Utilization of Biodegradable Kitchen Wastes into Organic Fertilizer Using Earthworms * Abstract
One of the effective means to at least lessen the occurrence of our present garbage disposal problem is
through the use of methods that are non toxic, less expensive, less harmful, and yet equally effective.
This project aims to provide for a natural and effective way of disposing garbage.
During the experiment, kitchen wastes were collected. The materials were shredded and placed in
garbage bags with small holes. The temperature inside the bags was allowed to lower.
Three set ups were prepared and were covered with plastic. The first box contained pure carabao

Every living cell contains nitrogen and its abundance leads to green, succulent growth.
Phosphorous occurs in the protoplasm, with its great concentration in seeds thereby increasing their
production. Potassium influences the uptake of other elements and affects both respiration and
transpiration (Fitzpatrick, 1974). * Methodology
Kitchen wastes, composed mainly of vegetable and fruit peelings, were gathered, shredded, and placed
in garbage bags with small holes. Temperature build up inside the bags due to partial decomposition
was measured and allowed to lower down for one month until three consecutive declining of
temperature were achieved.
Three set ups measuring 15 x 8 inches were prepared and were covered with plastic. One box
contained pure carabao manure, the other box contained 70 percent carabao manure and 30 percent
processed kitchen wastes and the last box contained pure processed kitchen waste. About one hundred
pieces of Lumbricus terrestris were placed in each set up. The boxes were placed in a lighted area to
prevent the worms from escaping Since worms are known to be light sensitive. The set ups were
checked daily and watered to keep moisture. Upon consumption of the contents of the boxes, as
evidenced by the appearance of brown granular structures, the set ups were spread on newspapers
under the sunlight. The Lumbricus terrestris were gathered. The resultant product, called earthworm
castings, were then sun dried and passed

Every community has its unique economic framework that is accompanied by clear laws, institutions,
and policies. All these have an impact on the way in which the economic resources and even the
financial burdens of people are distributed. The economic categorizations are always the workmanship
of human political systems that frequently change from time to time across societies. The shape of the
economic frameworks is very critical as it determines how the financial resources are distributed and it
is the nature in which the funds are distributed that affect the lives of the citizens. Arguments that
revolve around which framework are to be preferred in the distribution of the economic resources is
what entails distributive justice. The principles of distributive justice are therefore regarded as a
freedom for seeking moral guidance for the political systems that hinders the spreading of economic
benefits and costs in

Allusions In The Tempest
Allusion Allusion is a brief and indirect reference to a person, place, thing or idea of historical,
cultural, literary or political significance. Often the reference is well known and can sometimes give
further insight on certain meanings and display greater context. Example 1: Marlowe s Doctor Faustus
Act III: Learnèd Faustus, to find the secrets of astronomy Graven in the book of Jove s high
firmament, Did mount him up to scale Olympus top, Jove s high firmament in this passage refers to
the vast stretches of the universe. Olympus top is an allusion to Greek Mythology where Mount
Olympus is the home of gods. Example 2: Milton s Paradise Lost , Book 6: All night the dread less

It is a metonymy because the word ears replaces the concept of attention. Example 2: Out, Out by
Robert Frost. As he swung toward them holding up the hand Half in appeal, but half as if to keep The
life from spilling In these lines, the expression The life from spilling is a metonymy that refers to
spilling of blood. It develops a link between life and blood. The loss of too much blood means loss of
life. Ode Ode is a literary technique that is lyrical in nature, but not very lengthy. You have often read
odes in which poets praise people, natural scenes, and abstract ideas. Example 1: Ode to the West
Wind by Percy Bysshe Shelley Scatter, as from an unextinguish d hearth Ashes and sparks, my words
among mankind! Be through my lips to unawaken d earth The trumpet of a prophecy! O Wind, If
Winter comes, can Spring be far behind? This presents an example of irregular ode that employs
neither three parts, nor four line stanzas like a Horatian ode. Nevertheless, each stanza of ode is
distinct from the other stanzas in rhyme scheme, pattern and length. Example 2: Ode to the

What Is My Favorite Sport Essay
Despite what other has to say soccer is one of my favorite sports. Here is a game played by two teams
of 11, each trying to pit their wits and skill against the other in an attempt to win the match. The game
lasts for 90 minutes in two halves of 45 minutes each. The reason for this is so that each team plays in
both directions so that no team has an unfair advantage with slope or wind which could affect the
game.
In the first place Soccer is my favorite one because is the only sport where size really doesn t matter. I
m a 5 0 and I still get the chance to play it with no problem. I was introduced to the delights of a

playing against another team just for fun and I have a new trick causes everyone to get excited and it

