LEAD Brevard's Leadership Brevard Class of 2018 Leadership Action Project Presentation. LEAD Brevard, Inc. with The Board Doctor, LLC “Leadership IMPACT: Matching Leadership Brevard Alumni with Nonprofit Organizations Needing Skilled Board Members” The concept is to develop a way to match nonprofit organizations in Brevard County (over 1,695 with 501 c 3 status) with Leadership Brevard Alumni and others who are ready and willing to serve on a board of directors. Project elements would include gathering information from nonprofits about their board needs, gathering information from alumni about their interests and skills, marking some initial matches, building a type of interactive web based ‘data base’ or means of ongoing match services and creating a plan for long term sustainability, which will include identifying a revenue stream for long term support.

develop a way to match potential leaders to nonprofit
organizations in Brevard County
• Members of the Lead Brevard Class of 2018 are
spearheading this project

• Develop a web-based program
• Phase 1 - match not-for-profit organizations that are
recruiting board members with Leadership Brevard
alumni
• Phase 2 – open up to other community members who
are willing and prepared to serve on local / regional
boards

• Building an interactive web-based tool

• Promote matching services to current Leadership Brevard class members,
alumni and nonprofit organizations through collateral materials
• Successful placement of members from Leadership Brevard to board
members in Brevard nonprofit organizations
• Development of database of potential board members and local not-for-
profit organizations
• Introductory marketing launched to promote matching service to our
community

10. Sustainability
• Estimated annual expense of $4,000 to maintain portal.
• Generate revenue $ by offering basic board governance
training 3 hours 4 times/year.
• Each session 2 hours of governance plus 1 hour
nonprofit management training by the financial sponsor -
finance, marketing, insurance, etc.
• 25 attendees at $40.00 pp each session.
• Candidates are required to go through training prior to
becoming board members.
