The law of conservation of mass states the total mass is the same for reactants and products. Some reactions are reversible and reach equilibrium. Le Chatelier's principle states that if equilibrium is disturbed the reaction will offset the disturbance. Combination reactions combine substances to form new ones, while decomposition reactions break down compounds.

This document discusses how the principles of the Canada Health Act, which established a universal public healthcare system, have come under threat in recent years. Budget cuts and lack of funding have undermined the accessibility and quality of care promised by the Act. While governments and medical professionals agree the system needs improvement, solutions involving private sector incorporation may compromise the universal and accessible nature of Canada's public healthcare.

2. The Act of Sodomy in Florence during the Italian Renaissance
The Act of Sodomy in Florence During the Italian Renaissance During the Italian Renaissance, the
sexual environment of fifteenth century Florentine society is described as Florentine men partaking in
some kind of same sex experience. These same sex acts were not just wrong doings, but a fundamental
part of Florentine masculine identity. More specifically I will focus on sodomy, the act of anal or oral
sex, which can be heterosexual or homosexual. What I will be analyzing in this paper is the term
sodomy in fifteenth century Florence. The Church in Florence considered this act to be both criminal
and sinful and it will be presented through government documentations from Gene Brucker s
anthology The Society of Renaissance Florence: A Documentary Study. While the harsh treatment of
sodomy was generally due to religious beliefs, I believe the act of sodomy in Florence established the
harsh treatment it did not solely because of religious beliefs, but also due to social, moral, and
demographic features. According to documents within Brucker s anthology, the criticism against
sodomy is due to religion within the Florentine society. The government document titled Legislation
Against the Vice, dated 1418, states sodomy was ...so contrary to nature that the anger of the
omnipotent God is incited not only against the sons of men but also against the community... (Brucker
202). This assertion expresses how much Christian religion played into the treatment of sodomy.

3. The Theme Of Knowledge In Seed By Lisa Heathfield
Seed, a book by Lisa Heathfield, applies the idea that knowledge is power, but ignorance is bliss
through the character development of Pearl, the depth of settings and ambiguity. Seed s narrative
quality explores that knowledge does not always make one influential, however, not acquiring
knowledge is a relieving sensation.
The development of Pearl was highlighted through the narration of the book, explicitly describing how
she felt when Ellis would express his conflicting opinions on Papa S s practices. The narrative of Pearl
conveyed her as an innocent character who was unaware of the good from people outside of her cult,
named Seed. She preferred not to bother herself with teachings other than what Papa S taught the cult.
Nonetheless, her beliefs changed gradually from the appearance of Ellis. He told Pearl about his
experiences outside the cult, which signifies the power he could have with his knowledge. Ellis was
more educated than the children of the cult, therefore, he would ... Show more content on

Pearl s encounter with Papa S shows how uncomfortable she is when he laid on the bed with her when
she said, Papa S touches my arm. And I hate it. (pg. 236 237) The ambiguity of the scene leads the
audience to believe how inappropriate Papa S s actions were. Pearl s point of view during the scene
suggested reflection on Ellis s comment about Papa S corrupt behaviour, causing her to flee from Papa
S. The knowledge of Papa S actions lead her to doubt his guidance which was unsettling and
frightening for Pearl. Her reaction provided perception into how recognising dangerous situations is
significant to her survival and improves awareness rather than being oblivious. Although the narrative
of Pearl provided vague details on the scene, the reader s mind is encouraged to wander and reflect on
what Papa S could have

4. Analysis Of Nigel Latta Blows Stuff Up Essay
Nigel Latta Blows Stuff Up is a New Zealand based, science themed television show. Each episode is
packed with dramatic and entertaining experiments, testing the fundamentals of science. This essay
will look at what the production manager s duties for this series involve, what major issues and risk
factors the production manager would need to address, and it will suggest course of action that may
solve these problems. These factors will be discussed for pre production, during production and
postproduction. This essay will also focus on examples from episode 1 of the series.
Pre production
The production manager is extremely important in the pre production phase as the work they do in this
time helps to assure that the production and post production run smoothly (Stradling, 2010). The
production manager in this stage is in charge of all the planning around the physical aspects of the
production including budgeting, scheduling, personal, locations, along with other aspects. This is all
taken care of before the series is scheduled to start shooting. Before any of these jobs are undertaken,
it is important for the production manager to understand what the producer wants, what the investor
NZ on Air wants, and what the production company Razor Film wants in order to fulfill each of their
requirements in the show.