Social Bonding Theory
This paper is going to highlight the social bonding theory. Control theorist Travis Hirsch i s believes
the cause of delinquency is based on the idea that people have innate desire to commit crime (
Griswold, and , Roberts, Wiatrowski 1981) .basically no matter how much one prevent crime,
someone is bound to commit crime. According to social bond there are four factors that can determine
rather an individual is going to deviate from societal norm; Attachment, Commitment, Involvement,
and Belief (Grisworld et. al 1981). Example of the social bonds Attachment family, commitment
school councils and the goals to pursue higher education. Involvement dance, afterschool programs,
and camps the involvement in different activities to keep busy. Belief Religiosity, active in church
groups, attends church frequently (Grisworld et. al 1981). Critiques The objective is to critique the
short comings of Social bonding theory. Also illustrate additional factor that explain why an individual
is likely to commit crime. Also highlight preventive measures why individual is less likely to commit
crime or violate the norms. The problem that lies with the social bond theory that it does not apply to
all races. The studies only focuses males whereas should include analysis female as well (Heimer
Matsueda 1987).because males are not the only one that commits crime. This theory does not have
preventive measures to prevent crime from occurring. This theory does not highlight the

Charges of corruption may be alleged, and could be either real or imaginary. Consequently, an
organization s best defense against fraud is to be proactive, including gaining an understanding of how
to identify potential indicators of corruptive behavior by managers. It is important that the
organization take action as quickly as possible to prevent corruption. Further, examination of common
indicators of potential corruption, and abuse is beneficial in the identification of potential information
technology fraudulent activities.
Identified Types of Fraudulent Activity
At almost any stage, there is potential for fraudulent activity in the IT procurement process. These
activities may include a range of activities on the part of the fraudulent manager. As reported by the
ACFE (2010), these fraudulent activities on the part of procurement managers include a variety of
actions. Accordingly, some identified types of fraudulent activities reported in the 2010 study included
categories such as: selecting those information technology projects that result in a higher return value,
with specifications tailored in a manner that limited competition or favored a particular bidder, and
abuse by the IT managers of confidentiality. Moreover, other potential fraudulent activity might

French Resistance
When France surrendered to Germany on 22 Jun 1940, those who resented Germany occupation and
the Vichy government formed cells that collectively were named the French Resistance. Some groups
were violent in nature, aiming to hurt or kill the German occupiers; these were called maquis. Other
groups used non violent means, publishing underground newspapers and broadcasted anti German and
anti Vichy radio programs. Many of these groups were born after the 18 Jun 1940 address by Charles
de Gaulle who encouraged the French people to continue the fight against the German forces even if
the nation surrendered. To take advantage of these groups, the British Special Operations Executive
(SOE) began infiltrating into France beginning in May 1941 to aid ... Show more content on

Giraud and Charles de Gaulle became joint presidents of the CNR after the death of Moulin, but by

commanders, with him in London, it was possible for the Allied command to pass orders for the
resistance fighters to attack key communications and transportation targets to aid the planned
Operation Overlord. 93 small teams of three agents (one American, one British, and one French) were
then sent into France to closely coordinate actions immediately before the invasion. The resistance
fighters continued to aid Allied invasion efforts after the forces had made footing on continental
Europe, in northern France aiding the troops marching toward Paris, and in southern France during
Operation Dragoon. Groups in Paris, supported by the Paris policemen, began their fiercest resistance

execution. The fighting climaxed on 22 Aug. 1,500 resistance fighters and civilians lost their lives

Giant pandas are among the rarest mammals in the world. There are probably less than 1,000 left in
the wild. Although adult giant pandas have few natural enemies, the young are sometimes preyed upon
by leopards. Habitat encroachment and destruction are the greatest threats to the continued existence
of the giant panda. This is mainly because of the demand for land and natural resources by China s 1
billion inhabitants. To offset this situation, the Chinese government has set aside 11 nature preserves
where bamboo flourishes and giant pandas are known to live.
Giant pandas are being poached, because their dense fur carries a high price in illegal markets in the
Far East. The Chinese government has imposed life sentences for those convicted of poaching giant
pandas. The low reproductive capacity of the giant panda makes it more vulnerable to these threats,
and less capable of rebounding from its low numbers. In 1984, due to its decreasing numbers, the U.S.
Fish and Wildlife Service listed the giant panda as an endangered species under the Endangered
Species Act. This means it is considered in danger of extinction throughout all of its range.
This protection also prohibits giant pandas from being imported into the U.S. except under certain
conditions. What you can do to help: Join WWF (World Wildlife Foundation) and help

Parable of the Sadhu Essay
Parable of the Sadhu: Analysis from three general approaches.
The Parable of the Sadhu presents a complex situation which action immediate action was necessary.
Sadhu, an Indian holy man, was discovered naked and barely alive by a group of multicultural
mountaineers during their journey. Each ethnic group did a little to help the Sadhu, but none assumed
full responsibility. Their priority was in climbing the mountain rather than carrying Sadhu to the
village where other people could help him. Although the conditions of the trip were so that once the
mountaineers went down to the village they might not have been able to come back up, the author of

