One of the major social problems in the world and especially in India is beggary. It is a state or

prevent this problem is improving medical establishment. The medical institution ought to be

Brassica Rapa
The Wisconsin Fast Plant, otherwise known as the Brassica Rapa, is a petite plant and researching tool
bred by Dr. Paul Williams and used to improve disease resistance of the cruciferous plants. Dr.
Williams was able to breed the Fast Plant with other related species of the Cruciferae family, in order
to achieve shorter life cycles. Fast Plant life cycles have been reduced from the average six month
cycle to a five week cycle (History of Wisconsin Fast Plants). These plants have been known to show
exponential growth results within the first two weeks. Fast Plants are also known to share familial ties
with other groups of plants such as mustard, cabbage, etc. Dr. Williams was able to achieve breeding a
short life cycle plant through selective breeding and cross pollination (Sprouting Up All Over). After
about twenty years of mixing and matching the Fast Plant with other plants of the Brassica group, Dr.
Williams was able to achieve the modern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

potting mix, light, number of seeds, as well as container size. After researching the life cycles of
Wisconsin Fast Plants, a final hypothesis was made that based on its known genetics, the quad with

that the benefits of fertilizer added to the already rapid growth of the Fast Plant, would further speed

How To Write A Photo Analysis Essay
The weak fall, but the strong will remain and never go under, stated by Anne Frank. I settle on this
quote because it is significant to the photo that I have chosen. The photo that I found was searched on
Google. When I initially found the photo on Google, it was an image that was originally from
Pinterest. As I looked more into the photo it was also shown on many other websites of displayed
images but had no information about it. A majority of people ponder about photographs when
examined and have their own perspectives about them. In the photo that I have chosen, it could imply
to the readers that it suggests the simple act of kindness given to individuals who need happiness.
The photo depicts a young girl and a young boy standing on a wooden dock near the ocean as the sun
is beginning to set along the side of them. There are a group of geese flying above the ocean water in

This photo looks as if the young girl is offering the young boy help by giving him a balloon and the
benefit from the help given is receiving happiness. Although, the photo illustrates more than just the
simple fact of giving and receiving. The photo shows the opportunity to help the ones in desperate
need. This photo works as a powerful representation of individuals in need. The young girl has all the
opportunities in life to do what she wants and still gives her time to help the young boy. That is shown
by the illustration of the young girl offering the young boy a balloon. Everyone needs a helping hand
at a certain time in their life. Most importantly not everyone knows what people go through but the
best option is to offer support whether or not they will accept it. In addition, the worse act that can be
given is to ignore someone, and that certain someone can only learn from the action of rejection. This
thought is invoked because in the photo it is shown that the young boy does not accept the balloon that
is given to him by the young

Henry David Thoreau s The Battle Of The Ants
I am constantly reminded of the verses of David; who observed the natural world around him and
found its creator, God. In Psalm 8, the psalmist wrote:
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory in the heavens.
Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to
silence the foe and the avenger.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in
place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their ... Show more

Major Depression Therapy
Treatment for major depression usually is a combination of many treatments, such as medication,
psychotherapy, and ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy). There are also natural ways to fight depression.
Some examples are aerobic exercise, meditation, yoga and some herbal remedies like St. John s Wort
and fish oil. Also in cases of severe symptoms hospitalization may be necessary to help stabilize the
person. Psychotherapy falls into five overall categories. These are, Psychoanalysis and
psychodynamic therapy, Behavior therapy, Cognitive therapy, Humanistic therapy, and Integrative or

Body Art As Self Representation
Orlan: Body as Identity ARTH 102 Yuanyuan Chen Instructor: Dr. Geoffrey Carr April 5th,2016 Body
art as self representation has become more pervasive in popular culture within the past 50 years in
western cultures. From the body as the model of Greek artistry to 20th and 21st century punk rock
safety pins as facial art and permanent tattooing, the body is a canvas upon which artists purvey their
message, whatever it may be. As such, Orlan is a fearless artist on the world stage, displaying her
body as a shifting, ever changing human identity, and body art as self representation and self
expression. At its core, cosmetic surgery, medical technology, physical and biochemical status of
ethical issues are prevalent in modern society. Change of appearance in human development appears
in one artistic expressional event after another, such as: Austronesian tattoo, tattooed, Western grant
wash and circumcision, long necked tribe neck plus a circle of copper rings, the wrapping of Chinese
Ming and Qing Dynasty feet for small size, the obsessional fitness of modern society with fasting and
its obsession with a set standard of female physical beauty ....... Its main purpose is nothing more than
to improve the soul level, to define race, and cater to the beauty zeitgeist of the times. An external

video at least once in their life. Most of us watch videos on youtube weekly if not daily. It is playing
an important role in defining todays pop culture. This famous website was created by three friends:
Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. At first, they came up with an idea of creating a website
called HotOrNot, where people get to upload their videos and the viewers would then decide whether
they were hot or not. But this idea was too specific. So, in february 2005 they came up with a website

Steve Conine and Niraj Shah came up with the idea to start a business while they were in their last
semester of college in an entrepreneurial class. Therefore, in May 2002 they started Wayfair as an e

websites to distribute the merchandise, but in 2011 they decided to collaborate all of their websites
into one location which is Wayfair.com. Wayfair currently offers 7 million products from over 7,000

Strategy Development
Objective
In the survey that we did, we found out that most of the people think Mini Cooper as a car of fun. The
problem is that generally Mini is associated with young people. We want to change that point of view.
It is a kind of stereotyping when someone says Mini is a young people s car and it is for fun. That s
why our goal to be accomplished with this program is to attract new customers regardless of their age
range. We can do this by increasing awareness and reposition the Mini brand. We want to increase
awareness because we want our potential new customers to be aware of what the company and
product stands for. Once we accomplish to attract their awareness and reposition the brand, we want
them to have the perception, which we tried to accomplish, of what our brand is. Our communication
objective is therefore perception. We want Mini to be perceived as a car that can be driven by anyone
from any age range and not a car for only young people to use.
Target Audience
In this section, we will analyze the target audience of Mini Cooper and will try to picture
characteristics of its target market.
Financial crises have hit the world economics quite negatively and passenger s car segment has been
influenced to a great extent. Sales have dropped for more than double and needs of customers have
been directed towards motorcycle markets. Yet, as mentioned in the Annual Report of the company in
2010, they