International Great Northern Railroad route. By 1890, the population had grown to almost 800, and in
2010, there were more than 28,000 people residing in Kyle. Despite its explosive growth, most of the
property owners in Kyle remain committed to maintaining their properties to ensure that the city
retains its quaint charm. This includes maintaining the asphalt pavement found on many city streets,

New asphalt pavement should have sealant applied within the first year following installation.
Depending on traffic volume and vehicle weights, sealant will need to be applied every two or three
years to ensure maximum protection. Sealcoating guards against sun damage as well as damage
caused by petroleum based automotive fluids. It also revitalizes the color of asphalt that has faded.
Have any breaks in the pavement repaired quickly. Cracks, deep cuts and potholes can let water drain
beneath the pavement and erode the foundation. Once the foundation has become eroded and unstable,
the pavement loses its ability to flex under load and extensive cracking can occur.
Make parking lots safer and more attractive by having fresh paint applied to mark parking spaces,
crosswalks, loading zones, travel directions, exits, handicapped parking spaces and fire lanes.
If an aging pavement has become unsightly, check to see if it can be salvaged with an overlay before
committing to a total replacement. If the foundation is stable, it might be cost effective to choose an
overlay, which is a course of asphalt applied to existing pavement.

The Mexican Revolution began November 20th, 1910. It is disputable that it extended up to two
decades and seized more than 900,000 lives. This revolution, however, also ended dictatorship in
Mexico and restored the rights of farm workers, or peons, and its citizens. Revolutions are often
started because a large group of individuals want to see a change. These beings decided to be the
change that they wanted to see and risked many things, including their lives. Francisco Pancho Villa
and Emiliano Zapata are the main revolutionaries remembered. These figures of the revolution took on

Díaz, afraid of losing his presidency, rigged the election and had Madero arrested. After his release, he
fled to the United States and planned a revolt for November 20th, 1910. While this revolt did fail, it
inspired many people who were tired of being dictated to join in a revolution. Banding Together
Soon after this failed revolt, groups began to form in hopes to successfully remove Diaz. In Northern
Mexico, Francisco Villa returned and gathered an army of Mexican cowboys. Another army was led
by a peasant unsatisfied with the government with the name of Pascual Orozco. One of the bigger
groups consisted of Emiliano Zapata and they were called the Zapatistas. This force grew to include
over 5,000 men. In 1911 these groups worked together to overrun Díaz. Zapata seized the town of
Cuautla, and afterwards cut off the town from Mexico City. Díaz started to realize what was
happening and fled to Europe. This victory would start of a new conflict beginning.
The New Conflict
Soon after the victory Francisco Madero was declared as the new president. Madero tried to please
everybody which led to nothing being done. Nobody liked the lack of progress and people once again
started forming revolutionary groups. Victoriano Huerta, the leader of the conservative federal army,
and a faction of people led by Díaz s nephew Felix Díaz fought for ten days in Mexico City. This
battle is known as La Decena Tragica. On the ninth day of the battle, Felix Díaz

