Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

2. Este Málaga, cada día más, se está convirtiendo en un peso pesado del balompié Europeo.
Pellegrini está consiguiendo que sus jugadores tengan, ya no solo juego, que lo tiene de sobra, sino que les está otorgando una fe en lo que hacen y una fortaleza mental que lo
hace un equipo capaz de batir a cualquier rival, sabiéndose sobreponer a adversidades que puedan surgir. El encuentro disputado en el Nou Camp fue épico para los del
chileno y, a pesar de un inicio frio, aunó muchos detalles, momentos de buen juego culé, sobre todo en el inicio de partido, una gran batalla mental de la que salió vencedor el
Málaga sobre el Barça (Iturra sobre Thiago) y una magistral lección del Ingeniero sobre como, ya no parar, sino superar a este Barça plagado de talento. En la ida de esta
eliminatoria, más allá de las bajas de uno y otro equipo, el equipo de la costa del sol hizo, en mi opinión, 70 min en los que los de Pellegrini tuvieron una lectura perfecta de
todas las fases del juego y sus momentos, siendo superior al equipo blaugrana.
Lo más relevante es que fue superior a su rival partiendo de una gran defensa, pero no una defensa a ultranza en el área propia y encomendándote a tener alguna contra para
hacer daño al Barça, no, todo lo contrario, partiendo desde su 1-4-4-2, siendo siempre un bloque solido capaz de entender que había que hacer en cada momento sin
balón, defendiendo cada zona según el juego lo iba demandando, defendiendo muy arriba cuando era necesario, juntándose en zona media rápidamente cuando el Barça
solventaba la presión o, si era necesario, juntarse en torno a su frontal del área, realizando en todas las zonas un gran trabajo, sobre todo por dentro, evitando cualquier tipo de
relación interior, destacando el Bestial partido de Iturra, siempre bien secundado por Camacho, y el de Sergio Sánchez, mariscal de la defensa y actuando entre líneas siempre
saliendo victorioso de los lances.
Más allá de cualquier actuación defensiva excelsa, como fueron los casos ya mencionados de Iturra y S. Sánchez, el trabajo sin balón y tras pérdidas del Málaga tuvo algo que
es fundamental para conseguir frenar a todo un Barça, la solidaridad e implicación de TODOS los jugadores.
Aquí llegamos al punto mental; sin ir más lejos, ante el Celta, en Liga 3 días después y en su feudo, el Málaga no tuvo en todos los momentos del juego, esa fortaleza mental y
trabajo que si consiguió en Copa. Ejemplo, transiciones defensivas ante el Celta eran seguidas por la línea de 4 defensas + los 2 MC, quedando el resto, 3+1 muy descolgados
y alejados de la jugada, lógicamente, no es lo mismo jugar ante el Celta que ante el Barça, y seguro que en la vuelta de Copa, volveremos a ver la versión más “seria” y
solidaria del Málaga. De no ser así el Málaga sufrirá.
Ayudó en la ida el bajón mental del Barça, liderado por Thiago, totalmente fuera desde el 0-1, y por Alexis, que a los 5 ya había fallado una clara ocasión bajo palos totalmente
solo, esto, poco a poco, fue arrastrando al resto, que, sin poder hacer nada para contrarrestarlo, veían como el Málaga, incluso con 10 jugadores, no daba opción atrás, y a su
vez, llegaba con peligro al portal de Pinto. Los cambios de Xavi, Cesc y Pedro no insuflaron frescura al equipo culé en su juego de ataque, y, lentamente el encuentro se veía
abocado a un 2-1 que daba una ligera ventaja al Barça. Pero este Málaga del Ingeniero tenia claro que la recompensa le podría llegar, creyeron en ello y al final, el futbol paga
sus deudas y es bueno con Camacho, dándole al Málaga la pequeña superioridad que le ofrece el 2-2 .
Un dato para entender mejor el crecimiento en la fortaleza mental del equipo Malagueño es ver los 2 primeros partidos de ésta triada Málaga-Barça, en Liga, ante un partido
igualado, un error de Camacho brinda a Messi el 0-1 y , ahí, en ese instante, se acaba el partido. Sin embargo en la ida de Copa, a los 3 minutos de ponerse 0-1 se vuelve a ver
por debajo en el marcador 2-1, en un arreón culé y un par de fallos defensivos (Weligton), y en esos momentos, en vez de venirse abajo y tirar por la borda la
eliminatoria, hicieron todo lo contrario que vimos en Liga, se vinieron arriba y sacaron su mejor versión, teniendo calma con balón cuando lo podían tener, no exponiendo
demasiado o dando facilidades en salida culé ante pérdidas, no dejando que el Barça recuperase balones en su primera presión tras perder la posesión, saliendo a la contra y
llegando en segundas oleadas, captando multitud de rechaces y segundas jugadas y, por supuesto, con una defensa extraordinaria sobre los espacios.
