External processes 
seeking opportunities 
to deliver value to 
existing and potential 
customers, as well as 
identifying new 
capabilities that 
business must develop 
so that it can take 
advantage of the 
opportunities and 
overcome potential 
threats.
 There are two external forces that influence the 
internal forces of capability and business development