7. The Tragic Characters Of Sophocles Antigone
In literature, a tragedy is a drama where the main character in the end suffers extreme sorrow because
of their mistakes or poor judgment. If characters fates are to suffer the extreme sorrows, then these
characters are tragic characters. These tragic characters, however, must follow Aristotle s principles
which include hamartia, hubris, peripeteia, anagnorisis, nemesis, and catharsis. If the character has all
six of Aristotle s principles, then the character can qualify as an Aristotelian tragic character. Two
examples of Aristotelian tragic characters are from Sophocles Greek play Antigone from the trilogy
dealing with Oedipus and his children (Oedipus Rex, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone). The two
Aristotelian tragic characters are Creon, the king of Thebes in Antigone, and Antigone herself.
Creon s hamartia, his flaw that causes his downfall, includes his stubbornness which causes him to not
listen to the opinions of others, including Tiresias, additionally, this also connects to hubris since he
also did this because of his pride. In Antigone, Creon is an Aristotelian tragic character. His six
principles are more obvious to the reader. Tiresias tries to warn Creon as to what will come if he doesn
t change his ways now, but he ignores Tiresias even though he is a prophet. Creon says Tiresias sold
his wisdom and lets out his words for hire (Sophocles 837). This means that Creon thinks that Tiresias
has come to say these things to him because someone pays Tiresias

9. Personal Reflective Essay
When I am not working at my grocery store, I coach a high school bowling team. I have been bowling
for many years and coaching for two. Since I took over the team, we have won back to back state
championships. However, with any sport comes strategic thinking between the head coach and his
assistants. Before every match, I and my assistant coach have to create a line up that obtains stressful
strategic thinking. The way bowling matches work is that we have a team of six bowlers and each
bowler is matched up against their opponent on the other team. If that person wins their game, they get
a point. The most points at the end of the match wins the match. So, when writing my lineup, I have to
determine which players to match up to the other team s players. I could put my strongest player
against their strongest player and maybe get a point, or I can put my strongest player against their
weakest players and guarantee a point. Also, I could mix up my lineup and place the bowlers in any
lineup. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

maximize the probability of my team winning the match. Obviously, the other person s dominant
strategy would be the lineup that the other coach created. The unique solution that I chose is to go

Though overweight and an excess of regional adipose tissue are considered major risk factors for

Lesbians, gays, bisexual, and transgender Americans face many oppressions and do not share the same

However, in today s society homosexual are not giving the same opportunity to achieve their pursuit

12. Pros And Cons Of Ancient Greece Dbq Essay
Ancient Greece DBQ: Marissa Ames From the struggles the people who lived in Ancient Greece had
to face to the positives, geography has always had a great influence on Greece and how the people
there survived. Two big positives being the climate which was perfect for growing valuable olive trees
and another positive being the seas that surrounded Greece and allowed the Greeks to trade and help
them in many other ways. Two big negatives being the rocky, mountainous terrain and another
negative being the common volcano eruptions and earthquakes. Although Ancient Greece had its
negatives so does every country and it were these pros and cons that helped the Greeks develop
essential survival skills. One example, of a positive of the geography of Ancient Greece was the hot,
dry climate that as stated in Document 4 was perfect for growing olive trees. Olive trees were
important because they were valuable, for from olive trees the Greeks could make olive oil which
according to Document 4 could be used to trade for goods that were not available in Greece ... Show

The field of psychology is truly fascinating, as the discovery of new and remarkable ideas arise with

a sense, research is a trial and error approach as researchers are not always cognizant of the results that
a study will provide. However, with sufficient knowledge the researcher can conduct a study, with less

Decision s Model in Outline Form Is your question adequate and sufficient? This is determined by
figuring out whether if you have put enough thought into your question, if only you can answer the
following 4 questions (Sukal, 2013).
(1). What is your overarching research question? (Sukal, 2013)
Note: According to Sukal (2013), this can be determined by figuring out whether if there are keywords
within the question, such as effects to refer to cause and effect (Sukal, 2013). The word association ,
indicates figuring out if there is a relationship amongst the variables (Sukal, 2013). The word
prediction can signify regression (Sukal, 2013).
(2). How many Independent Variables (IV), Dependent Variables (DV), and covariate variables are in
the study? (Sukal, 2013).
Note: The dependent variable is thought of as the criterion or consequence variable, while independent
variable is thought to be the predictor or the variable that brings out an effect on the dependent