Kathleen Waymon Research Paper
On February 21, 1933, Mary Kate Waymon and John Divine Waymon begot a child named Eunice
Kathleen Waymon in Tryon, North Carolina. She learned to play piano at the age of 3 and sang in her
church s choir. Growing up, she wanted to be the first African American concert pianist. Eunice taught
piano and worked as an accompanist for other performers when she attended Juilliard; however, she
had to leave school after she ran out of funds. She moved to Philadelphia and lived with her family
there in order to save money and go to a more affordable music program.
She was rejected from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and later claimed the school
denied her admittance because she was African American. Not long after, Eunice decided to turn away
from classical music and leaned more towards jazz and blues. In the 1950 s, she played in Atlantic
City clubs. She started singing with her music because the bar owner insisted she do so. She had to
think of a stage name to keep her mother from finding out, so she took the stage name Nina Simone.

Explain The Key Events That Played In The Civil Rights...
African Americans civil rights movement was out to achieve the end of racial segregation,
discrimination against niggas and to assure legal recognition and federal protection of the citizenship
rights. Indigenous Australians were out to achieve the same goals, the right to be able to live freely as
white Australians do.
It took numerous of individuals and big events to achieve their goals. Two events that played an
important role was Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955 1956) and the Tent Embassy
(1972). These big events sparked a crucial chapter during the Civil Rights Movement in the United
States and Australia. The aborigines who took part in the Tent Embassy event wanted all Indigenous
people to be accepted as their own self and to be counted as a part of the population in Australia. Rosa
Parks incident and the Montgomery Bus Boycott on the other hand wanted to achieve the same but
smaller goal, to let black people sit wherever they want to on the buses. African Americans and
Indigenous Australians never wanted to be judged on their skin colour, beliefs or actions, they wanted
to be accepted by the whites without having to change or to be changed .

collected kin relations, and mapped the community. He also participated in the night guard (jaga) to

2. Raybeck incorporated life histories and case studies as well as the semantic differential, a

personal desires of proximity to transportation and the state capital. Village entry was first gained after
Raybeck rented a newly built house. He arranged to take the place of the homeowner on the night
guard, making a statement that he was willing to be a member of the community by assuming some

Mallard s Irony
In Kate Chopin s short story The Story of an Hour, the main character, Mrs. Mallard is diagnosed with
a heart condition. She is married to a traveling man, although news comes in unexpectedly that her
husband has perished in a train accident. Only having known this terrible information from two
telegrams, her sister relays the news gently. Oddly, the newly announced widow silently rejoices at the
news of her husband s death. And Although they thought the news would negatively affect her health,
the irony comes in that she finds freedom and liberation in his death (Tolentino 13). Throughout the

Mallard is on a journey to a new life. The narrator expresses Mrs. Mallard s thoughts by saying Spring
days, and summer days, and all sorts of days that would be her own, revealing that Mrs. Mallard sees
springtime as a promise for a new beginning, an opportunity to revive herself. The reality that her life
would belong to her absolutely and she will have no one to live for , interprets that she is now able to
start a new life. The author then paints a setting of bright springtime images to show that Mrs. Mallard
felt revived by saying She could see now the open square before her house the tops of trees that were
all aquiver with the new spring life. The delicious breath of rain was in the air (Chopin 1). Trees that
are not nourished, in this case by rain, will eventually die. Interpreting that a rain storm had transpired
by reading the words breath of rain was in the air, trees were then nourished and were able to grow
deeper and stronger. The rain nourishing the tree is symbolic because this is what is happening to Mrs.
Mallard. She is being nourished back to life because of the opportunity of restoration, just like a rain
storm nourishing trees after a cold

Sociological Theories On Crime
Sociological theories on crime, whether they are macro or micro, look at external factors in
determining causative reasons for criminal conduct (Bohm Vogel, 2011). This process is very different
from biological and psychological crime theories, which focus on internal characteristics of a person
(Bohm Vogel, 2011). Macrosociological theory accounts for the overall big picture of a society taking
into account the physical structure of an area and how it is laid out. This information is used to
theorize if they have an influence on criminal activity for that particular location or neighborhood
(Bohm Vogel, 2011). Microsociological theories focus in on a more concentrated view of individual s
external interactions with each other or specific programs such as church or school (Bohm Vogel,
2011). These theories try to explain if these interactions foster a criminal environment or cause the
opposite (Bohm Vogel, 2011).
Macrosociological theory accounts for a large area of societal processes (Boundless, n.d.). Macro
theory has been practiced since the original studies of Emile Durkheim (Boundless, n.d.). It has also
been the most popular choice in sociology crime studies (Boundless, n.d.). Part of the reason for this is
because historical evidence shows that early studies of Macro theories, which investigate the entire
society makeup, focused on the following three topics. First, sociologists would determine what kept
the bonds of a society united (Boundless,

