Project proposal title and date:
Me and them/ alone with them
Main area of activity:
Video Game, Graphic design (?)
Rationale:
From when i started college to now I haven’t learned that much more than I already knew however
one thing I have learnt that I enjoyed was how to create pixel animations on photoshop. i can use
this in the future for anymore animation projects, anything to do with concepts or even music
videos. This will also help massively with my FMP as I plan to create another game animation, by
already knowing how to create each frame and how to export and render it I will save a lot of time
and then will be able to experiment a little and possible further my knowledge even more. Another
thing i have learnt is how to upload and export different files to YouTube or a blog using
SharePoint. This is useful for when I put all my college work onto my blog after every project we
do.
Project Concept:
The concept for my project is an interactive horror game which I am going to make on photoshop
by using a frame-by-frame technique to make it look animated. I plan on either making a story
game or a roleplaying game because I really enjoy playing those myself at home so it would be fun
to create my own version with my own characters, plot and music etc. Since my plans and general
idea for my FMP are the same as the project we did before we started the FMP, so I already know
exactly what to research and how to plan and execute it. I could also use my previous research
again or just us it as a template. I will have to look at existing games and analyse them, specifically
at how it performs, how long it is, the music, the timings and basic things such as colouring, plot
points and character designs. Another thing that could be helpful is looking at how popular different
genres of games are and how each one has its own positives and negatives; this would help me
get an idea of what would make my game interesting and appealing to the audience and any other
viewers.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed?
After finishing my work, I plan to evaluate and fully check my work by comparing it to my previous
project and finding any differences/ similarities. I could also compare my game to anyone else who
has chosen the same project or even just ask for their opinion and what I’ve done well or done
bad. I think that getting multiple opinions from different people would benefit me the most because
it shows me exactly what I need to change or improve.
