                     Common Admission Test (CAT)Pattern
The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an entrance test conducted by IIM for the management
program of its six IIMs  CAT is also adopted by the other top B‐schools of India like MDI, SP jain, TA
Pai..Etc.  CAT looks for candidates who have ability to conceptualize, assume, analyze, and take
decision out of alternatives. As the other aptitude exams it also tests the candidates aptitude
through a few topics listed below.

The above listed topics are categorized into three sections in the CAT test paper. The exam duration
is usually 2:00 hours, but it increased to 2:30 hours in 2006. The number of questions are surprise
from IIM, they are kept varying from year to year, they can be any number from 75‐150 questions.
The CAT is conducted every year on the third Sunday of November.

As it is to remember regarding the cut‐off mark of the CAT therefore you have to have a concern
about your aptitude skills. This aptitude skill is nothing but a talent of the student to pick up the
right question in their area of expertise and to find the correct option as soon as possible. It is not
compulsory to solve all questions of the CAT paper in a given time. REMEMBER CAT doesn't test for
the subject skills, It tests for the aptitude skills. The key element of the CAT is getting accuracy by
selection of appropriate questions in your area of expertise.