They focus on cultivating certain characteristics and look at every situation in terms of its potential
influence on the morale of the person (Donaldson 10). This method, although much more helpful than
utilitarianism, still produces an unclear response. On one hand, kindness and compassion are both
virtues that would be cultivated if the mountaineers decided to help the Sadhu and carry him to the
village. On the other hand, if mountaineers continue their journey virtues such as courage and
determination would flourish. It is difficult to decide which virtues are more important than others and
therefore, this method is too ambiguous to be applied to this situation.
Finally, there is deontology, also called non consequentialism. Deontology, in general, focuses on the
motives of the act and the concept of duty (Camenisch 2). Kantian deontology assesses that there is a
Categorical Imperative the highest moral principle that should govern all human actions. This
universal law is stated in two ways:
1) act in a way that one would act with anyone in the same situation, and so that one does not create an
undesirable world and 2) interact with people as human beings with rights and dignity rather than
means to an end (Camenisch 2). This moral principle would be the most fair and useful in the Sadhu
situation. McCoy s friend mentions in the essay that the mountaineers would have probably acted
differently if the Sadhu were a member of

unemployment, poverty, shortages, which people as a rule dislike is the result of direct design by some
powerful individuals and groups (Popper). Conspiracy theories come in all shapes and sizes, from all

Differences Between Iranian Revolution And English Civil War
Investigation
Although occurring at very different times throughout history, looking back today the Iranian
Revolution and English Civil War were very much alike. Both revolutions had a lot to do with the
leaders of the time and both immediately resulted in turmoil. The Iranian revolution and English Civil
war had similar causes however the English Civil War was more successful in ensuring lasting
democracy.
Firstly, Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi was the extremely isolated leader of Iran who was extremely
concerned, by any means necessary, with consolidating his power. Not only did the Shah completely
remove himself from the suffering society and ignore the injustice surrounding him but he ruled with
absolute power meaning that everyone else had little say in government, if any at all. The Shah also
created a force known as the SAVAK, and it was largely and widely feared by those who opposed the
regime as it was known for extreme surveillance, torture and even execution. Mohammed Reza Shah
completely overlooked the fact that up to 70%of Iran s population of 20 million was living in poverty
without basic liberties and at the mercy of their landlords. This evidence proves that the needs of the
Iranian people were not being met which in many cases, like the case of the English Civil War sets the
stage for revolution. Charles Stuart I, was a leader who also ruled by divine right with the belief that
he was superior to everyone, including parliament whom he, due to this

Introduction Before understanding the research to be conducted, one must understand the who, what,
when, and why of the issue. Many people know and understand that with a better education they will

According to Bureau of Justice Statistics (2012), Recidivism is measured by criminal acts that resulted
in the rearrests, reconviction, or return to prison with or without a new sentence during a three year
period following the prisoner s release (Recidivism, par. 1).
If the hypothesis is confirmed the theory will suggest that the lower the education level of an
individual, the more apt that individual is to having a hard time finding work. If an individual, who
has been to prison or jail, gets released into society with a low education level they will have a hard
time finding a job. If this individual cannot find a job they will most likely turn to crime to get money
to support themselves or their families, thus proving that the lower the education rate the higher the
recidivism rate is.
If the hypothesis is not confirmed it will suggest that there is no connection between education levels
and recidivism rates back into jail or prison. If not proved the hypothesis will also show that
individuals released back into society turn back to crime for other reasons and not anything to do with
their education levels, thus proving that education levels have no effect on recidivism rates.
Background/Literature review Recidivism is the result of a former prisoner relapsing into criminal
activity and returning to prison for a new offense. It is estimated that approximately two thirds of

How Did Technology Affect The Development Of The Vietnam War
Technological advancements have played a crucial role in prospering a country s economic and social
standing. Looking at it from a resourceful perspective, a country heading into war puts a strain on the
nation s resources due to the high demand of goods. Generally speaking, wars do, however, accelerate
the technological development of a nation in order to adapt to the needs of the military. Prior to the
start of the Vietnam war which began in 1955 1975 technological equipment such as the helicopter,
airpower, infantry weapons, booby traps, and anti aircraft were not around. Only until the start of the
war, we began to see an advancement in equipment. These improvements have altered the lives of
citizens both on a large and a small scale.
The Vietnam war was a lengthy war that lasted for approximately 20 years. The war was between
northern and southern Vietnam against communist beliefs. Northern Vietnam was pro communism and
so were its allies Viet Cong. Southern Vietnam was anti communist and was allied with the United
States. The war began in 1954 following the upcoming of Ho Chi Minh and his communist Viet Minh
party in North Vietnam. The reason for the U.S involvement in the war was due to the fear of the
domino effect where one country falls to communism and the surrounding countries follow. Prior the
to the Vietnamese war, the world s two superpowers (the United States and the Soviet Union) were
involved in the cold war. The cold war was more or a less a state of

