2. WHAT IS MULTIMEDIA
• Multimedia is media and content that uses a
combination of different content forms.
• This includes text, graphics, audio, video, etc.
• Multimedia is usually recorded and played,
displayed or accessed by information content
processing devices, such as computer and
electronic devices, but can also be part of a live
performance
3. TYPES OF MULTIMEDIA
• Linear :Linear active content progresses without
any navigational control for the viewer such as a
cinema presentation.
• Non-linear :Non-linear content offers user
interactivity to control progress as used with a
computer game or used in self-paced computer
based training. Hypermedia is an example of
non-linear content.
4. WHAT IS INTERACTIVE MULTIMEDIA
• An interactive multimedia technology is any
technology that accepts user input, presents
information conditionally and non-linearly in
response, and is capable of presenting
combinations of text, sounds, pictures,
animations, and/or full motion video.
• An essential feature of interactivity is that it is
mutual: user and machine each take a more or
less active role
7. BUMPTOP- INTRODUCTION
• It was created at the University of Toronto
• Bump Top is a desktop environment, designed
to enhance traditional computer desktop
functionality by more closely supporting the
normal behavior of a real-world desk.
• It is aimed at stylus interaction, making it more
suitable for tablet PC .
• The 1.0 version was released on April 8, 2009
• It is cross platform.
8. BUMPTOP- OVERVIEW
• Documents are described by three-dimensional
boxes lying on a virtual desk.
• Extensive use of physics effects like bumping
and tossing is applied to documents when they
interact, for a more realistic experience.
• Multiple selection is performed by means of a
Lasso Menu, which fluidly combines into a single
stroke .
14. CONCLUSION.
The fast evolution in the field of multimedia will
simplify the user work to a large level by providing
more interactive means to perform a task.
