This paper presents the activities of children in Epilepsy in which a person has repeated or recurrent
seizures over time. In this, the particular person suffers from symptoms such as violent shaking, non controllable
jerky movements of the arms and legs, loss of alertness etc. But in the proposed model, we are using the wearable
sensors which will be worn on the brain and palms to detect the epileptic attacks and the GSM is used so that the
message is send through mobile to their relatives or friends that an attack has occurred. Proper medicines can cure
this disorder so we are going to suggest medicines according to the type of seizure. The readings will be displayed
on flex grid. The sensors include two 3-axis accelerometer sensors, temperature sensor, moisture sensor. This
model will utilize the ARM LPC2138 processor and the programming will be developed in keil3. Software
includes Visual Basics. So we will be doing the monitoring as the seizure will be detected and their parents or
relatives will be knowing about it. We are going to detect generalized tonic clonic seizures, absence seizures.
Keywords — Epilepsy, flex grid, GSM, sensors, types of seizures.

Estimation of Pulse Arrival Time Using Impedance Plethysmogram from Body Comp...CARRE project
Long-term periodic monitoring of cardiovascular function in unobtrusive way has been a challenge in sensor research lately. This work presents the investigation of the method for pulse arrival time (PAT) estimation using body composition scales. It employs the electrocardiogram and the impedance plethysmogram (IPG) which are recorded from palm and plantar electrodes already integrated into body composition scales. Four subjects were involved in the experiment. The IPG was acquired from a single-foot and foot-to-foot and compared to the reference method — photoplethysmography. The range of correlation coefficient obtained in different methods varied from 0.7 to 0.94 showing that small PAT variations can be tracked using the IPG signals. Such results suggest that body composition scales could be supplemented with additional parameter for the assessment of arterial stiffness. This function will make them truly multi-parametric device for periodic health monitoring at home
Journey into Continuous Glucose Monitoring Technology as a ParentAnne Gentle
In this lightning talk, Anne Gentle draws on her experiences as a parent to discuss the current state of kids' wearable devices, stories, and experiences from a parent's perspective. Hear about both open source and proprietary solutions for using and displaying medical data such as continuous glucose monitoring. See how cloud technologies and NoSQL databases provide parents and kids more sleep and dad to make good decisions.
This is a presentation I gave at the TiE Lifesciences & Healthcare event titled "Smart Medical Devices" in April 2010 at Foley Hoag in Waltham. Contains tons of examples and categories of smart devices
Blood Sugar (Glucose) Measurement, Monitoring and Data Analysis: A Review on ...Md Kafiul Islam
The presentation reviews the recent development in non-invasive blood sugar measurement and monitoring techniques, their pros and cons, comparative analysis and the key challenges in implementing such technique in continuous and regular health monitoring for wearable biomedical device technology

These slides use concepts from my (Jeff Funk) course entitled Biz Models for Hi-Tech Products to analyze the business model for Infra V’s Smart Watch. This watch can continuously monitor glucose using a non-invasive spectrometric process, which enables better management of diabetes through more timely insulin injections. The watch replaces the widely used finger-pricking method that is painful for users and thus discourages effective monitoring of a patient’s glucose levels. The watch is also smaller and cheaper than other methods of continuous monitoring. These slides describe the specific value proposition for patients and doctors other aspects of the business model such as the method of value capture, scope of activities, and method of strategic control.
Biosensor is the Talk of The Day. It made possible, the conversion of yesteryear's cumbersome experiments to an easier, faster all the while improving its sensitivity and specificity. This article will help you to gain an acquaintance about it, its properties, etc.