The Debate Over The Death Penalty
The use of Capital Punishment has always been an issue for which the states must determine the
proper use and implementation. Like the other thirty two states that practice the death penalty, Idaho
has its own unique statutes regarding the death penalty, but also like all other states, the statute is
constantly under scrutiny through the appeals process death row inmates take part in. Through looking
at their current statutes, one can understand this complicated and high profile punishment. It seems
that with each person who is executed, a new part of the law is highlighted which may be unfair. The
appeals process is lengthy, and because of this, it tends to be an incredibly costly sentence to carry out.
With an age in which the media ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only crimes, which are eligible for Capital Punishment, are murder in the first degree, kidnapping
in the first degree, and perjury, which results in the death of an innocent person. This statute was
changed in 1973 as a result of the Furman decision to make the death penalty mandatory for a
conviction of murder in the first degree to make jury sentencing unnecessary (Office of Performance
Evaluations, 2014).
According to Idaho Statute 19 2515, Sentencing in Capital Cases outlines the mens rea, which is
necessary to seek the death penalty. It states the jury or judge must find that one of the listed
aggravating circumstances must be found present for a person to be sentenced to the death penalty: A
previous conviction for murder; knowingly committing two murders at the same time; knowingly
placing many people at great risk of death; a murder committed for money; an especially heinous,
atrocious or cruel murder; a murder which exhibits a disregard for human life, murder in conjunction
with attempted/executed arson, rape, robbery, burglary, or kidnapping; murder committed during the
commission of a crime against nature (i.e. sexual abuse of a child under sixteen); actions which would
indicate a continued threat to society; a murder in which the victim was a law enforcement officer or
officer of the court; or a murder in which the victim was the witness of a crime. As with the finding of
guilt, a jury must unanimously find one

Roundup Ready Soybeans
Monsanto s Roundup Ready Soybean (RRS) is a genetically engineered variety of soybeans, which
contains gene sequences from a cauliflower mosaic virus (CMV), a petunia, and a bacterium
(Agrobacterium sp.) (Greenpeace, 1997). The two bacterial genes, in short, provide for resistance
against Roundup, resulting in a crop of soybeans that can be sprayed with Roundup to protect it from
weeds, while not injuring it. In 1996, U.S. farmers harvested about 1.2 million acres of Roundup
Ready Soybeans, and although this crop represented only about 2 percent of U.S. soybeans, it will be
mixed with conventional soybeans unlabeled to become part of as much as 60 percent of all processed
foods that contain some soy based ingredient (Bruno, 1997). In the United States, most consumers are
likely to have already ingested small amounts of transgenic soy in such common food as margarine,

Inner Conflict In Hamlet
Through the multitude of analyses of Hamlet that have occurred since Shakespeare debuted the play in
1783, multiple stances can be made from the plot and dialogue within. For instance, in Act Three
Scene Three a religious reading can be made. The scene depicts two major inner conflicts that occur in
both Claudius and Hamlet through the use of dueling soliloquies.
To start, Claudius is battling with his inner guilt and attempting to ask for forgiveness for his sins, but
he refuses to give up the prizes he obtained by sinning. This conflict is seen when Claudius says,
...since I am still possessed/ of those effects for which I did the murder: My crown, mine own
ambition, and my queen. May one be pardoned and retain th offense (Act e. Scene 3. Lines 57 60). He
was given the crown and Gertrude by killing King Hamlet, which causes him to battle with staying on
the strict moral code that his religion set for him, since he has found being king to be wonderful. He
enjoys having power, and he does not want to lose that power no matter what the Bible has laid out for
him and how he s supposed to act. However, despite his clear yearn for power, he is seen asking for
forgiveness. This can most easily be noted in line 40 when he says, O, my offense is rank, it smells to
Heaven and line 56 of the scene when Claudius says, Forgive me my foul murder , since it proves that
Claudius is aware that he sinned and must now ask for forgiveness. The act of asking for forgiveness

How Does Ed Byrne Create Humour
Ed Byrne, an Irish stand up comedian, uses various conscious techniques in order to create humour.
When performing, he tends to talk at a fast pace, uses body language and occasionally uses profanity.
In this essay, I will compare both comedian and writer, in how Ed Byrne creates humour and if it
reflects how Sarah Thorne describes how humour is produced in her chapter titled The Language of
Humour (Thorne 2008).
Ed Byrne predominantly discusses everyday life such as, becoming a father, relationships and
ordinary things such as attending the doctor s. Thorne states, humour is based on every day
observations , comedians make witticisms the audience can relate too, they have an understanding as
to where they re coming from and can identify truth in the exaggerated version of these events Thorne
2008:502). Ed Byrne uses this method in virtually all of his shows as it forms a connection with the
audience as they are seen as equal to one another. Author, Alison Ross states that laughter comes from
the enjoyment in shared human experience. (Ross 1998:106).