d. Mediating.
Power point 11
If you are having trouble understanding this variable, you are exactly where you are supposed to be.
Hopefully, my explanation will help you! A mediating variable explains the relationship between the
two other variables. As an example, let s consider the relation between social class (SES) and
frequency of breast self exams (BSE). Age might be a moderator variable, in that the relation between
SES and BSE could be stronger for older women and less strong or nonexistent for younger women.
Education might be a mediator variable in that it explains why there is a relation between SES and
BSE. When you remove the effect of education, the relation between SES and BSE disappears.
Power point 12
While researchers will never state that one variable caused another variable to occur, as there are so
many variables to consider in social science research.
However, we do use the term causal relationship or cause and effect relationship , where the cause has
to precede the effect and the relationship cannot be explained by any other factors that are being
considered.

INTRODUCTION
In the past, aboriginal suicide has been addressed the same way as non aboriginal populations in both
national and provincial suicide prevention approaches (Health Canada, 2013; Hunter Harvey, 2002;
MacNeil, 2008). However, these approaches are not feasible to generalize throughout the aboriginal

these strategies do not consider (Elliott Farrelly, 2004). Many situations have occurred that makes it
evident that these two populations need separate suicide prevention strategies and at large, the
Aboriginal population needs to be addressed immediately. This paper will address the background
issues of the increased rate of suicide within aboriginal communities. It will then discuss a policy
statement that is feasible for the prevention of suicide within the aboriginal youth population. The
policy to be discussed is an in school program to educate individuals on Aboriginal suicide and
prevention. This school based approach uses an inclusive liberalism ideology to inform students about
the risks and warning signs of suicide. In addition, the results of the class consultation will be
addressed to discuss the strengths and limitations of this approach. Therefore, this paper addresses a
feasible policy that will prevent suicide within aboriginal youth.

16. Religion In The Middle Ages
The Middle Ages is the time between the fall of the Roman Empire to the rise of the Renaissance. As
the government of Rome disappeared with the fall of the Roman Empire, people were living
dangerous, hopeless lives. Religion became an important influence in the Middle Ages not just in
Rome, but for other countries in Medieval Europe who sought comfort in this religion. One of the
most influential and rising religion during the Middle Ages was Christianity. The Rise and Spread of
Christianity in the Middle Ages can be characterized by the fall of the Roman Empire, efforts by Pope
Gregory the Great, and activities of the church.
The foreshadowing fall of the soon to be conquered Roman Empire is where Christianity began to rise
and spread. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Monks were members of monasteries who were isolated from the world having to give up money,
property, and personal clothing. Monasteries attracted brighter minds with special skills that were
needed by society thus, making isolation impossible. For example, monks provided health care;
managing hospitals and orphanages in Europe. They also played government roles since they made up
most of the population who could read or write during the Middle Ages. Monasteries served as one of
the most reliable places for education. Many parents during the Middle Ages sent their children to
church for education. Following the fall of the Roman Empire, those who could read or write were
taught in monasteries whose monks were teachers. The monistic schools also provided most of the
religious teachings that were available to people of the Middle Ages. Not only did monasteries provide
education and religious teachings, they also promoted values that became crucial to medieval
civilization. Values such as self discipline, self denial, social responsibility, and charity were being
taught at monasteries. Since monasteries provided a place of refuge, medical care, and education, the
monks have had a great influence on converting many citizens to Christianity (Corrick