Phantom of the Opera Review
Phantom of the Opera is the longest running musical to date and has become one of the most beloved
and well known musicals on Broadway. The musical was inspired and loosely based on the characters
and the story of the book Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. This CD is the original London
cast which means that this recording is with the first cast that ever preformed the musical with the
actors that created the parts. The musical was written and composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber who is
one of the most famous musical composers and has composed some of the most well loved musicals
of the last fifty years. Webber created incredible and emotional music for Phantom of the Opera that
set this musical apart from all the others. One thing that makes Phantom of the Opera a unique musical
experience is because it does not try to fit into one genre and does not try to be too modern. This
makes it unique because most of today s musicals are trying to be more pop culture. The Phantom of
the Opera manages to stay in the time period where the story takes place but weaves in modern
comedy and rock music. The most obvious way that this is done is with the main theme of the
musical. The pounding of the organ is one of the most well known themes in musical theatre and it is
reminiscent of rock music with the guitar but it is different than rock because it is an organ not a
guitar. There are many other contrasts between old and new in the musical. One contrast is of musical
and opera. The

A PAnalysis
The setting in A P, which occurs in 1961, describes the antagonist as a traditional town with
inhabitants who conveys conservative thoughts. This is the post war period when the market is
prospering at the time. New ideas, such as dressing freely transpire s as the economy grows. A P is
located in a small town northern Boston, far away from the big cities. Thus, people living there are not
ready for the changes in the way people dress openly and in mindsets. People s values in Sammy s
community are conformed. As Sammy has point out: we re right in the middle of town, and the
women generally put on a shirt or shorts or something before they get out of the car into the street.

At the beginning of the story, Sammy notices three girls in a bathing suit walking into the store, which
really catches his eyes. Bathing suits are defined as improper dressing in public places except for the
beach in his town. In his perspective, he does not consider that it is an inappropriate dressing in a local
store. On the contrary, he thinks the girls are attracted to him, so he keeps on observing them.
However, that s not the only reason Sammy is interested in them. He thinks these girls are different
because what they were wearing undoubtedly go against the norm of the society in their time. Sammy

Conventional Drug Delivery Systems ( Ddss )
Abstract:
With the emergence of more novel and effective drug therapies, increased importance is being placed
upon the methods by which these drugs are being delivered to the body. Different methodologies have
been heavily investigated as possible solutions , one of these methods are intelligent or Smart
polymeric drug delivery systems . Stimuli responsive and self regulating drug delivery systems have
captured the imagination of researchers, in large part because they suggest a means to mimic the
physiological homeostatic feedback mechanisms that are essential for health. As dysregulation of
homeostasis is a feature of many diseases such as diabetes and cancer.
1. Introduction:
Conventional drug delivery systems (DDSs) are often accompanied by systemic side effects that
mainly are attributed to their nonspecific bio distribution and uncontrollable drug release
characteristics. To overcome these limitations, advanced controlled DDSs have been developed to
achieve the release of payloads at the target sites in a spatial controlled manner.
Commercially available controlled release devices offer several advantages, e.g. they maintain the
drug within the desired therapeutic range with just a single dose, they allow localized drug delivery
which ultimately may reduce the need for follow up care, they preserve drugs that are rapidly
destroyed by the body and ultimately improve patient compliance.
With the breakthrough of the biotechnology field in medicine, many advantages of

A Career Plan To Become A Professional Engineer
One of my primary short term career is to get a job in the field of civil engineering within 3 months of
graduating. My goal would be for this job to located in the Midwest, more specifically in the tri state
area of South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. I am open to a job in any sub discipline, but preferably in
the areas of structural, geotechnical, or transportation. To achieve this goal, I need to be proactive in
my job searching approach and to continue to do well in my class work and continue my involvement
with ASCE. My biggest criterion for my job would be that I would work underneath a Professional
Engineer doing engineering work that would allow me to sit for the Principles and Practice of
Engineering (PE) exam, as becoming a Professional Engineer is also a short term of mine. My goal
would be to become a Professional Engineer within five years of graduating. An important first step in
my goal of becoming a PE is to pass the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
I believe that I will have the skill set to accomplish my short term goals once graduating. I believe that
not only my strong knowledge of fundamental principles of civil engineering, but also my ability to
learn quickly, will be adequate in achieving my goals. There are still skills that I feel I am weak in,
and if improved, would increase the likelihood of reach my goals. Skills I am still weak at are being

The Importance Of Second Language Acquisition
Abstract
An interesting phenomenon in the research of second language acquisition is that learners seem to
acquire English grammatical morphemes in a certain order, regardless of their native languages, ages,
and learning environments. Furthermore, technique of instruction and data collection seem to have
little effect on the acquisition order. This study attempts to investigate the morpheme acquisition order
in the writing of Arabic students learning English at king Faisal University, KSA. Data collected from
twenty placements tests is examined for fourteen grammatical morphemes and the participants from
Saudi Arabian male students at king Faisal University. The acquisition order obtained is compared to
orders, found in previous studies. The study does not find a significant correlation between second
language acquisition order and first language acquisition order, but high correlations between this
study s sequence and those in five other second language acquisition studies give further strength to
the idea of a universal ESL morpheme acquisition order.
Introduction
In the late fifties the predominant view of language learning was Skinner s (1957) behaviorist theory
which claimed that learning proceeds according to a series of stimulus/response associations and
reinforcement. This view has changed since Chrosky s proposal (1957 1965) that the task, of learning
a language is not learning a vast number of sentences, as Skinner believed, but rather learning a
system of rules

The Legacy Of Johnny Cash
From an early stage in life, Johnny Cash understood that his role in life was to sing. His gift from God
was to not only a calling to be a musician, but his upbringing taught him to be a voice for the
oppressed as well. He forged these beliefs into his work, carrying the Man in Black persona into his
prolific career. As a recording artist and a performer, Cash used his platform to speak on issues such as
his Christianity, the lives of prisoners, the horrors facing minority groups, and the Vietnam war. As
these themes persist in American society, every generation has rediscovered Cash in some way,
becoming attracted to the honest man in black. Johnny Cash love affair with music arrived at an early
age. While working on a New Deal era cotton farm in Dyess, Arkansas, Cash learned gospel hymns
from his mother. He became, crazy for the radio and that for him it was, vital and indispensable. He
remembers the first song he heard on the mail order Sears Roebuck radio his father bought. Jimmy
Roger s Hobo Bill s Last Ride, played as he imagined a man freezing to death in a boxcar, alone. Cash
listened to everything on that radio; Roy Acuff, Ernest Tubb, Eddy Arnold, the Carter Family, Hank
Williams, Bing Crosby, the Andrew Sisters, the Chuck Wagon Gang, Pink Anderson, and Sister
Rosetta Tharpe. Everyday in the fields he would sing the gospel hymns with his mother and the
country and pop hits from the radio with his sister. Before long he began to develop his own voice. His

the monastery.
The monastery grew in size over the years, with the precinct covering around 70 acres of land. The

