A description of new initiatives and services undertaken by West Lothian Library Service, including Blackburn Connected. Presented by Jeanette Castle at the CILIPS Centenary Conference Branch and Group Day which took place 5 Jun 2008.
2. Service Aims We aim to provide for the learning, information, leisure and cultural requirements and fair and equal access to council and government information for people who live, work or have and interest in West Lothian.
30. Be a little careful about your library. Do you foresee what you will do with it? Very little to be sure. But the real question is, What it will do with you? You will come here and get books that will open your eyes, and your ears, and your curiosity, and turn you inside out or outside in. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Colleagues, My purpose today is to update you on the progress of the service plan for library services 2004/2005, whilst at the same time, giving you just a flavour of what is happening in West Lothian Libraries today. I have prepared a pack which contains a copy of our service plan which will give you the detail, rather than the highlights in this presentation.