17. The Aging Process Essays
The Aging Process As we grow in to adulthood, many things start to change in our life. Aging is an
unavoidable process, beginning at conception and ending with death. The process does not proceed at
a uniform rate all over the body. As we age, the organ systems of individuals age at different rates. Our
body gradually slows down in early adult life. These changes are not apparent until perhaps 50 years
of age as they are not perceptible. The skeletal system gradually changes over the years until it is
porous and brittle, as the bones lose calcium and their density. This may be more pronounced in
women with menopause. These losses are multifactioral and involve age related changes (reduce CA
absorption, increased bone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The thyroid gland often becomes lumpy (nodular). Metabolism gradually declines, beginning around
age 20. Parathyroid hormone affects calcium and phosphate levels affect the strength of the bones.
Some hormones are decreased, some unchanged, and some increased with age. Female reproductive
system has a number of changes. The cessation of menopause is an obvious sign of aging. A transition
period, called the climacteric, lasts for many years before and after a woman s last menstrual period.
Hormone levels change, physical changes in the woman s entire reproductive tract, and psychological
changes. The intricate relationship changes occur between the ovarian hormones and those produced
by the pituitary gland (in the brain). The ovaries stop releasing eggs (ova), and menstrual periods stop.
When hormone levels fall, the vaginal walls become less elastic, thinner, and less rigid. The external
genital tissue decreases and thins (atrophy of the labia). The pubic muscles lose tone, and the vagina,
uterus, or urinary bladder can fall out of position. A prolapsed of any of these structures increases the
risk of problems such as urine leakage. Decreasing amount of estrogen produced by the ovaries may
cause hot flashes, mood disturbances, headaches, and sleep disturbances are common symptoms that
occur during menopause. Male

My own sympathies, supported by arguments like the completeness of physics (Papineau, 2001)
among others and empirical research is with the physicalist approach. However, one of the problems
with physicalism is its reductivism. For example, there is the claim that consciousness is no more than
a brain process (Smart, 1959); however, the problem of these reductive approaches is to find the
physical process or the physical laws that can explain the mental in those terms. There are strong
arguments against such reduction: (Putnam, 1967, Davidson, 1970, Fodor, 1974) with the ideas of
multiple realizability, special sciences and anomalous monism are all critical of reductive views,
consequently a form of physicalism in non reductive terms is not just plausible, but a promissory
alternative of understanding the mental in physical terms; for instance, Baker (2008) suggests that
nonreductive materialism holds that the mental is ontologically part of the material world; yet, mental
properties are causally efficacious without being reducible to physical properties (Baker, 2009, p.
109).
It is argued in this thesis that physicalist ontology can be secure without the constraints and problems
of reductionism, through this non reductive physicalism (NRP for short). Moreover, if identity theory
can be reconciled with a view such as functionalism then non reductive physicalism can be argue it is

20. Positive Effects Of Underdevelopment In Africa
underdevelopment in Africa was made possible by positive feedback loops starting with the uneven
development in earlier centuries enforced by European constant exploitation of raw materials and
human labor from Africa. It traces the root of underdevelopment Africa back to the pre colonial
period. The natural path of development from communalism to feudalism and capitalism in Africa was
messed up by the European slave trade. The trade in slave was facilitated by African rulers greed for
luxury goods and European products. The effect of this trade was devastating in that it caused
considerable dislocation and disruption in the local economy, caused internal conflict as a result of
slave raiding and a huge loss of African labor. (Rodney ignored the Arab slave trade, which caused an
equivalent loss of human beings, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rodney puts together a biting criticism of Europe s interaction with Africa starting in the 15th century
with trading, both the slave trade and the trade in goods. This essentially killed inter Africa trade,
forcing African civilizations to only trade with European and other western economies. This also
changed the economies of African civilizations to suit what the traders wanted, whether human beings,
cotton, or minerals. When European powers grew as a result of the profits from trade, they then carved
Africa into its current state and entered the continent to force more and more production of things that
would increase profit for the western markets. Banks, industries, and nations prospered by the use of
underpaid, sometimes forced African labor. Meanwhile, civilizations fell apart and education came to
a stand still. This book left me further convinced in the concept of reparations, not just for slavery, but