Descriptive Essay On Elkton
Elkton, Kentucky is a tiny, rural town that juts off of Highway 68. The heart of the town is the former
courthouse. Its steeple shoots proudly into the sky, displaying a clock of dubious accuracy. Old, brick
storefronts form a square around the courthouse, broken only by four streets extending from the
square. When I was young, riding in the backseat, I knew every detail of those streets. There was a
movie rental store, with posters I always strained to read; a tiny library whose young adult section I
had thoroughly explored; and a thrift store where I bought fifty cent stuffed animals. Elkton was
small, but I never thought I would need anything more. In my young mind, it was the only town that
existed. Elkton was my world. I turned thirteen the week my family moved out. With typical youthful
energy, I was ecstatic. I never looked back to the little white house; I only looked forward to the beige
colored apartment that, I bragged, was only five minutes from the mall. ... Show more content on

The Strange Death Of Silas Deane Summary
Studying history can be an active, often arduous process, dependent on making assumptions with the
evidence available and proving those assumptions to be correct or otherwise. But it can also be an
easy task if done incorrectly, one of cutting corners and assuming falsehoods to be true for the sake of
convenience. This is the way that many historians, amateur or professional, approach history. Not only
does this approach exclude any possibility for well constructed conclusions to be made, it can also
leave the populace ignorant of the truth. In The Strange Death of Silas Deane , James West Davidson
and Mark Hamilton Lytle argue that history is not merely the act of collecting data rather of making
assumptions about the data through the use of countless rhetorical questions, paragraph organization,
and a sardonic tone.
The Strange Death of Silas Deane retraces the story of Silas Deane, an early American politician, and
the events that led up to his death. The authors begin by revealing the conclusion that most historians
have made about the case: Deane committed suicide. Then, they steadily disprove that conclusion with
a myriad of facts and interpretations. The essay provides a thorough recount of Deane s life and argues
that Silas didn t commit suicide rather, he was murdered. To give weight to this hypothesis, the
authors draw from reserves of knowledge about Deane and his closest friend, Edward Bancroft. After
investigating Bancroft s life and his relationship with

The Personal Effects Of Plastic Surgery
The Personal Effects of Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery dates back to somewhere around 2000 B.C. and has only advanced since that time.
Today people all over the world get these procedures done for many reasons. Some reasoning behind
individuals getting plastic surgery is to fix a birth defect, deformability, or for cosmetic purposes. In
today s society, getting plastic surgery for cosmetics purposes is very popular but with that comes
many negative comments or thoughts towards that person getting these surgeries. Cosmetic surgery
impact not just the person receiving it but everyone that sees those new features or changes. In the
world we now live in I think body image is a big factor in many people s lives. A lot of people do not
always feel comfortable in their own skin because of the different models and actresses or actors seen
on television. I think when we see those different people on television or on the internet, we think that
s how we should be able to look, this can make people have negative thoughts about their own body.
In all reality, most of those people we see on television, magazines and social networks; almost all of
those people have had some sort of plastic surgery to change their appearance. While these people
change themselves they can send thousands of dollars on just one procedure. When someone has had
over ten procedure done to themselves that dollar amount really starts to add up and that s just of the
negative effects of getting plastic surgery.

Characteristics Of The Leopard
The Leopard
Long ago, the leopard and the Ethiopian, his white hunting companion, lived in a place called the
High Veldt. The two dominated this vast grassland, and they were able to hunt and catch any animal
they wished. Their favorite meals consisted of the plain sandy yellow brown coated giraffe and zebra.
One sunny day, the giraffe and zebra were hiding from the leopard and Ethiopian within the shadows
of the trees. Mysteriously, jagged shadow shapes appeared on the fur of the giraffe and the zebra. The
prey became permanently striped and spotted and were so well camouflaged that the leopard and
Ethiopian were now incapable of finding lunch. The two hunters knew they needed to up their game,
so the Ethiopian turned his skin black. The leopard asked his companion to give him spots so he could
blend in, too. The Ethiopian pressed his five fingertips all over the leopard s plain coat; both of them
were now camouflaged just like the giraffe and zebra.
This retelling of Rudyard Kipling s How the Leopard Got His Spots is a fanciful fable which portrays
the cunning nature of the leopard. Besides its stealthiness and competitiveness, this spotted wonder
possesses several other traits which display God s originality in creating it. In order to understand the
significance of the leopard, one must understand its physical characteristics and behavior, unique
habitat and hunting strategies, and extreme threats to its existence.

