The life of Eleanor
   Roosevelt
Early life
 Eleanor Roosevelt was born on October 11th in New York City.

 Eleanor’s mother did not like her very much. She thought
  Eleanor was plain looking but Eleanor’s father loved her.

 Eleanor’s parents were Anna and Elliot, her family was wealthy.

 Eleanor’s mother died when she was 8, her father died when she
  was 10.

 After her mother and father died she went to live with
  her grandmother.
Education

 When Eleanor was 15 she
 was sent to a boarding school
 in England called Allenswood.
 She was there from1899 till 1902.
Adult Life
 Eleanor married Franklin Roosevelt on March 17,
  1905.

 In 1932, Franklin was elected President of The United
  States of America, Eleanor became first lady.
Adult Life/Family
 Eleanor and Franklin had 6 children, 1 daughter and 5
  sons. One son died as an infant.

 The children’s names were Anna, James, Elliot , John
  and Franklin.
Accomplishments
 She joined the Junior League and helped the poor.

 She raised 5 children.

 She helped Franklin become President.

 She had her own radio program and newspaper
  column.
Impact on the world
 She had a life long devotion to the poor.

 She stood against racist ideas.

 She visited and helped wounded soldiers.

 She was the leader of the Commission on Human
  Rights.
Death
 She died on November 7, 1962 at the age of 78.

 She was hit by a car and after that her health
  continued to decline for two years until her death.
