Twitter Name: @CI350, Harold Blanco
The first account that I followed is the CI 350 classroom twitter account. The
themes that this account focuses on are the instructional technologies and
computers for future teachers. I feel this account also focused on the latest breaking
national news, which was also handy. They also tended to follow the most active
hash tags. I really like all of the posts surrounded the Eric Garner video. I actually
saw that video around the time it happened, and was astounded at the zero
coverage it initially received. However, I am assuming it made the rounds to
national headlines because of the Ferguson shooting. Sometimes there were a spam
of the @mapmyride app, and I thought that was distracting, especially if you were
going back into the accounts older tweets. Overall, the account is cool and has some
relevant information to give out.
Twitter Name: @WiseinWV, Wise In WV
The second account that I followed is the Wise In WV initiative of WV FREE
that works to institutionalize sex education in West Virginia schools. They want to
reduce the rates of unintended pregnancies and STD’s across West Virginia.
However, they clearly cover a range of topics and do not seem entirely dedicated to
just West Virginia. This is an awesome thing, wanting to help everyone. Out of all
the tweets that I saw, I really appreciated the tweets that featured statistics. I am
heavily interested in facts and statistics because most of the time you can not argue
with those things. I personally felt that all the posts had merit, so I did not exactly
not like any of them. I feel strongly about this movement so I am not going to go
against my own principles.
Twitter Name: @web20classroom, Steven W. Anderson
The third account that I followed is from the video that you requested that
we watch and follow someone from. This account is Steven W. Anderson’s and he is
an educator, blogger, and considers himself an innovator in education. My favorite
part about Steven’s twitter is that he posts a lot of links to tools and ideas for
educators. Just little interesting things that could possibly inspire someone. He also
knows how to be a cool and current as well. He also retweets people that are
interesting as well and that are relevant to the theme of his account. Sometimes he
always seems to be in work mode, and his posts are almost robotic in a sense. Like,
his posts are just kind of always perfect a spot-on most of the time to his theme.
That kind of bothers me, because I like following people who are down to earth as
well.
2. Twitter Name: @stumpteacher, Josh Stumpenhorst
The fourth account that I followed is from the video that you requested that
we watch and follow someone from. This account is Josh Stumpenhorst’s and he is a
teacher and blogger. He seems to always want to strive to be a better person and
educator. The theme of his account is about education and technology. I consider
his best posts are when he asks his followers questions. I believe this to be a good
trait to have. This is obviously a person who believes in learning and becoming a
better person entirely. Which I think, everyone should probably attempt to do.
However, some of his tweets do not interest me entirely. There are some that focus
on conferences and events in education that I do not know about thus, I can not
exactly relate to them.
Twitter Name: @MaxScoville, Max Scoville
The fifth account that I followed is someone of my choosing that I had been
following before the class. The account belongs to Max Scoville and calls himself a
video warlock for Destuctoid.com and a raccoon specialist. He is a video editor and
announcer on Destructoid’s YouTube channel. He also is on the podcast The Comedy
Button and was on the Game Spy Debriefings podcast when it was still around on
IGN. His account is just a personal tweets and holds interest for his videos on
Destructoid and The Comedy Button. He is also an artist so he posts his art every
once in awhile. He is a cool dude, so that’s why I follow him, and I like raccoons and
video games. I like everything he tweets so I have nothing particularly negative to
say in reference to his tweets.