A Common Problem Today For Adolescent Christians
A common problem today for adolescent Christians is the lack of intimacy with God, and not fully
experiencing Christ in their lives. The solution to this problem can be found in the spiritual
disciplines. Spiritual disciplines are practices that aid in transforming believers into the image of
Christ, and help them to develop a more intimate relationship with Christ. They help to bring a
Christian into the presence of God, and to bring them a portion of heaven. According to Isaac
Ambrose, an English Puritan minister from the seventeenth century, spiritual disciplines are the
vehicles to God. He said: ...the saints look upon duties (the Word, Sacraments, Prayers, etc.) as bridges
to give them a passage to God, as boats to carry them into the bosom of Christ, as means to bring them
into more intimate communion with their heavenly Father, and therefore are they so much taken with
them (Schwanda 1). Ambrose argued that through spiritual disciplines, one could experience an
intimate relationship with God. The spiritual disciplines are broken into three categories, inward,
outward, and corporate. From these three categories, the three main focuses are meditation, service,
and worship. Through the application of these three spiritual disciplines, the main goal is to enter a
deeper, more intimate relation with Christ and to be shaped into the image of Christ. The first spiritual
discipline is meditation. According to WordNet, meditation is the continuous and profound

Globalization and Immigration
Introduction
Nowadays migration is getting to be one of the dominant characteristics of the modern world since at
the present moment that movement of people and migration of citizens from one country to another
become a norm. Not surprisingly that such unparallel and extremely high level of migration results in
substantial demographic, ethnical and socio cultural changes in many countries of the world.
In this respect, it is worthy of mention that such a situation with the migration is the result of the
recent trend in the world economy which is characterized by processes which are generally called
globalization. The process of globalization is overwhelming and involves practically all countries of
the world with rare exceptions which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Naturally, it resulted in an extreme specialization of countries that makes their economies one sided,
and consequently more exposed to economic and social crisis.
However, globalization developed international contacts and made it possible to cooperate on the
global scale. As a result, nowadays, basically due to the high level of development of IT and Internet,
specialists physically living in different countries of the world may work on one and the same product.
So, it may be said that globalization eliminated geographical boundaries between countries (Gomory
2002:187).
As for its effects, they are quite contradictive. The contrast is particularly obvious between well
developed countries and developing ones. In short, its effect may be expressed in one phrase, richer
countries become richer, and poor countries become poorer. Though it sounds a bit radical and more
precisely, it should be said that globalization makes developing countries more dependant on well
developed and it also makes practically all the countries of the world more submitted to global crisis
since their economies are closely interlinked than a crisis in one country would lead to the same effect
on economies of other countries that are its economic partners. In this respect, migration seems to be

The Death Of Mary Brown
Statement of Facts On January 1, 2011, Mary Brown (victim) went jogging at 7:00 pm on the route
she had been taking for six months and passing the usual houses. Upon reaching 123 Roper Street, a
man, John Smith (defendant) ran out, tackled her to the ground, jumped on top of her, and eventually
pinned her down. Then the defendant, using a box cutter, stabbed the victim in the face, making a five
inch gash just below her left eye. While cutting the victim, the defendant stated, I watch you run by
here every day and I wave hello to you from my window, but you never wave back. You think you are
too pretty to wave at me, well now you will not be pretty anymore. The defendant s neighbor, Mike
Jones, witnessed the attack and heard everything from his yard, but was too afraid to stop the attack.
John Smith has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding. Mary Brown is a 30 year old
mother of two small children that has resided in the neighborhood for six years. She had never met the
defendant until the attack. In the four years since the attack, the victim has endured facial numbness,
partial paralysis, and plastic surgery. Every day Mary is reminded of the terrible encounter with John
Smith by the permanent five inch scar, he placed on her face. Trial has been continued several times
and the medical expert will not be available to testify. Therefore, the trial will continue on August 1,
2015, without that testimony.

Cato s Analysis
In addition to training and self control, Rome was suggested to value discipline in education. Children,
specifically boys, were expected to be well schooled and regiments, physically and mentally. Cato was
spoken to have been his son s reading teacher, tutor, and athletic trainer, forcing his son to fight and
brave the extremes of nature (Plutarch 411). As Rome s military vigor was seen as important to the
strength of the empire, Plutarch hints that it was crucial for children to be disciplined into great
fighters. Cato s attention to his son s education had appeared to be successful in Plutarch s eyes, as
Cato s son grew into a formidable soldier despite his frail body (412). Education was fundamental to
Romans in order to practice discipline

The Chicago Blackhawks, Washington Redskins, Cleveland
The Chicago Blackhawks, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Chiefs, and Atlanta
Braves are all professional sport teams in America that use Native American culture to represent them
through the means of tribe names, logos, and mascots. These teams have received a lot of media
attention around the debate on if the representation of Native Americans is offensive or not.
Controversy surrounding Native American mascots first came into the public eye during the 1960s
Native American Civil Rights movement, where the use of these mascots was criticized for being
insulting. However, the people who conceived these teams did not acknowledge the prejudice and
discrimination they were creating and grew the brands into multi million ... Show more content on

It s adding insult to injury. (ESPN) It is not an honor to be on the front of a jersey or the name of a big
league team it s a constant reminder of what one has gone through and how they will continue to be
under valued in society. The names used by professional sports teams are offensive and perpetuate a
blatant categorization of Native Americans that further Marginalizes them. Professional teams are the
highest level of sport and therefore set an example for the rest of the industry and Americans
themselves. By holding offensive names these teams are enabling a culture of racism in America that
people learn to idolize and thus overlook. Numerous Native American organizations including the
National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), United South and Eastern Tribes Inc. (USET), and
over 40 individual tribal governments across the country have spoken out about these professional
teams and the disrespect they generate. (Ending the Era) Redskins is a term defined in the dictionary
as a racial slur. It refers to the bloody scalps of Native Americans who were hunted and killed, then
sold for bounties. The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently canceled several of the Washington
NFL team s trademark registrations because they were found disparaging to Native communities.

them all as fighters, it is a similar

Poverty And Deprivation In Australia
(ii) Income Poverty and Deprivation
The article titled Who is missing out? Hardship among low income Australians (Healey, 2007, p. 8)
summarises outcomes and key findings from the very first report by the Australian Council of Social
Services, released in 2007 (Australian Council of Social Service, 2014, p. 8). The report reviewed
both the accuracy of social security payments and the government s tax transfer system (Healey, 2007,
p. 8) with considerations of the government at the time, reviewing the entire Australian social security
system. The independent report extracted direct experiences of people affected by poverty and

The Pros And Cons Of Carry A Concealed Weapon
How would it feel if there were more law abiding people that carry a concealed weapon, this would
help deter crime and help the country become safer and more crime free. The people who are scared of
guns don t need to be, the firearm laws restrict certain guns and ammo from being used and sold to
civilians.
To begin, the concealed carry laws don t do much to protect citizens because gun control doesn t deter
crime gun ownership will. It is also our second amendment right to arm our self and the right to
defend. There for more citizens who carry a concealed weapon, the less crime will be committed. The
criminals will be at risk from others, and at a higher chance of them being shoot as soon as they would
draw a weapon and possibly hurt someone.

