My slide deck from a seminar for the University of Toronto Scarborough's Mentors in Co-op initiative on November 23, 2009. Time slot was 45 minutes of presentation, followed by open networking. Topic was traditional and social networking in business and life, presented to a young audience of business students getting starting their career paths. Reviewed the basics about networking (what, why, when, and where), preparing your personal brand, making the approach, importance of follow-up, and key social networking tools. In summary: establish context, find commonality, and seek a mutually-beneficial connection with someone. Finished with 5 personal stories about networking. Contact me @skanwar or http://sati.sh if you want to hear them too.
