Final Chapter
I can’t say that my whole life changed overnight when I started
letting go of anger and hatred. It took me many years and a
long time of self hatred and drug addiction, but I grew, refusing
to be a victim, refusing to allow someone else’s actions dictate
how I lived my life. I grew in my maturity, my life, and my
ability to love and give love. I also can’t say that I still don’t
have emotional and psychological scars, because I do, there are
still certain things that can just break me down in an instant,
triggers that I haven’t found yet, and there were many times
of falling down, getting up, falling down, getting up. My heart
grew softer, I didn’t want to fight anymore. I learned through
all I had lived through that it was Love that mattered most. My
love for my family, My love for myself, and my love for others.
I sincerely believe that Love was a gift that was given to me, It
radically changed everything about me, my anger dissolved in
the face of love, My heart grew larger and abundantly softer in
the face of love, My hope and faith grew. Every single area of
my life was touched and radically changed by Love. The most
amazing thing is how that love just keeps growing, no matter
how much love I give out, It is like a river that constantly flows
through me spilling over and covering everything in its path,
With this abundance of love also comes the forgiving heart.
I now have a gratitude list that is never ending. I can look back
now and see those many times that I was locked in a closet
there was no fear, because I was never alone, I was constantly
surrounded by peace and love, It was this love that I gave to my
brother and sisters, as the only love I knew. It is the strongest
and purest Love I have ever known.
God shared his love with me when I felt unloveable, then God
taught me how to share his love with others. That was his gift
to me, and it is a gift that I freely give to all. Thank You for
allowing me to share my story with you, and please remember
this, It is not a story of abuse and neglect as some may think,
what it is is the story of an entire family who could Rise And
Overcome every obstacle with the power of Love. Our love for
each other, and for others. This is a Love story. Have hope and
reach out to Rise And Overcome! I know that you can.