During that period he carved several prophets for the Florentine Campanile, including the Zuccone
(Baldhead), a vibrant characterization. In 1430 32, he went to Rome with Brunelleschi and became
one of the first Renaissance artists interested in ancient monuments. Reflections of classical putti
(male infants) can be found in his rendering of the lively cherubs in the Singing Gallery (1433 38,
cathedral mus.) and in the pulpit at Prato. Classical influence is also evident in his bronze David
(c.1432, Bargello), one of the earliest freestanding nude figures of the Renaissance. In demand
throughout Italy, Donatello was invited to Padua in 1443, where he stayed for 10 years as the head of
an enormous workshop. He designed the equestrian statue of Gattamelata (1447 53) and the high altar
for Sant Antonio (1446 50). Upon his return to Florence, he carved the acutely expressive Magdalen

24. Molar Mass Of Butane And Unknown
Molar Mass of Butane and unknown
Abstract:
The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the exact
mixture of gases in the lighter. The results of this lab were the mass of the lighter, as 100 mL of water
was displaced, was 0.27g, 0.17g, and 0.28g. The molar masses of the gasses for three trials were 64.3
g/mol, 40.5 g/mol, and 66.7 g/mol.
Background:
The purpose of this lab is to find the molar mass of mixed gases in a lighter, and to calculate the exact
mixture of gases in the lighter. While collecting the volume of Butane gas in a lighter, the molar mass
can also be determined. When attempting to find the molar mass, water displacement is the best
method to use. This can be determined because the equal volumes of all gases contain equal number of
particles, so long as they are measured at the same temperature and pressure. Ideal gas law is the
chemistry involved with this experiment. The equations M=mRT/PV and PV=nRT can be seen
throughout this experiment.
Pre Lab questions:
The Ideal gas law demonstrates a relationship between different values in the equation PV=nRT. The
ideal gas law will be used to find the molar mass of butane.
The ideal gas law can be changed with the equation n=m/M. It can be seen that moles equals mass
over molar mass. This can be changed, and substituted into the Ideal gas law to find the molar mass.
The equation goes from PV=nRT to M=mRT/PV.
Molar Mass is the mass of a given substance. It

the entire story, from what we imagine of the characters to the ending of the story. As in the short
story, the story is more about Connie and Oates only uses a few sentences to describe her family
members, she doesn t provide much detail either. On the other hand, in the movie by Joyce Chopra,

new feeling to it. The new ending solves all the conflict between the mother and Connie when they

The role of the Middle East has been very crucial to the United States, especially after WWII. The
U.S. had three strategic goals in the Middle East and consistently followed them throughout various
events that unfolded in the region. First, with the emergence of the cold war between the Soviet Union
and the U.S., policymakers began to recognize the importance of the Middle East as a strategic area in
containing Soviet influence. This also coincides with the U.S. becoming increasingly wary of Arab
nationalism and the threat it posed to U.S. influence. Secondly, the emergence of the new Israeli state

The U.S. was cautious in approaching the problem with Syria, though. They did not want to appear as
having imperial motives and thus sought incite a regional response, especially the support of Saudi
Arabia. The relationship with Saudi Arabia was strategic in itself because of its fundamental role in
the Arab world, especially in dealing with Egypt, as well as its increasing wealth in oil. The U.S.,
though, did not get the response they were looking for. Saudi Arabia placed the problem squarely on
the U.S. government s shoulders and therefore caused them to change their policies towards Syria.
One such change would be that of a military intervention in Syria. Eisenhower could not justify
military intervention with Syria without separating it from the similar crisis in the Suez. Thus, military
intervention in Syria was justified through asserting that Syria was secretly being infiltrated by the
Soviet Union. To solidify this policy the United States needed to find physical proof that this was
indeed happening in Syria. This further fueled the need for an all Arab response in Syria. When other
Arab nations refused to respond to the crisis the United States looked to Turkey to stage a military
intervention against Syria. This move was not a smart one in that it prompted a response from the
Soviet Union in which it warned Turkey not to take action against Syria.
In this particular crisis it seems as if U.S. policy of