Lego Case Study Essay
Lego case study
1. How did the information systems and the organization design changes implemented by Knudstorp
align with the changes in business strategy?
Ever since LEGO started experiencing double digit annual sales growth, (by launching new toy
games, branded theme parks, entering the video game sector, introducing mobile applications,
introducing toys for girls, etc.) they realized they needed a model that was standardized, modular and
scalable. Hence, allowing them to expand to new markets in a less amount of time. They already had a
decently established market in USA and UK; they were looking for an expansion in other countries as
well. This model had to tackle major issues like scalability challenges, employee ... Show more

2. Which of the generic strategies does LEGO appear to be using based on this case? Provide support
for your choice.
The generic strategies used by LEGO (according to me) were:
Growth strategy
Product differentiation strategy
Corporate strategy
Growth strategy: With the help of growth strategy, LEGO introduced new toys in the market. Initially
LEGO was something that boys liked playing with but Knudstorp introduced LEGO for girls thus
targeting girl child audience which increased his market. Not only this, they also entered the video
game sector by making virtual games after collaborating with Sony (which was ruling the gaming
console market at that point of time). Later, they started making figures with famous characters from
Hollywood movies (Star wars, Batman, The Avengers, etc.).
Product differentiation strategy: Lego was facing stiff competition from its Canadian rival Mega
Blocks. They used the product

Film Analysis Of The Film MoBetter Blues
Mo Better Blues is a 1990 music drama film. Mo Better Blues follows a jazz musician named Bleek
Gilliam (Denzel Washington) who is obsessed with his art, but because he begins a path that separates
him from the person closest to him. Another band member encountered a problem in another quintet
named Shadow Henderson (Wesley Snipes), which led to everyone in the band. Their manager Giant
(Spike Lee) is Bleek s best friend because he is a child, but as a manager, he is absolutely horrible,
deep gambling debt. In addition, Blake (Bleek) balance the two women indigo (Joie Lee) between the
love of life, another name is Clark (Cynda Williams) is a lady of the upcoming singer The His film has

In the end, Spike Lee is still as obsessed with his own style as he used to be, and is getting better and
better. Worse, because of the limited number of stories in Mo better Blues, Spike Lee stretched it in
two hours, but his real passion for fashion films was to make things interesting. The themes that are
touched in the script are the characters and their relationship setting actors to maximize their potential
is interesting. But at the same time, li peng s devotion to mo blues is sincere. You can express it
clearly through simple movies. ...
Mo Better Blues signature style is attractive. In the daytime scene, the film took all the deep tan,
emphasizing the nature of the city. When the night falls, the film shoots all the effective contrasting
shadows and charming lighting to capture the real jazz mood. The film s soul is captured through its
atmosphere, the film is the key to this. The real technique in film photography is also good because
the way the camera uses the focus is very atmospheric, slowly using slow motion, scaling and clutch
angles as well. These have reached a high point in the musical of the film because the visual style
coincides with the nature of the music s hypnotic jazz, and the mood is just with the audience to attract
them, which is a very versatile and artistic experience that makes Mo Better Blues became one of the
best films ever made by Stricker Lee.

Behavioral Patterns Of The Family System
Every family has a unique system with a set of rules, mostly unspoken, that govern their behavior and
interactions. In dysfunctional families, the symptom of their dysfunction is typically sourced within
their family system. The symptom also has a function it protects family members from uncomfortable
conflict. Dysfunctional families and couples often maintain negative patterns of interacting, and are
unable to transition into new behavioral patterns without therapeutic intervention. In order to help
families develop out of their systematic ways of behaving, it is important to understand the specific
family system that is presented. With a keen understanding of the family s culture, beliefs, etc., the
therapist can develop therapeutic rituals, which are prescribed actions aimed at altering behavioral
patterns that are responsible for maintaining the symptom. The ritual is not a verbal explanation or
criticism of the family system, rather it is a specific set of actions designed to help families create new
patterns of interaction and meaning in their relationships. (p, 5).
Symbols, time and place, and open and closed aspects are fundamental elements that are used to
construct rituals. Symbols are actions or objects utilized in the ritual that represent a new belief within
the family system, which must specifically relate to the particular family culture. The explicit
language of the family sometimes determines to symbol used. by Imber Black 1986nFor example,