Están creciendo y este partido de vuelta es una nueva revalida para este equipo que está en Octavos de Champions, muy vivo en Copa después de 90 minutos en el Nou
Camp y que en Liga sigue de cerca la estela de la Champios. Vuelta de una eliminatoria en la que el Barçá debe ganar o empatar a 3 para pasar ante esta obra de ingeniería
que es el Málaga, un duelo de estilos que será sin dudas apasionante y que nos dejará una noche con grandes momentos y detalles de talento de pies de los que mandarán y
decidirán la sentencia del pase a la siguiente ronda, los Isco, Xavi, Messi, Joaquin y toda esa gama de genios del balón que se reunirán bajo la noche estrellada de la Rosaleda
!!Preparémonos, se viene una noche para soñar!!
3. DEFENSA ORGANIZADA
Pienso que el Málaga intentará repetir algo muy similar a lo que ocurrió en el partido de ida, sobre todo en su segunda mitad, apretará de
inicio en la salida culé y así intentar evitar que la salida de balón tenga limpieza y criterio. Que jueguen Piqué y Busi es un cambio radical
comparado con Mascherano y Song, la salida limpia de Piqué y la orientación rápida que le otorga al juego Busquets se pueden hacer
claves para el devenir de la eliminatoria.
Evitar que Messi o Iniesta puedan recibir entre líneas es una dura tarea, pero si siguen la senda ya abierta y mantienen esa tensión
durante el partido, harán que a estos les sea muy difícil participar, o, como mal menor, hacer que su participación sea intermitente.
Saben perfectamente de la calidad y talento que atesoran los jugadores del Barça, del primero al último, y saben que en cualquier
destello, son capaces de poner la eliminatoria de cara para el equipo de Tito.
Trataran de creer y pensar que los 90 minutos son muy largos y que esta eliminatoria, aun, puede tener varias idas y vueltas dentro de un
solo duelo.
4. Defensa de construcción , primeros 20 minutos del partido de Ida de Copa del Rey.
Presión de los 2 puntas sobre la base culé, pero el resto del bloque ligeramente retrasado a zona media, dando la sensación de tener demasiado respeto al
Barça. Esta primera presión era sobrepasada con conducciones de los de atrás, sobre todo Mascherano y Adriano o con Thiago viniendo libre a recibir para
buscar un pase interior que, en muchas ocasiones, acababa encontrando a Iniesta entre líneas, lo que siempre hacia que el Málaga tuviera que girarse. Una vez
el Málaga miraba para atrás, los espacios que el Barça disponía eran enormes, ya sea a la espalda o entre líneas, dando posibilidad a sus ya clásicas
asociaciones.
5. Defensa de construcción , a partir del minuto 20 del partido de Ida de Copa del Rey
A raíz de aquíí, el Málaga comenzó con su crecimiento. Dieron un paso adelante (quizás más de uno) en su presión, fijando arriba con muchos, evitando que
tuvieran limpieza en su salida, generando pérdidas y fallos en el gesto técnico, lo que iba minando la moral del Barça cada vez más. Impecable Iturra en la
anticipación y fundamental el trabajo e implicación de todos los jugadores.
6. Banda defensiva en zona alta. Previo del 1er gol del Málaga.
Presión arriba que continua cuando el Barça juega atrás con Pinto, cosa no se estaba viendo hasta esa acción. La carrera de Iturra hacia la futura recepción de
Thiago es una oda al creer y a la fe de este equipo en hacer algo grande. Creyó, fue y le ganó la partida a Thiago, quedándose mano a mano con Pinto y
definiendo con calma para anotar el 0-1.
7. Defensa en zonas de creación en zona media. Presión para no dejar recepción cómoda.
Increíble presión de Iturra sobre Thiago que le hace ganar varios balones que constituyeron gran peligro para su equipo.