The joke is humorous as tin foil and aluminium foil are two different things, therefore the joke is on
Ed Byrne. An English audience would recognise the term tin foil . Sarah Thorne says humour can
become anti social , meaning the audience are left feeling shocked rather than amused. (Thorne 2008:
508). If the geographical identity of the audience were American, the joke would not work as it s
discourteous to suggest everyone dislikes Americans. The rhetorical question combined with
profanity, the pause and then the incongruity signalling the end of the joke, all enhance the delivery.
According to a lecture, part of module 100DEL, the context of the joke defines the audience, shifting
our interpretations of how a joke is understood (Cribb 2015). This means a comedian has to consider
the audience whilst developing their

Media Representation In America
In my artistic work, I decided to pursue and address an issue that stands out to me because of its lack
of media representation in America during an era where media is more obtainable than ever. The
Israeli Palestinian conflict is rarely reported in mainstream media in the United States. Instead, topics
such as celebrity gossip dominate headlines and it s tragic to me; the Kardashians are mentioned more
in the news than West Bank or Gaza combined. The people in Palestine have no voice in America and
yet America is the perpetrator of their injustice. How can we, as Americans, face our own mistakes if
we aren t even aware that we re making them? We boast that all men are created equal when we tell
Palestinians everyday that Israelis deserve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People rely on their news sources as their gateway to the rest of the world and when these gateways
are compromised by the government, the people of those countries lose their ability to fight injustice.
In my illustration, the two individuals are blindfolded to demonstrate the national blindness in present
day America. Our cluelessness of what happens beyond our country is a direct result of our
government s choke hold on the press; America is known as a country of freedom and yet we are often
isolated from the knowledge we deserve to know illustrated by the use of the umbrella above the table.
The pillar connecting the barbed wire fence surrounding Gaza has the American colors because the
United States government has an incriminating role in what has been happening in Palestine, but it is
so far removed beyond the picturesque Hollywood Hills that not many people know about it. Within
the barricaded fence, a bomb is titled the truth , because the truth of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is
that devastation has been tearing Gaza apart. The bomb is colossal in proportion to its own fencing to
exemplify how large that devastation is. I hope that upon my audience seeing my art, they will grow
intrigued and actively seek out the truth about the government s role in the Middle East. Inspirations
for my piece come from a recent flux of political cartoons in response to Trump s election. I was
amazed at how cartoons, which can be so incredibly simple, can convey such intense and important
messages to its audience by the uses of symbolism, irony, and exaggeration. To sum up, this art piece
asks for Americans to dare and pull off the blindfold. It dares people to question what is written in the
media, and whether or not what is written truly matters in the grand scheme of world events.
Knowledge is the first step in the process of justice, and the Palestinians deserve

Beethoven Biography Essay
Many questions go around about what day Ludwig Van Beethoven was born. Most do not know and
most likely will not ever know. They say that he was born a day or two before he was baptized on
December 17th, 1770. That was the beginning of one of the greatest musicians alive. Ludwig had two
younger brothers that had survived into adulthood. One was named Casper and the other was named
after their father Johann. His mother was a woman who stuck to her morals and his father was a man
who was a court singer, but he was more known for being an alcoholic than a musician. This is one of
the reasons Beethoven was closer with his mother rather than his father. Also, Beethoven s grandfather
was a well known musician which was a source of endless pride ... Show more content on

His father, Johann, taught him how to play instruments day in and day out. When March 28th 1778
rolled around, Beethoven performed for the first time in front of a crowd in Cologne. At that time
Beethoven was seven and a half years old, but his father said he was six years old. This always made
Beethoven think he was younger than he actually was. Beethoven s father could only teach him so
much, though, so he went to go be taught by a professional musician named Gottlob Neefe. Neefe
noticed how talented Beethoven was, so he decided to not only teach him about music but about the
works of philosophers as well. As Beethoven grew, he created pieces of music that became very
popular. His first piece, published before the age of twelve, was Nine Variations of C Minor. After that
piece came out, his teacher wrote in a magazine article about him saying he s to be, The next Mozart if
he keeps his work up. Prince Maximillian Franz, who was the prince of Austria at the time, knew
about Beethoven s music and decided to send him to Vienna to go meet Mozart in 1787 so he could
further his music education. When Beethoven and Mozart met, Mozart was said to have spoken, Do

Summary Of Gabriel Garcia Márquez s Of Love And Other Demons
Throughout history, society has often fought over the ideologies that govern and influence our lives

which the novel takes place in. Of Love and Other Demons, takes place in a South American country

place in the courtyard of the slaves (Márquez 12). She herself identified more closely with the African

that she would not fit well into the noble, white culture when her father demanded that she come live

