which I have layout on the pitch was so good and so much detail that the publisher have confident that my magazine will sale. This would be that my magazine would be good enough to sale to the general public and also this would mean that my magazine have high quality information which will appeal to the general public. Question Six Do you think that I have made the correct choice about choosing EXLUSIVE magazine over E magazine. I have created two magazine, which contain of front and double page spread. The final magazine is EXLUSIVE, as I thought it look more professional and contain the higher quality of information. Everyone who filled out this question on Survey Monkey though that I have made the correct chose of EXCLUSIVE magazine over E magazine. This is important because everyone support my decision of choosing EXCLUSIVE, as the design which I have made was better than the design for E magazine.
  • 9. Survey Monkey Feedback Question Seven If you want to say more about my pitch, leave a comment? This question would allow the target audience to add extra comments to my feedback if they need to say something that my other question didn’t allow to view their opinion. There allow two people who left a comment for this question as the rest of them didn’t know what to say for this question. The first comment was ‘A superb effort and clearly a huge amount of effort went in’, as this person see that I have put effort into my presentation and my pitch. The another comment that was left for this question was ‘ You done your work well’, this mean that this person think that I have put a lot effort into my work. Question Eight Did I cover all the needed area in the pitch? This question would answer if I covered all areas within the pitch such as the media theory, the detailed about pre- production resource and I went in good detail about the house style. By looking at the results you can see that I people who answered my questionnaire think that I covered all area which I needed within my pitch. This would mean that my pitch come in a lot of detail and therefore covered all of the needed area within my pitch. As they recognised that I have put a lot of effort within the my pitch.
  • 10. Survey Monkey Feedback Question Nine One a scale from 1-10, was my pitch convicting? This question is rating my pitch out of 10 so that I can see if my pitch went well or if people think that my pitch went bad and therefore I can see their opinion of my pitch. On the scale, 1 would be rate the worst, which mean my pitch went bad, 5 would be rate as average ,which would mean that my pitch was okay. Finally, if I was rated a 10 on my scale, which mean my pitch was a good and therefore the best rated score. So you see from the graph that two people rated mu pitch as a 7, which mean it was above average. However, one person rated my pitch as a 9 and another person rated my pitch as a 10,which means, I have mean that publisher feel comfortable within my pitch. Question Ten Was my pitch clear and could you understand all of the content? This question is about if I have presented my pitch well and also if I have communicate the content to the publisher well so that they could understand my pitch well. By the graph, you can see that everyone though that I have communicate the content well and I have covered everything that I needed. This is important because the understand everything that I was on my presentation, which is important as it have all of the information that the publisher needed to know about my magazine before deciding to publish it with Bauer.
  • 11. Survey Monkey Feedback Conclusion for the Survey Monkey Feedback By analysing the results from the survey I can see that people thought that my pitch was fill with useful information about the magazine’s style, process and design that will make the magazine more publishable for the publisher to publish and sale to the general public. By gathering these results I can get a clear understanding of what my target audience thought of my pitch and the way I have present it to them and how they are rating my pitch. The Survey Monkey would allow the them to write what was good about pitch and what I need to improve on, this would allow m to make these corrections to my presentation, so that it would improve my overall results. The Survey Monkey allow the target audience to view their opinion about my pitch and the presentation, and I understand the strength and the weakness of my pitch. Therefore, I can see if my magazine good enough for Bauer Media Group.
  • 12. Pitch Improvement The profit and loss correction Another improve that I have receive from my witness statement is to change the wording of the subtitle profit and loss to income and outgoing. It is important to make these changes to it will seem like a real business and also the wording will seem more professional. It is important to use these wording of income and outgoing is because it will make out music magazine more investable for the publisher to invest in as we are able to use proper languages for these terms. • 13. Pitch Improvement Launch Date for Production Plan One of my improve from the witness statement from the publisher is that I needed to mention the launch date for the magazine. You are able to see that I have stated to launch date of the music magazine and the reason behind the date. You are also able to see that when I revealed the launch data I have changed the from to gold and bold, so that it will stand out Before Feedback After Feedback
  • 14. Pitch ImprovementFront Cover Correction When I received feedback from my Front Cover , I had to change the cover to make it more suited to publisher and therefore this could improve the sale figure of my magazine as it will look more professional. One of the feature that need to improved is the increase the size of the barcode and also add the publisher logo (Bauer) onto the magazine. this is important because the magazine have to show a connection between the magazine and its publisher. Also I have to change the date of the issue date in order to fit within the production plan. In addition, I have decide to change the eye colour of the image because I want her eyes to stand out from the magazine and therefore make her eyes more shocking when the target audience read the front cover. The colour of the eyes that have been changes is from brown to green eyes. I have change the colour background from white to grey to black and change it to light grey and the dark grey. This is important because I have change the background because to relate to my magazine of inspiration (Q magazine). Also, this could make my magazine to seem like it have a rock theme and people could get the wrong idea of what music information will contain of. This is why the background of the magazine have a naturel as my magazine will contain if all music genre. I have also change the coverline information and the different colours of the coverline. This is important because my magazine will feature the range of colours and not all ways features the colour schemes in the magazine. Also also made the left side of my magazine to have all of the main story and on the right side there are just mention one main story about rating new albums. Also I have use different colours on my coverline line such as an olive green because it will appeal to more people as it will not be just red and gold, which could make it look unprofessional. For the main headline and the main quote are connected together. I have created the main headline to white. Firstly, I have made the name “NICOLE” and then made the name “ANGUS” normally. I also made the main quote on top of the “ANGUS” and then change it from an olive colour. In addition, I have moved the puff promotion, from the bottom left side and move it from the top right side under the strapline so that it will be more like my magazine of inspiration (Q magazine). I also change the prize of the puff promotion from winning an apple product to win free iTune because this prize will relate to music more and therefore help the my magazine with further sales because as the prizes from the magazine can get bigger and better.. Moreover, the website link has moved next to the puff promotion and I have place the website link under the masthead Before Feedback After Feedback Brown eye Green Eye
  • 15. Pitch Improvement Double Page Spread Correction When the publisher gave me feedback for my double page spread in order for the publisher to support my magazine and therefore know what I have to change in order to make it look professional. For the facts about the new album box, it was suggest that I should add a black drop shadow around the red box so it will stand out on the page. Also it was suggest that I should add bullet point instead of have sentences and I should also change the font of the text as well. In addition, the new album box had an effect of the black shadow because the red box will stand out and therefore the target audience will be able and notice the fun facts about the album about the artists will released. Also improvement on the double page spread is the I have to neatened up the the bottom section of the page. As the masthead, the page number, the social symbols and also the web address are too close together. This is is why I have moved the web address on the left side and I have made the social media symbol the same size. In addition, I have made the decrease the black stroke on the masthead. This is important because you would be able to see the detail of the masthead on the page. Also decrease the black stroke on the page number because the masthead and the page number will have the same black stroke and it is also easier to read. You can also see that I have place my masthead across the black pattern background, so that this will be a type of brand awareness, as this will add more detail to the magazine and also this will make my double page spread to look fun and creative because of this decision. In addition, I have moved the EXCLUSIVE website from line under the social media symbols and moved it under the interview. Before Feedback After Feedback