  • 4. How To Write A Photo Analysis Essay The weak fall, but the strong will remain and never go under, stated by Anne Frank. I settle on this quote because it is significant to the photo that I have chosen. The photo that I found was searched on Google. When I initially found the photo on Google, it was an image that was originally from Pinterest. As I looked more into the photo it was also shown on many other websites of displayed images but had no information about it. A majority of people ponder about photographs when examined and have their own perspectives about them. In the photo that I have chosen, it could imply to the readers that it suggests the simple act of kindness given to individuals who need happiness. The photo depicts a young girl and a young boy standing on a wooden dock near the ocean as the sun is beginning to set along the side of them. There are a group of geese flying above the ocean water in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This photo looks as if the young girl is offering the young boy help by giving him a balloon and the benefit from the help given is receiving happiness. Although, the photo illustrates more than just the simple fact of giving and receiving. The photo shows the opportunity to help the ones in desperate need. This photo works as a powerful representation of individuals in need. The young girl has all the opportunities in life to do what she wants and still gives her time to help the young boy. That is shown by the illustration of the young girl offering the young boy a balloon. Everyone needs a helping hand at a certain time in their life. Most importantly not everyone knows what people go through but the best option is to offer support whether or not they will accept it. In addition, the worse act that can be given is to ignore someone, and that certain someone can only learn from the action of rejection. This thought is invoked because in the photo it is shown that the young boy does not accept the balloon that is given to him by the young ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Psalm 8, the psalmist wrote: Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? We want to change that point of view. It is a kind of stereotyping when someone says Mini is a young people s car and it is for fun. That s why our goal to be accomplished with this program is to attract new customers regardless of their age range. We can do this by increasing awareness and reposition the Mini brand. We want to increase awareness because we want our potential new customers to be aware of what the company and product stands for. Once we accomplish to attract their awareness and reposition the brand, we want them to have the perception, which we tried to accomplish, of what our brand is. Our communication objective is therefore perception. We want Mini to be perceived as a car that can be driven by anyone from any age range and not a car for only young people to use. Target Audience In this section, we will analyze the target audience of Mini Cooper and will try to picture characteristics of its target market. Financial crises have hit the world economics quite negatively and passenger s car segment has been influenced to a great extent. • 18. Sociological Theories On Crime Sociological theories on crime, whether they are macro or micro, look at external factors in determining causative reasons for criminal conduct (Bohm Vogel, 2011). This process is very different from biological and psychological crime theories, which focus on internal characteristics of a person (Bohm Vogel, 2011). Macrosociological theory accounts for the overall big picture of a society taking into account the physical structure of an area and how it is laid out. This information is used to theorize if they have an influence on criminal activity for that particular location or neighborhood (Bohm Vogel, 2011). Microsociological theories focus in on a more concentrated view of individual s external interactions with each other or specific programs such as church or school (Bohm Vogel, 2011). These theories try to explain if these interactions foster a criminal environment or cause the opposite (Bohm Vogel, 2011). Macrosociological theory accounts for a large area of societal processes (Boundless, n.d.). Macro theory has been practiced since the original studies of Emile Durkheim (Boundless, n.d.). It has also been the most popular choice in sociology crime studies (Boundless, n.d.). Part of the reason for this is because historical evidence shows that early studies of Macro theories, which investigate the entire society makeup, focused on the following three topics. First, sociologists would determine what kept the bonds of a society united (Boundless, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. Phantom of the Opera Review Phantom of the Opera is the longest running musical to date and has become one of the most beloved and well known musicals on Broadway. The musical was inspired and loosely based on the characters and the story of the book Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux. This CD is the original London cast which means that this recording is with the first cast that ever preformed the musical with the actors that created the parts. The musical was written and composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber who is one of the most famous musical composers and has composed some of the most well loved musicals of the last fifty years. Webber created incredible and emotional music for Phantom of the Opera that set this musical apart from all the others. One thing that makes Phantom of the Opera a unique musical experience is because it does not try to fit into one genre and does not try to be too modern. This makes it unique because most of today s musicals are trying to be more pop culture. The Phantom of the Opera manages to stay in the time period where the story takes place but weaves in modern comedy and rock music. The most obvious way that this is done is with the main theme of the musical. The pounding of the organ is one of the most well known themes in musical theatre and it is reminiscent of rock music with the guitar but it is different than rock because it is an organ not a guitar. There are many other contrasts between old and new in the musical. One contrast is of musical and opera. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Bathing suits are defined as improper dressing in public places except for the beach in his town. In his perspective, he does not consider that it is an inappropriate dressing in a local store. On the contrary, he thinks the girls are attracted to him, so he keeps on observing them. However, that s not the only reason Sammy is interested in them. He thinks these girls are different because what they were wearing undoubtedly go against the norm of the society in their time. Sammy describes that: the girls were walking against the usual traffic (748). For Sammy, the girls in bathing suits were actually using their own method to protest conservative rules. They violate the dressing rule in the town which strikes Sammy s mindset. He realizes the bathing suits symbolized personal freedom which is the value he aspires to have in his life. Conventional Drug Delivery Systems ( Ddss ) Abstract: With the emergence of more novel and effective drug therapies, increased importance is being placed upon the methods by which these drugs are being delivered to the body. Different methodologies have been heavily investigated as possible solutions , one of these methods are intelligent or Smart polymeric drug delivery systems . Stimuli responsive and self regulating drug delivery systems have captured the imagination of researchers, in large part because they suggest a means to mimic the physiological homeostatic feedback mechanisms that are essential for health. As dysregulation of homeostasis is a feature of many diseases such as diabetes and cancer. 