The Effect Of Gibberellins On Seeds Germination Of Seed...
Abstract
Faster and uniform germination of seed as well as establishment of vigourous crop is of paramount
importance in direct seeded rice crop, which in turn depends on seed germination and vigour per se.
Rice being an albuminous seed, it is hypothesized that galactomannan hydrolysing enzymes (viz., β
mannanase, β mannosidase and α galactosidase) play important role in loosening of the embryo
surrounding tissue viz., endosperm, which in turn governs the speed of germination. The study was an
assessment of this hypothesis, on ten rice genotypes comprising of five early germinating (which have
taken less than 30 hours for radicle emergence) and five late germinating (which have taken more than
44 hours for radicle emergence) genotypes. The effect of gibberellins (GA) and Abscisic acid (ABA)
on enzyme activity was also subsequently evaluated. The activities of β mannanase, β mannosidase
and α galactosidase were present in dry and germinating rice seeds and increased during germination.
GA could promote the activities of all the three enzymes that reduced the time taken by the
germinating seed to reach the stage of lemma rupture and radicle emergence. On the other hand, ABA
had an antagonistic effect on the activities of these enzymes and enhanced the time taken by the
germinating seed to reach the stage of radicle emergence. However, no changes were observed with
respect to time taken for lemma rupture, which corroborate that lemma rupture could be due to
expansion of

Write About the Ways the Difficulties of Love Are Explored...
Charlotte Bronte s novel, Jane Eyre and William Shakespeare s play, Much Ado about Nothing , both
focus on the themes of love; Jane Eyre was written in 1851, the Victorian era whereas Much Ado
about Nothing was written in 1599, the Elizabethan era. Although there may be over hundreds of years
between them, both texts exhibit the ways the difficulties of love can be explored. Both texts imply
that there will be difficulties as the relationships are established. Charlotte Bronte presents a

In mine eye, she is the sweetest lady ever I looked on. Again this really highlights the attraction
Claudio has for Hero is purely the result of, first, physical beauty and, second, the desire to marry a
noble and virtuous woman. While Claudio can t be faulted for desiring such qualities in a wife, it is
telling that he is ready to marry her after only this first meeting and that he goes to Leonato, not Hero
herself, to purpose marriage. This makes the audience doubt the relationship between Claudio and
Hero as it s based only on attraction. Similarly between both texts they both introduce antagonistic
characters that pose problems and difficulties to the development of the relationships. Charlotte
Bronte develops Jane and Mr Rochester s relationship slowly, which may make readers doubt the
relationship, foreshadowing the trouble ahead. Bronte uses the technique of pathetic fallacy to
highlight trouble unravelling further on in the novel. The great horse chestnut at the bottom of the
orchard had been struck by lightning in the night, and half of it split away . This quote ends the
chapter of Jane and Mr Rochester s proposal. Bronte used nature several times in the novel to

Rochester s proposal, a bolt of lightning strikes the chestnut tree causing it to split in half, representing
the trouble that lies ahead

Fracking Research Paper
Shale gas is a remarkable deposit of natural gas that is largely untapped because of the difficulty in
obtaining it. Advanced petroleum extraction technics has made this untapped natural gas more

it. This paper discusses the impact of fracking, the challenges of wastewater management, with a focus
on the legal and regulatory hurdles associated with the practice of underground injection of

wastewater. Massive water withdrawals from rivers and streams occur to achieve this process, thus
resulting in a major ecological impact; stream/river stress . Another ecological hazard is habitat

these toxic emissions to air, water and soil also affect the ecological domain. Potent greenhouse gas