In sections of the production plan, their will be the day and date, the jobs description and also who the job will be complete by. The creation and the design of my magazine will take fours weeks to compete, I think this will be a good time to compete a magazine because the editor will have time to look through the magazine and able to make changes before it is release to the public. I will use high quality software and equipment which my staff will be trained to use as, so the magazine will look professional.

Q magazine is a male dominated magazine. This will features more males artist and bands on the front cover or will have female artist and band showing them in a different way. This is why in my magazine it will have equal readership between males and females, as the picture of the male and female artist will be treated the same. This is why my magazine may receive higher sales than Q magazine because if it will a higher readership of females target audience.

  • 25. Legal and Ethical Issues- Water Mark Watermark: The definition of the watermark is when a faint design, pattern and the manufacture name that would be visible or associated with the manufacture. This is important because people won’t have the rights to use these images and claim it as their own, as the company will have the right to sue the person. Some watermark would have the copyright symbol, which mean the image will be protected by the intellectual property, as they will have the right to sue the person. If someone what to watermark an image through their official website of https://www.water.ws/plans , you are able to see that that someone can purchase these packages. There are three different package on their website, that someone can purchase. One the official website, the basic package cost $0 per month. This package has 5 photo is limited to watermark and all of the special features are locked. The second package on their website is called the premium package. This cost $3.99 per month, as it cost originally cost $10 per month. You are able to watermark unlimited photo, all of the would be unlocked and you are able to edit the photos at once such as cropping or resizing an image, apply the photo filters and also they would be able to use the premium fonts. Finally, the the third package is the ultimate would cost $ 16.67 per month. This could have the same features as the watermark unlimited photo, all of the features would be unlocked and you are able to edit the photos at once such as cropping or resizing an image, apply the photo filters, also they would be able to use the premium fonts and also you can send the image to the multi-user access. This example of a water, which was found on the internet Source: http://www120.lunapic.com/editor/?action=watermark Front Cover Watermark Double Page Spread Watermark On Adobe Photoshop, I have decided to create my own watermark images for the images that will be features in my magazine. This is important as other people could take these images without permission from the magazine ort the model in the image. This is why have designed my own watermark from these images because other people could copy these images because it show the ownership of the image on the watermark. In addition, this is a good way to advertise the magazine as on the magazine it have stated that EXCLUSIVE has official ownership of the image. Moreover, it has sated that my image is copyright because of the copyright symbol on the watermark. This reason why I have decided to put the watermark across the page instead of on top of the page, is because no one would be able to use this image. This is important as they are unable to crop out the watermark on the image as it is big and across the main image. One example, for the double page spread, the watermark is directly across the image, with the copyright symbol and the name of my magazine, EXCLUSIVE. https://www.water.ws/plans
  • 26. Legal and Ethical Issues Copyright The definition of copyright is when a print, publish, film, music or something have a legal right or exclusivity to a person or a company. This mean if anyone uses the material without permission, then the person or the company have the legal right to sue them. This is the copyright symbol. This is important because if magazine use this symbol it means the picture or the information is exclusive to them and therefore no one can use it without their permission. The copyright would relate to my magazine because if my image will have a copyright symbol on it so that no one can steal the image and claim it as their own. If someone did that, our magazine company will have the right to sue them as they didn’t get our permission to use the image. In addition, if our music magazine company would want to use an image what have the copyright right symbol on. This would need that I would need to ask permission from the creator of the image in order for our company to not to break the law. If the creator allows us to use the image, this mean they have given our permission. However, if the creator doesn’t give us their permission to use image, then we would be breaching the law of the copyright if we do use the image anyway.

