2. Audience feedback Is the most important thing to
consider before attempting to create any media product .
Audience feedback will help you put together your
product it will allow you to listen and understand other
peoples point of views, if you do not have anyone else is
opinion on a product you are making your product may
not be so successful as it will only have one view which is
yours. You cannot be to biased.
Why is audience feedback
important ?
3. Negative feed back for trailer- What do you think of our plot?
1) All of our audience who were interview said that the killers motif wasn’t very reasonable , they
said that he cannot go around killing victims because his mother has left his family . However
during research on slasher/thriller movies we learned that killers in slasher films normally have a
psychological problem which leads them to being troubled in the mind , psychological problems
can come from home . Our killer in our film trailer was troubled as a young boy which made him
very different in the sense that he could not tolerate females. We chose to not go with the
audience feedback on this negative feed back due to the fact that in our trailer we knew how we
were going to emphasise the killers motif to make it clear. I personally think that the audience
didn’t understand the killers motif clear enough because they didn’t research the genre as deep
as me and my group did .
2) Another negative feedback we received was from our teacher and also our class mates , during
the editing process me and my group had made a lot of changes and extra filming we were told
that in our trailer there were too many long scenes which were giving away the next scene they
were to predicted and also that there was too much of killer stalking but not enough of the
females acting upon his actions . It didn’t really look like a stalker slasher film there was not
enough of a setting up for the story for example too much of the villan and lesson of the females
victims ( protagonist and antagonist).
3) We were told that our main character the killer was not wearing clothes that was suitable for his
character in the trailer, he looked too casual , even though this was honest opinions from a class
mate we could not really act upon it as it was too late and also as a group we thought that it was
good that the character looked like an everyday person because his character was meant to be
mysterious .
4. 4 people were interviewed
individually by me and my group
we created questions that would
be suitable for our trailer. Before
starting the filming we gave the 4
interviewees a brief summary of
our plot we made sure to include
the most relevant bits of
information.
Our pitch for
trailer.
5. Survey monkey
I was able to ask my audiences different question which were related to my
film trailer, the questions which I had asked my audience allowed me to gain
a better understanding of what they were looking for and expecting in my
slasher film trailer, some of these questions were also included in my pre
production audience feedback when I interviewed 4 people ,we interviewed
are audience visually.
6. Here is my genre mood board it
was one of the first
moodboards I created before
researching my genre in depth.
Personally I thought that
creating a mooboard would be
very leading for me as I would
gain ideas to present to my
group about what I have found
and researched to help us put
together ideas for our trailer.
7. Masthead Experiments
These are mastheads that my target audience looked at with me , most of the
mastheads were from the font website called DAFONT.com . Throughout my
production I only used some of these fonts for my drafts and practice magazines . I
subverted from some of the masthead ideas that my target audience picked out for
me to use for my film magazine and poster because as I was looking at real media text
magazines such as the “Scream Magazine” I realized that the masthead experiments
that I picked were very different to slasher film magazines , slasher film magazines
were big bold and simple , so during the process of creating my film magazine and
poster I did more research on mastheads. For my Poster I used a very big bright
masthead which I was sure would attract the readers.
After explaining to some of my classmates why I chose these two fonts for my
anicallary tasks they understood and accepted my choice on selecting the two fonts.

you cannot kill because of
the killers background the
reason s are stupid “?
“ Yes , the characters are
typical and expected
characters in this genre.
However I would say that
the genre of your film is
slasher and not horror “.
“ Yes you would expect
characters in this genre to
have a motif like the killers
as he conforms to his
character but I personally
feel that the killers
background to kill is stupid
and unnecessary”.
“No because it gives a sense
of religion and your film has
nothing to do with religion”
“Yes, because your trailer is
about family and revenge”.
9. what do you think of our
plot in relation to horror
and slasher genre ?
yes
yes
“Really good and unique you
thought of different elements to
include, other films of this genre
can be really predicted and
boring”.
“ overall the plot is okay however
it would be better if you change
the killers motif as it doesn’t
make so much sense to why he is
killing females from the business
industry only.”