27. Chaucer s Retraction In The Canterbury Tales Essay
Different scholars have had different understandings of Chaucer s Retraction and The Canterbury
Tales. The divergent views have drawn different interpretations of the intended meaning and the
context of its existence. Many scholars believe that The Parson s Tale was Chaucer s final work. Some
people feel Chaucer s Retraction was the final one in the collection, while others doubt that Chaucer
was the real author of the repudiation. This dilemma is implored by the fact the retraction completely
disowns the earlier versions of Chaucer s works. Those who agree that Chaucer s Retraction is the
actual work of Geoffrey Chaucer give several reasons why he disowned his work. They explain what
he sought to achieve and how the retraction relates to The Parson s Tale and the whole framework of
The Canterbury Tales.
The fact that Chaucer s main reason of retracting his tales in The Canterbury Tales is to avoid
accusations arising from writing some of the tales is no secret. The fictions rather use some words and
an approach that at the time would have sounded offensive to the pilgrimage or as a criticism of the
church. He uses the retraction to appeal to not only truth as an ideal virtue but also to the words of the
pilgrims that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

and Chaucer s Retraction help to look back on the other tales, which are rather vulgar in language and

experience (Zips, 224). Garvey did not feel restricted by established political ideologies, instead he
felt free to pick out the best attributes of every government. Ultimately, Garveyism hoped to develop
the African continent into a modern network of nations, modeling it after the United States and
Western Europe (Lewis, 146).
Garvey established the UNIA in Jamaica in the year 1914, two years later he left for the United States
in order to gain more momentum for his movement and spread the African unity he had started in
Jamaica. Before leaving Jamaica, Garvey made a prophecy of sorts to his followers: Look into Africa
for the crowning of a black king. He shall be the Redeemer (Barrett, 67). From this prediction stems
most of the discrepancy between Garveyites and Rastafarians, something I will discuss later in this
paper.
The four main themes that the Garvey movement was built upon were 1) Africa for Africans at home
and abroad, 2) unity, 3) self reliance, and 4) retaining their black pride in the presence of whites
(Chevannes, 95). Garvey brought this ideology with him to the United States where he founded an
American branch of the UNIA in 1917 and furthered his initiatives

35. Difficult To Amend The Constitution In The United States
The founding fathers made it so difficult to amend the constitution for numerous reasons. The most
obvious being that it was considered a safe guard for the Americans. It was meant to protect the people
from tyranny. They wanted to insure no one can just come in and amend it without thinking of the
common good of the people. The document was so very well written and thought out, they knew that
they wouldn t need many add ins. To make the process complicated means that if what the future
government wanted to change was that necessary, it would find its way to be decided, voted on, and
added in.
There are many benefits for the purpose of making the constitution so complicated to amend. They
wanted to ensure that both parties could decide on

36. Osmolar Contrast Media
In order to boost image resolution and enhance pathology perception, imaging proficiency customarily
enrol contrast media. Usually contrast agents recently in use contain iodine, and are further specified
as high osmolar contrast media (HOCM), low osmolar contrast media (LOCM), and isotonic contrast
media (IOCM), cling to their osmolality relative to plasma. LOCM or IOCM commonly used in
majority study. All HOCM agents are ionic, with an osmolality predominantly five to eight times that
of plasma. The glomerulus with no tubular reabsorption or excretion instantly sieve the injected
contrast media. For patient with normal renal consequence, contrast material within the plasma has a
half life of 1 to 2 hours and almost all will be evacuate within 24 hours. All iodinated contrast agents
are dialyzable. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The glomerulus filtered these agents but they servile water reabsorption thus have elevated
concentration within the tubular system. The glomerulus with no tubular reabsorption or excretion
does not filtered IOCM agent. These agents are predominantly not used for renal imaging, being
practically entirely used for cardiac catheterization. Besides, organic radiographic iodinated contrast
media (ICM) have been amid the most repeatedly authorize drugs in the history of modern remedy
since their establishment in the 1950s. Without these agents, the phenomenon of adjacent day
radiologic imaging would be impaired. ICM predominantly have a proficient safety evidence.
Unpropitious consequence from the intravascular regulation of ICM are predominantly mild and self
limited and reactions that transpire from the extravascular use of ICM are sparse. Nonetheless, severe
or life threatening responses can transpire with either course of