Conforme Thiago iba perdiendo confianza, Iturra la iba ganando, uno debilitándose y desesperándose ante sus fallos y el otro, ganando batalla trás batalla en el
centro del campo, sobre todo en una segunda parte primorosa.
Los centrales, sobre todo S. Sánchez, ganó muchas batallas entre líneas, sumamos la ayuda de Iturra y Camacho, cerrando bien líneas de pase y evitando
espacios grandes a la espalda, haciendo que Messi no tuviera posibilidades de girarse y encarar.
8. Defensa en zonas de finalización
Cuando el Barça progresaba y se plantaba en zonas de finalización, el Málaga no tenia problemas en juntar a todo su bloque en torno a su área, leyendo bien
los posibles desmarques a la espalda y acumulando a muchos hombres por dentro, evitando así que los puntales del Barça pudieran relacionarse y progresar
con su característica “facilidad”. Ya hemos hablado anteriormente el enorme trabajo de los mc y de S. Sánchez entre líneas.
Destacamos algunas acciones individuales sin balón de mucho merito, en forma de cortes oportunos en el área y cruces al espacio.
9. TRANSICIÓN OFENSIVA
Fundamental para el partido son estos momentos en los que el Barça pierde la posesión del balón, robando multitud de balones al
acumular a muchos cerca del balón. Si el Málaga es capaz de ir saliendo de esta primera presión del Barça y hacer que se den la vuelta y
tengan que correr para atrás, irán ganando opciones para pasar la eliminatoria.
¿Logrará el Málaga controlar el gesto técnico y orientaciones en los controles y pases en estos momentos tan delicados? En la ida, en
muchas fases del partido, lo consiguió, haciéndose el dueño del mismo y decidiendo su modo de atacar.
Santa Cruz me parece de esos jugadores que pueden darle una noche de pesadilla a los centrales del Barça, su capacidad para aguantar
el balón y esperar a los suyos para asociarse puede ser fundamental, ya sea saliendo de inicio o entrando en el ultimo tercio del partido.
10. Transición ofensiva recuperación con el bloque replegado
Aquí es donde nos encontramos con uno de los momentos clave de Barça, su presión tras pérdida arriba, cuando ha acumulado a muchos cerca del balón.
Si el Málaga sabe salir de esa primera presión y es capaz de ser el que diga cuando quiere atacar, irá desconectando el juego del Barça y la confianza puede
tener un efecto negativo, no olvidemos que lleva 2 partidos consecutivos cosechando resultados adversos y esto siempre pesa.
El Málaga puede salir de esa presión combinando y asociándose en corto para después atacar los espacios o usar la alternativa Santa Cruz, que es capaz de
ganar la partida a los centrales culés y mantener la posesión para la llegada de los de atrás.
11. Transición ofensiva, llegadas en segunda oleada y rechaces
En la Ida, Iturra es el que llega y domina la zona de rechace en todas esas jugadas en las que el Málaga sale de la presión del Barça encuentra profundidad.
Como bloque, los blanquiazules llegan y llegan, dando opción de asociarse con pase atrás y captando muchos rechaces tras centros desde banda.
12. ATAQUE ORGANIZADO
Le gusta el buen trato de balón e intentaran tenerla siempre que puedan, sabiendo que esto, ante el Barça, es más complicado que con el
resto de los equipos. Tienen hombres de mucho talento y desborde y su futbol está creado para que ellos sobresalgan y puedan recibir
en opciones de crear peligro, si jugadores como Isco, Joaquin o Buoanotte reciben entre líneas o en los costados, son capaces de
orientarse y progresar desbordando rivales con gran suficiencia, pensemos que el momento de juego de los dos primeros (Joaquín e
Isco) durante esta temporada está rozando el nivel selección. El equipo de Pellegrini posee calidad suficiente para mandar en el tempo
del partido y cambiar el ritmo cuando lo ven justo, y domina muy bien el fuera-dentro-fuera (llevar el balón de lado a lado) y atacar el lado
más débil con incorporaciones de los laterales.
Los de 4 de arriba poseen mucha movilidad, caen a bandas, entre líneas, se juntan por dentro, se asocian, desplegando por momentos
un futbol preciosista y eficaz a la vez.
Algunos de sus jugadores poseen un gran disparo a portería, Eliseu, Duda, Joaquín o Isco son capaces de conectar buenos lanzamientos
contra la portería rival.
