1. New Media Technology DL 242 2010 Sean Stevens N00064654 Broadband Providers in Baldoyle and Surrounding Areas
2. What is Broadband? Broadband is an Internet connection that gives you high speed access and downloads for a monthly flat rate. This allows a faster download time for emails, music, films, websites etc. The big advantage other than speed is that it is constant from the second you turn your computer on.
3. Broadband in Ireland – Government Page Broadband Website provided by the Government was under construction and unavailable at the time of search The page has been like this for some time now Cached the page and the last update was on Jan 23rd 2010 which is almost two weeks
5. Chorus NTL UPC UPC Broadband (UPC) is the European division of Liberty Global, Inc., the world’s leading international cable operator. They provide three different Broadband packages in my area. Fibre Power Broadband 5MB Fibre Power Broadband 15MB Fibre Power Broadband 30MB
6. What do I personally get from Chorus NTL UPC Download: 30Mb Upload: 3Mb Suitable for: anyone who downloads large files, challenges other gamers around the world, and busy homes as their FREE wireless router lets more than one person go online at a time. Wireless Router: FREE Fibre Power Broadband 30Mb for €42 a month.

8. Eircom Provide up to 24 MB for €47.99 a month Download speed of up to 24Mb Download allowance of 75GB 12 month contract As Eircom are Ireland’s largest telecommunications supplier people who don’t shop around would generally go with a company name they know rather than a company they can trust.

11. Who is the best? Different households have different needs but generally I think Chorus NTL UPC is the most consistent and competitive along with a good back up service when it comes to having problems if any at all. We have faced problems in the past but have been rectified within a matter of days
12. Surrounding areas such as Howth have constant problems with their Broadband suppliers and overall network. One friend has had constant problems with Eircom and other providers but still cannot find a suitable consistent service which in this day and age is hard to believe.
13. Irelands Broadband Service Compared to other European Cities Broadband Standards in Ireland are extremely low. At the recent Lisbon Treaty Referendum in Dublin Castle the worlds media decended on Dublin Castle to report on the outcome. Major complaints on the lack of quality service and very poor broadband standards which in itself became a news story and a high on the agenda view point.
14. Broadband – are we happy? I don’t believe we have reached our best when it comes to the service in which we receive With more and more users I believe it will only get better and meet the high standards set from other European cities

Information gathered from the Government website on Broadband which is underconstruction
Personally in my own home they provide me with their Fibre Power Broadband 30MB which we have not had any problem with.
“Up to 24Mb download speed & up to 768kbps upload speed Why up to? Because you share the eircom network with other customers in your area. At certain times of the day there may be more people connected to the Internet (e.g. in the evenings) and this can slow down your broadband speed. We call this 'contention rate'.”This is from the Eircom Broadband website
Magnet Force Max is Magnet Entertainment’s top of the range home broadband service. Delivering up to 24Mb broadband, the fastest speed currently available in Ireland and what’s more unlike other service providers such as eircom, UPC and Vodafone you don’t share your line with anyone else!
Once again from people I know who signed up for this offer the service was bad and lack of professionalism in problem solving