37. Harriet Burge s Model
For decades, experts have investigate the role of mycotoxins and how they related to people suffering
negative health effects after occupying a water damaged building. In 1966, the early years of this
investigation, Harriet Burge, a renowned industry leader in fungal contamination, gave a risk
assessment to review the indoor contaminations of mold. What did they incorporate?
Burge s model examined both the allergic and poisonous characteristics related to mold. During the
study of mycotoxins, Burge s model showed that the majority of mold growth has not developed
extensively enough to produce harmful health effects. In the years that followed, many experts
challenged that assessment on numerous fronts.
The recent anecdotal, medical and analytical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, despite an almost obvious connection, most researchers believe that occupants who
spend time in water damaged environments would encounter the poison in too small of an amount to
cause symptoms. We do not have research to suggest that anyone has ever been exposed to enough
mycotoxin to experience the symptoms.
Dave Gallup, chairperson at EMLab, conducted a study where he created a formula to look at the dose
needed to cause health effect. In it, he calculated that a person would to live in a hugely water
damaged structure for more than 1,000 days before they might reach a level that may cause health
issues.
Despite the fact that these scientific calculations made sense and other researchers had made similar
evaluations, there were still occupants left sickened by water damaged buildings. Nevertheless, as they
studied the concepts from the allied fields more closely, they created a better model. This deal with
total body burden, which had been developed for dust exposure, but it could be used for mycotoxins,

38. James Butler Hickok And The Civil War
James Butler Hickok was born on May 27, 1837, in a small, clean, agricultural community called Troy
Grove, Illinois which is located in the mid northern part of the state. James Hickok was better known
as Wild Bill, a name he got the name while fighting in the Civil War. Wild Bill s early career consisted
of many jobs. At the age of 17, Bill was a towpath driver on the Illinois and Michigan Canal; he also
worked on a stage coach to keep bandits from robbing the stage and passengers. When he was
working one night a cinnamon bear attacked Bill and he killed the bear with just a six inch knife. Bill
was in the middle of his career when he started to work as a lawman and a scout. Wild Bill was
involved in several duels, one was a duel with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Old West Legends and Icons) When Bill was working as a stage coach driver he was sleeping outside
and one of the travelers was awaken by a disturbance and they lit a kerosene lamp to find Bill being
mauled by a cinnamon bear. (Old West Legends and Icons) When the fight was over Bill was just
wounded, but the bear lay dead on the ground from Hickok s six inch knife. (Old West Legends and
Icons) After being mauled by the bear he moved back to Monticello and was given the position as the
peace officer. After that he also worked at the Overland Express and for the Pony Express stations
located in Rock Creek, Nebraska. In the year of 1861, Hickok was recovering from his injuries that
taken place back in Rock Creek, he joined the Civil War. After he was injured he moved to
Leavenworth Kansas and enlisted in the Union Army. When he enlisted he enlisted as a civilian scout.
(Chronology on Life of James Butler Hickok) Bill took part in the battle of Wilson Creek in Missouri.
The commander was killed in battle and Wild Bill admitted to his brother in a letter that he was scared
under fire for the first time. (Chronology on Life of James Butler Hickok) In 1862, he was given the
duty as chief wagon master. While he was in the position as chief, he got the name of Wild Bill . Bill
was in Independence Missouri, he noticed a large crowd and went over there and appeared in the
