THE SHAPE, THE COLOUR, THE 
DIMENSION, AND GENERAL 
FUNCTION OF THEODOLITE
THEODOLITE 
• A Theodolite is a precision instrument for 
measuring angles in the horizontal and vertical 
plane. 
• The functions are mainly to be used for 
surveying. 
• A Theodolite is made of plastic and steel. 
• A Theodolite is shaped like a RECTANGLE and has 
a CIRCULAR lense. 
• This tool is 4.6 kg in weight and 166 x 329 x 155 
mm in dimensions this tool is sensitive and easily 
damaged moreover they are expensive. 
• The color of this tool mostly is yellow
COMPONENTS OF THEODOLITE 
AND IT’S FUNCTION
COMPONENTS OF THEODOLITE 
1. Compass used to determine the 
direction of the north at the 
beginning of the measurement. 
Position The compass at the top 
theodolite and the compass 
made of plastic 
2. Targeting Sight is used to take 
aim hard object. Position 
Targeting sight at the top 
binoculars of theodolite and 
this parts made of plastic 
3. Objective Lens is used for 
shootering the object. Position 
This part in front of binoculars 
of theodolite.

4. Display Window is used to 
show vertical and 
horizontal corner perusal 
digitaly. 
5. Vertical angle locking 
screw used to lock the 
vertical movement 
apparatus. 
6. Smooth vertical screw 
drive used to drive tools 
subtly in the vertical 
direction 
7. Place battery

8. Vertical angle adjustment 
buttons are used to reset 
the vertical angle. 
9. Adjustment buttons 
angle 0° horizontal is 
used to reset the 
horizontal angle. 
10. Smooth horizontal screw 
driver used to drive a 
subtle tool to horizontal. 
11. Horizontal angle locking 
screw is used to lock the 
horizontal movement of 
equipment

12. Power switch ON / OFF is 
used to turn on or turn off the 
appliance. 
13. Nivo tube used to determine 
the erectness of tool. 
14. Nivo setter screw used to 
adjust device balance position. 
15. Sight adjusting screw is used 
to adjust the point of sight 
that shot right direction 
16. Point adjusting screw lens 
viewfinder is used to adjust 
the clarity of the lens.

CONNECTION BETWEEN PARTS 
• Tunners lens, setter screw, Vertical angle locking, Smooth 
vertical screw, and targeting sight is supported of 
theodolite to work the binoculars 
• Compass is joined of theodolite for determining the 
direction of the north 
• Nivo tube is supported of nivo steer screw for theodolite 
balance 
• Vertical angle adjustment buttons, Power switch ON / OFF 
and Adjustment buttons angle 0° s. horizontal is connected 
with display window 
• Smooth horizontal screw driver and Horizontal angle 
locking screw is supported horizontal motion theodolite 
• Sight adjusting screw is connected with Point adjusting 
screw lens for explanatory point when centering
