2. Compensation data points for this study were collected between
January 1, 2017 and April 15, 2017.
Compensation data points are collected from conversations and
self-reported by professionals currently working in corporate
recruiting and talent acquisition functions. Please note that the
salaries provided are not verified through any other means. We
feel very confident that this data is accurate given the consistency
in responses we received across each professional levels and
SGA Talent, is pleased to present our 2017 Recruiting and
Talent Acquisition Compensation Study.

Realizing job titles, organizational structures and experience
levels may vary from company to company. Every effort has
been made to pay close attention to structure, roles and
responsibilities as we spoke with each individual to be sure
comparisons were accurately recorded. As we all know, some
company’s middle-management may be equivalent to another’s
senior management, some senior managers may not have the
responsibilities of others, and so on. Our goal was to be sure we
were comparing each level accurately.

3. During the course of the study, information gathered for
the recruiter role focused on recruiters with work
experience as opposed to an entry level recruiter.
Many of the conversations took place with junior
recruiters, experienced recruiters and life long
recruiting professionals.
Our study discovered the fact that there are often wide
ranges of average salaries for recruiters, based upon
industry, years of experience, industry knowledge and

industry, years of experience, industry knowledge and
the actual role of each individual.
Please note that recruiter roles may also vary from
company to company. Some recruiters just recruit, while
others source and recruit. Some recruiters are involved
in the recruiting process end-to-end, while others are
not. All of these factors weigh in on a professionals
salary.

A Junior Corporate Recruiter on average
earns a salary of $40,212 per year.

12. PUBLIC SOURCES –
RECRUITING DIRECTORS
According to PayScale, commissions comprise a big part of overall income
for Recruiting Directors. The median take-home amount in this area is around
$105K, and on average, over a third of that final number comes from
commissions. Final cash compensation to Recruiting Directors varies from
around $59K to approximately $163K; choice pay grades include potential
for bonuses and profit sharing as high as $40K and $64K, respectively.
As for a Talent Acquisition Director the average pay is $110,838 per year
According to Glassdoor the National Average of a Director of Recruiting is
$63,937 and the Director of Talent Acquisition is $125,000