On the other hand, if mountaineers continue their journey virtues such as courage and determination would flourish. Differences Between Iranian Revolution And English Civil War Investigation Although occurring at very different times throughout history, looking back today the Iranian Revolution and English Civil War were very much alike. Both revolutions had a lot to do with the leaders of the time and both immediately resulted in turmoil. The Iranian revolution and English Civil war had similar causes however the English Civil War was more successful in ensuring lasting democracy. Firstly, Mohammed Reza Shah Pahlavi was the extremely isolated leader of Iran who was extremely concerned, by any means necessary, with consolidating his power. Not only did the Shah completely remove himself from the suffering society and ignore the injustice surrounding him but he ruled with absolute power meaning that everyone else had little say in government, if any at all. The Shah also created a force known as the SAVAK, and it was largely and widely feared by those who opposed the regime as it was known for extreme surveillance, torture and even execution. Mohammed Reza Shah completely overlooked the fact that up to 70%of Iran s population of 20 million was living in poverty without basic liberties and at the mercy of their landlords. This evidence proves that the needs of the Iranian people were not being met which in many cases, like the case of the English Civil War sets the stage for revolution. According to Bureau of Justice Statistics (2012), Recidivism is measured by criminal acts that resulted in the rearrests, reconviction, or return to prison with or without a new sentence during a three year period following the prisoner s release (Recidivism, par. 1). If the hypothesis is confirmed the theory will suggest that the lower the education level of an individual, the more apt that individual is to having a hard time finding work. If an individual, who has been to prison or jail, gets released into society with a low education level they will have a hard time finding a job. If this individual cannot find a job they will most likely turn to crime to get money to support themselves or their families, thus proving that the lower the education rate the higher the recidivism rate is. If the hypothesis is not confirmed it will suggest that there is no connection between education levels and recidivism rates back into jail or prison. If not proved the hypothesis will also show that individuals released back into society turn back to crime for other reasons and not anything to do with their education levels, thus proving that education levels have no effect on recidivism rates. Inner Conflict In Hamlet Through the multitude of analyses of Hamlet that have occurred since Shakespeare debuted the play in 1783, multiple stances can be made from the plot and dialogue within. For instance, in Act Three Scene Three a religious reading can be made. The scene depicts two major inner conflicts that occur in both Claudius and Hamlet through the use of dueling soliloquies. To start, Claudius is battling with his inner guilt and attempting to ask for forgiveness for his sins, but he refuses to give up the prizes he obtained by sinning. This conflict is seen when Claudius says, ...since I am still possessed/ of those effects for which I did the murder: My crown, mine own ambition, and my queen. May one be pardoned and retain th offense (Act e. Scene 3. Lines 57 60). He was given the crown and Gertrude by killing King Hamlet, which causes him to battle with staying on the strict moral code that his religion set for him, since he has found being king to be wonderful. He enjoys having power, and he does not want to lose that power no matter what the Bible has laid out for him and how he s supposed to act. However, despite his clear yearn for power, he is seen asking for forgiveness. This can most easily be noted in line 40 when he says, O, my offense is rank, it smells to Heaven and line 56 of the scene when Claudius says, Forgive me my foul murder , since it proves that Claudius is aware that he sinned and must now ask for forgiveness. The act of asking for forgiveness despite not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. How Does Ed Byrne Create Humour Ed Byrne, an Irish stand up comedian, uses various conscious techniques in order to create humour. When performing, he tends to talk at a fast pace, uses body language and occasionally uses profanity. In this essay, I will compare both comedian and writer, in how Ed Byrne creates humour and if it reflects how Sarah Thorne describes how humour is produced in her chapter titled The Language of Humour (Thorne 2008). Ed Byrne predominantly discusses everyday life such as, becoming a father, relationships and ordinary things such as attending the doctor s. Thorne states, humour is based on every day observations , comedians make witticisms the audience can relate too, they have an understanding as to where they re coming from and can identify truth in the exaggerated version of these events Thorne 2008:502). Ed Byrne uses this method in virtually all of his shows as it forms a connection with the audience as they are seen as equal to one another. Author, Alison Ross states that laughter comes from the enjoyment in shared human experience. (Ross 1998:106). Everyone s got their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The joke is humorous as tin foil and aluminium foil are two different things, therefore the joke is on Ed Byrne. An English audience would recognise the term tin foil . Sarah Thorne says humour can become anti social , meaning the audience are left feeling shocked rather than amused. (Thorne 2008: 508). If the geographical identity of the audience were American, the joke would not work as it s discourteous to suggest everyone dislikes Americans. The rhetorical question combined with profanity, the pause and then the incongruity signalling the end of the joke, all enhance the delivery. According to a lecture, part of module 100DEL, the context of the joke defines the audience, shifting our interpretations of how a joke is understood (Cribb 2015). This means a comedian has to consider the audience whilst developing their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Media Representation In America In my artistic work, I decided to pursue and address an issue that stands out to me because of its lack of media representation in America during an era where media is more obtainable than ever. The Israeli Palestinian conflict is rarely reported in mainstream media in the United States. Instead, topics such as celebrity gossip dominate headlines and it s tragic to me; the Kardashians are mentioned more in the news than West Bank or Gaza combined. The people in Palestine have no voice in America and yet America is the perpetrator of their injustice. How can we, as Americans, face our own mistakes if we aren t even aware that we re making them? We boast that all men are created equal when we tell Palestinians everyday that Israelis deserve ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People rely on their news sources as their gateway to the rest of the world and when these gateways are compromised by the government, the people of those countries lose their ability to fight injustice. In my illustration, the two individuals are blindfolded to demonstrate the national blindness in present day America. Our cluelessness of what happens beyond our country is a direct result of our government s choke hold on the press; America is known as a country of freedom and yet we are often isolated from