  • 28. Legal and Ethical Issues Intellectual Property What it is? The intellectual property is when an original idea or an original invention had been creating than this will allow them creators to be protecting from anyone else from using or stealing their ideas or inventions. The intellectual come in 3 forms, it is patents, copyright and trademarks. This will allow the creator to protect that invention or idea from anyone and also if some does steal their ideas then they would be able to sue the person(s) or company their breaching the condition. Example This will relate to our magazine as we have to have permission to use the images or symbols before releasing to the public. An example of this is when using a Facebook symbols on the magazine. This is important because EXCLUSIVE magazine have to gain the permission of using the Facebook symbol before put it on the magazine. If EXCLUSIVE magazine haven’t got Facebook permission and still use the symbol, then Facebook have to right to sue out company to the breach of the intellectual property. It is important because even so Facebook is free to sign up for an account, you have to have permission to use the Facebook symbol on a magazine, where it will be release to the public.

  • 30. Legal and Ethical Issues Risk Assessment Permission for images I have to make sure that I have gave my artist/model a form to fill out. This form is important because the artists/model will have giving our their full permission of taking their image and use it for the front cover and the double page spread. The artist will also give their permission to use the image online as well. The artist will be aware what clothes she will be wearing, what makeup will be used and also the location of the photograph shoot. The reason why they form have to be fill in before any action can be taken for the photo shot because this will be proof that the artist gave the magazine full permission to use the image of themselves and therefore they don’t have to cause any legal difficulties for the magazine, if they was any problem which the artist have with the image that was used. Ares of Assessment When looking for a location for the photo shot for my magazine, there are specific check that need to be looked at before they can go the photo shoot for the magazine. Firstly, the risk assessment of the photo shoot is that they have to check if the artists and the photographer are safe to take the image. Also they will have to check for any potential hazards that could cause help to the artist and the crew for the photo shot. They will have to check the uneven ground, running water, the weather condition, if there any wires on the floor or if there any shape pieces on edges in the room.
  • 31. Calendar event EXCLSUIVE magazine will first be publish in June 2016. This will be release to the general public, so they will be able to buy the magazine. The reason why the magazine will be release to the public in June 2016 is because they are able to make a big deal of the magazine first issue and therefore they are able design an concerts or a party for the magazine first issue. Inside the puff promotion for EXCLUSIVE, the target audience are able to enter into an competition to buy an apple product. This is important because this will encourage the target audience to go on the EXCLSUIVE’ s website and enter the competition. This will enable the music magazine to be closer to the target audience. The puff promotion will change every issue to suit the needs of the target audience. Next issue the puff promotion could be like free concerts tickets, new albums or vouchers from any shop. The holiday season such as Christmas will affect the design of the magazine such as the front cover will have a Christmas design of artists wearing Christmas hats or artists that made their big hit of a Christmas song such as Mariah Carey, Slade or The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl. The Christmas season will affect the distribution of the magazine as the staff will get two weeks off because they will be able to spend time with their friends and families. So the January issue of the magazine will be release to the public a week or two later as they will need to create the magazine before they can release it.

This will enable my to find out what I have done well in the pitch and it also go into detail about the improvement that I need to make to my presented in order for the publisher to support my music magazine. I have received feedback from three different forms such as the recorded interview of the pitched, the two witness statement and the online survey monkey, which was sent to everyone who have listen to the pitch. By looking at the answers for the Survey Monkey, I am able to analyses the results. So I am able to see what feedback I have gain from the target audience and also the publisher. In addition, the I have the legal and ethical slides in detail, so I would know the legal risk of having a music and the photograph that was taken of the artist/model. I have find out the importance of asking for permission for taking and using a photo. I also found that the punishment when these action are not followed.
