2. reserach
today I started research, I looked into existing fanzines and
how they are laid out and what techniques are used. I then
looked at cosplay websites that talked about the topics I want
to use in my fanzine. I also looked into what colours and
fonts are best for catching peoples attentions.
3. planning
Today I finished off research and started planning. I began
choosing a colour scheme and a font to settle on so I could
finalize planning. I experimented with different layouts using
shapes, I used this to choose how many double page spreads I
wanted and where I wanted them. i then began looking back
at research to find techniques that I liked and figured out
where I could incorporate them.
4. pre production
Today I finalized my planning and started pre-production. I
started adding names to my personnel slide and started filing
out slides about locations, costumes/ props etc, since my
fanzine is digital, I wont need any of those. I then began
filling in any other production information needed and wrote
down a basic creative concept.
5. production
Once I started production, I first chose to do my front cover
since it was the easiest and would set the standard for the
rest of the pages. I then chose to do the interview pages as
they had the most text and would take the longest to
complete, once they were finished, I started adding in photos
and layered fonts around to make it look nicer. I then started
my double page spread which was a tips page and then also
recommended stores and websites for people to purchase
cosplays, wigs and contact lenses from.
