3. Shrove Tuesday
• Shrove Tuesday is also known as
Pancake day.
• Shrove comes from the old word shrive,
which means confess.
• Shrove Tuesday isn't part of lent but its
important because Christians confess on
this day to get their sins washed away
before lent.
• It is traditional to eat pancakes on this day.

• Lent begins on Ash Wednesday.
• On Ash Wednesday Christians go to
church and the priest makes the sign of
the cross on your forehead.