1. Introduction: Conventional drug delivery systems (DDSs) are often accompanied by systemic side effects that mainly are attributed to their nonspecific bio distribution and uncontrollable drug release characteristics. To overcome these limitations, advanced controlled DDSs have been developed to achieve the release of payloads at the target sites in a spatial controlled manner. Commercially available controlled release devices offer several advantages, e.g. they maintain the drug within the desired therapeutic range with just a single dose, they allow localized drug delivery which ultimately may reduce the need for follow up care, they preserve drugs that are rapidly destroyed by the body and ultimately improve patient compliance. • 25. The Importance Of Second Language Acquisition Abstract An interesting phenomenon in the research of second language acquisition is that learners seem to acquire English grammatical morphemes in a certain order, regardless of their native languages, ages, and learning environments. Furthermore, technique of instruction and data collection seem to have little effect on the acquisition order. This study attempts to investigate the morpheme acquisition order in the writing of Arabic students learning English at king Faisal University, KSA. Data collected from twenty placements tests is examined for fourteen grammatical morphemes and the participants from Saudi Arabian male students at king Faisal University. The acquisition order obtained is compared to orders, found in previous studies. The study does not find a significant correlation between second language acquisition order and first language acquisition order, but high correlations between this study s sequence and those in five other second language acquisition studies give further strength to the idea of a universal ESL morpheme acquisition order. Introduction In the late fifties the predominant view of language learning was Skinner s (1957) behaviorist theory which claimed that learning proceeds according to a series of stimulus/response associations and reinforcement. This view has changed since Chrosky s proposal (1957 1965) that the task, of learning a language is not learning a vast number of sentences, as Skinner believed, but rather learning a system of rules ... • 36. The Strange Death Of Silas Deane Summary Studying history can be an active, often arduous process, dependent on making assumptions with the evidence available and proving those assumptions to be correct or otherwise. But it can also be an easy task if done incorrectly, one of cutting corners and assuming falsehoods to be true for the sake of convenience. This is the way that many historians, amateur or professional, approach history. Not only does this approach exclude any possibility for well constructed conclusions to be made, it can also leave the populace ignorant of the truth. In The Strange Death of Silas Deane , James West Davidson and Mark Hamilton Lytle argue that history is not merely the act of collecting data rather of making assumptions about the data through the use of countless rhetorical questions, paragraph organization, and a sardonic tone. The Strange Death of Silas Deane retraces the story of Silas Deane, an early American politician, and the events that led up to his death. The authors begin by revealing the conclusion that most historians have made about the case: Deane committed suicide. Then, they steadily disprove that conclusion with a myriad of facts and interpretations. The essay provides a thorough recount of Deane s life and argues that Silas didn t commit suicide rather, he was murdered. To give weight to this hypothesis, the authors draw from reserves of knowledge about Deane and his closest friend, Edward Bancroft. After investigating Bancroft s life and his relationship with ... The two dominated this vast grassland, and they were able to hunt and catch any animal they wished. Their favorite meals consisted of the plain sandy yellow brown coated giraffe and zebra. One sunny day, the giraffe and zebra were hiding from the leopard and Ethiopian within the shadows of the trees. Mysteriously, jagged shadow shapes appeared on the fur of the giraffe and the zebra. • 40. A Common Problem Today For Adolescent Christians A common problem today for adolescent Christians is the lack of intimacy with God, and not fully experiencing Christ in their lives. The solution to this problem can be found in the spiritual disciplines. Spiritual disciplines are practices that aid in transforming believers into the image of Christ, and help them to develop a more intimate relationship with Christ. They help to bring a Christian into the presence of God, and to bring them a portion of heaven. According to Isaac Ambrose, an English Puritan minister from the seventeenth century, spiritual disciplines are the vehicles to God. He said: ...the saints look upon duties (the Word, Sacraments, Prayers, etc.) as bridges to give them a passage to God, as boats to carry them into the bosom of Christ, as means to bring them into more intimate communion with their heavenly Father, and therefore are they so much taken with them (Schwanda 1). Ambrose argued that through spiritual disciplines, one could experience an intimate relationship with God. The spiritual disciplines are broken into three categories, inward, outward, and corporate. From these three categories, the three main focuses are meditation, service, and worship. Through the application of these three spiritual disciplines, the main goal is to enter a deeper, more intimate relation with Christ and to be shaped into the image of Christ. The first spiritual discipline is meditation. According to WordNet, meditation is the continuous and profound ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Globalization and Immigration Introduction Nowadays migration is getting to be one of the dominant characteristics of the modern world since at the present moment that movement of people and migration of citizens from one country to another become a norm. Not surprisingly that such unparallel and extremely high level of migration results in substantial demographic, ethnical and socio cultural changes in many countries of the world. In this respect, it is worthy of mention that such a situation with the migration is the result of the recent trend in the world economy which is characterized by processes which are generally called globalization. Naturally, it resulted in an extreme specialization of countries that makes their economies one sided, and consequently more exposed to economic and social crisis. However, globalization developed international contacts and made it possible to cooperate on the global scale. As a result, nowadays, basically due to the high level of development of IT and Internet, specialists physically living in different countries of the world may work on one and the same product. So, it may be said that globalization eliminated geographical boundaries between countries (Gomory 2002:187). As for its effects, they are quite contradictive. The contrast is particularly obvious between well developed countries and developing ones. In short, its effect may be expressed in one phrase, richer countries become richer, and poor countries become poorer. Though it sounds a bit radical and more precisely, it should be said that globalization makes developing countries more dependant on well developed and it also makes practically all the countries of the world more submitted to global crisis since their economies are closely interlinked than a crisis in one country would lead to the same effect on economies of other countries that are its economic partners. In this respect, migration seems to be probably the most effective by such a striking contrast that leads to high level of emigration from developing countries and respectively high level of ... Children, specifically boys, were expected to be well schooled and regiments, physically and mentally. Cato was spoken to have been his son s reading teacher, tutor, and athletic trainer, forcing his son to fight and brave the extremes of nature (Plutarch 411). As Rome s military vigor was seen as important to the strength of the empire, Plutarch hints that it was crucial for children to be disciplined into great fighters. Cato s attention to his son s education had appeared to be successful in Plutarch s eyes, as Cato s son grew into a formidable soldier despite his frail body (412). In dysfunctional families, the symptom of their dysfunction is typically sourced within their family system. The symptom also has a function it protects family members from uncomfortable conflict. Dysfunctional families and couples often maintain negative patterns of interacting, and are unable to transition into new behavioral patterns without therapeutic intervention. In order to help families develop out of their systematic ways of behaving, it is important to understand the specific family system that is presented. With a keen understanding of the family s culture, beliefs, etc., the therapist can develop therapeutic rituals, which are prescribed actions aimed at altering behavioral patterns that are responsible for maintaining the symptom. The ritual is not a verbal explanation or criticism of the family system, rather it is a specific set of actions designed to help families create new patterns of interaction and meaning in their relationships.