the knowledge we deserve to know illustrated by the use of the umbrella above the table. The pillar connecting the barbed wire fence surrounding Gaza has the American colors because the United States government has an incriminating role in what has been happening in Palestine, but it is so far removed beyond the picturesque Hollywood Hills that not many people know about it. Within the barricaded fence, a bomb is titled the truth , because the truth of the Israeli Palestinian conflict is that devastation has been tearing Gaza apart. The bomb is colossal in proportion to its own fencing to exemplify how large that devastation is. I hope that upon my audience seeing my art, they will grow intrigued and actively seek out the truth about the government s role in the Middle East. Inspirations for my piece come from a recent flux of political cartoons in response to Trump s election. I was amazed at how cartoons, which can be so incredibly simple, can convey such intense and important messages to its audience by the uses of symbolism, irony, and exaggeration. To sum up, this art piece asks for Americans to dare and pull off the blindfold. It dares people to question what is written in the media, and whether or not what is written truly matters in the grand scheme of world events. • 29. Beethoven Biography Essay Many questions go around about what day Ludwig Van Beethoven was born. Most do not know and most likely will not ever know. They say that he was born a day or two before he was baptized on December 17th, 1770. That was the beginning of one of the greatest musicians alive. Ludwig had two younger brothers that had survived into adulthood. One was named Casper and the other was named after their father Johann. His mother was a woman who stuck to her morals and his father was a man who was a court singer, but he was more known for being an alcoholic than a musician. This is one of the reasons Beethoven was closer with his mother rather than his father. Also, Beethoven s grandfather was a well known musician which was a source of endless pride ... When March 28th 1778 rolled around, Beethoven performed for the first time in front of a crowd in Cologne. At that time Beethoven was seven and a half years old, but his father said he was six years old. This always made Beethoven think he was younger than he actually was. Beethoven s father could only teach him so much, though, so he went to go be taught by a professional musician named Gottlob Neefe. Neefe noticed how talented Beethoven was, so he decided to not only teach him about music but about the works of philosophers as well. As Beethoven grew, he created pieces of music that became very popular. His first piece, published before the age of twelve, was Nine Variations of C Minor. After that piece came out, his teacher wrote in a magazine article about him saying he s to be, The next Mozart if he keeps his work up. Prince Maximillian Franz, who was the prince of Austria at the time, knew about Beethoven s music and decided to send him to Vienna to go meet Mozart in 1787 so he could further his music education. Conflict happens when beliefs and principles are challenged which leads to the brutality many innocent people end up enduring. • 31. The Effect Of Gibberellins On Seeds Germination Of Seed... Abstract Faster and uniform germination of seed as well as establishment of vigourous crop is of paramount importance in direct seeded rice crop, which in turn depends on seed germination and vigour per se. Rice being an albuminous seed, it is hypothesized that galactomannan hydrolysing enzymes (viz., β mannanase, β mannosidase and α galactosidase) play important role in loosening of the embryo surrounding tissue viz., endosperm, which in turn governs the speed of germination. The study was an assessment of this hypothesis, on ten rice genotypes comprising of five early germinating (which have taken less than 30 hours for radicle emergence) and five late germinating (which have taken more than 44 hours for radicle emergence) genotypes. The effect of gibberellins (GA) and Abscisic acid (ABA) on enzyme activity was also subsequently evaluated. The activities of β mannanase, β mannosidase and α galactosidase were present in dry and germinating rice seeds and increased during germination. GA could promote the activities of all the three enzymes that reduced the time taken by the germinating seed to reach the stage of lemma rupture and radicle emergence. On the other hand, ABA had an antagonistic effect on the activities of these enzymes and enhanced the time taken by the germinating seed to reach the stage of radicle emergence. However, no changes were observed with respect to time taken for lemma rupture, which corroborate that lemma rupture could be due to expansion of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Write About the Ways the Difficulties of Love Are Explored... Charlotte Bronte s novel, Jane Eyre and William Shakespeare s play, Much Ado about Nothing , both focus on the themes of love; Jane Eyre was written in 1851, the Victorian era whereas Much Ado about Nothing was written in 1599, the Elizabethan era. Although there may be over hundreds of years between them, both texts exhibit the ways the difficulties of love can be explored. Both texts imply that there will be difficulties as the relationships are established. Charlotte Bronte presents a flourishing relationship between Jane and Mr Rochester; this is evident when Mr Rochester says My cherished preserver good night! Strange energy was in his voice. While Claudio can t be faulted for desiring such qualities in a wife, it is telling that he is ready to marry her after only this first meeting and that he goes to Leonato, not Hero herself, to purpose marriage. This makes the audience doubt the relationship between Claudio and Hero as it s based only on attraction. Similarly between both texts they both introduce antagonistic characters that pose problems and difficulties to the development of the relationships. Charlotte Bronte develops Jane and Mr Rochester s relationship slowly, which may make readers doubt the relationship, foreshadowing the trouble ahead. Bronte uses the technique of pathetic fallacy to highlight trouble unravelling further on in the novel. Advanced petroleum extraction technics has made this untapped natural gas more lucrative. Hydraulic fracturing (fracking) is the advanced technic of extracting gas from shale rock formation. The environmental impacts of hydraulic fracturing have surpassed the endurance afforded it. This paper discusses the impact of fracking, the challenges of wastewater management, with a focus on the legal and regulatory hurdles associated with the practice of underground injection of wastewater, and ways in which the government through policies can curb the concerns. They drill sideways through a shale layer that might be only a hundred or a couple hundred feet thick. And once they ve drilled out sideways a mile or two, then they ll pump water, sand, and chemicals underground at very high pressure to crack the rock and free the gas . Fracking fluid is mostly water, and each fracking job takes 2 to 4 million gallons of water per well. Once pumped underground, several million gallons flow back to the surface as wastewater. Massive water withdrawals from rivers and streams occur to achieve this process, thus resulting in a major ecological impact; stream/river stress . Another ecological hazard is habitat fragmentation stemming from the siting of oil well pads, pipelines and supporting infrastructure. Aside these toxic emissions to air, water and soil also affect the ecological domain.