13. Construcción por banda
Opción de salida buscando la espalda del lateral, aprovechando la duda en Montoya-Alves (voy o quedo) ante superioridad en banda, Song es el que va a la
ayuda en banda y ahí el Málaga aprovecha para encontrar entre líneas y llevar al lado contrario para la incorporación de Gámez.
La otra opción es buscar el lado opuesto mediante los MC con envíos en diagonal o pases rápidos.
14. Construcción con desplazamiento diagonal buscando lado débil.
Aquí vemos otro de los movimientos más usados por el Málaga, bien sea con Sergio Sánchez o con Demichelis, conducen para mandar en diagonal buscando al
extremo izquierdo y la incorporación rápida del lateral para crear 2x1 en banda. Una vez llegan a banda buscan atacar el lado opuesto y, ante el excesivo cierre
por dentro de los laterales culés y la falta de retorno de los de arriba, obtener opciones de remate o control a la espalda.
15. Creación
Salidas de los centrales o MC filtrando balones interiores a los extremos que se meten por dentro para recibir y realizar diagonal de fuera dentro. En esos
momentos se generan soluciones para el poseedor a través de relaciones con la gente de arriba, aprovechar la subida del lateral o realizar conducciones
verticales y llenas de talento. Joaquín o Isco son impecables en este tipo de situaciones.
16. Creación
Cuando logran habitar en campo contrario, los de fuera se suelen meter por dentro (Joaquín, Isco, Bonanotte, Portillo, Seba) y dejan las bandas para que sean
los laterales los que la ocupen (Eliseu y Gámez). Esto da opción del nacimiento de relaciones interiores entre los jugadores importantes del
Málaga, paredes, regates, conducciones desbordando o pases al espacio.
17. TRANSICIÓN DEFENSIVA
Sabiendo lo que sabemos de este Barça, capaz de destrozar rivales como disponga de espacios, el trabajo de presión a los
poseedores/posibles receptores y el repliegue de los jugadores de arriba será fundamental si el Málaga quiere evitar que los Xavi, Iniesta
y compañía, encuentren salida fácil en recuperación y así poder atacar los espacios que haya, sean entre líneas, costados o espalda de
la defensa.
Si el Barça encuentra salida en sus primeros pases, en esos momentos podrá encontrar muchos espacios para hacerle daño al
Málaga, sobre todo en pérdidas arriba, donde los espacios se hacen más grandes para atrás.
18. Transición defensiva pérdida media
Presión intensa en zona de balón con todos los jugadores del Málaga formando un bloque que, en un visto y no visto, está cerrando líneas de pase y evitando
progresión rival, haciendo que el Barça tenga que buscar el pase atrás para iniciar su jugada desde atrás o que tengan que arriesgar con una acción individual
complicada ( si hay un equipo que tiene jugadores con capacidad de hacer una acción individual al alcance de pocos es este Barça).
19. Transición defensiva pérdida arriba
Si el Málaga es incapaz de evitar la salida rápida del Barça se verá muy expuesto a una posible recepción de Messi o de los extremos, que a su vez, con
espacios, son capaces de habilitar todos los espacios que dispongan.
Esa primera presión tras pérdida sobre poseedor y jugadores más cercanos debe venir acompañada del repliegue rápido de todos o de la mayoría de jugadores
Malagueños, de no ser así las segunda oleada Barcelonista puede ser la encargada de encontrar y atacar esos espacios con subidas de laterales o llegadas de
interiores o MC.
20. ABP
En el partido de ida 2 goles provinieron de balón parado, el 2-1 de Puyol y el empate a 2 de Camacho, a continuación podemos ver las
jugadas más destacadas en acciones de balón parado.
Destacar la gran calidad que poseen algunos jugadores del conjunto Malagueño para el lanzamiento de este tipo de
acciones, Joaquín, Duda, Isco o Buonanotte poseen un gran golpeo y diferentes perfiles para el golpeo, lo que les hace muy peligrosos
en tiros libres cercanos al área.
Para el remate, Demichelis, S. Sánchez, Wellington o Santa Cruz van muy bien en este tipo de jugadas, además, poseen a jugadores
como Saviola o Seba que en el área detectan bien las segundas jugadas y rechaces.
21. Córner defensivo. Gol, 2-1.
Un jugador en zona en el área de meta, primer palo.
5 hombres marcan al hombre en el área.
Arrancando desde atrás, Puyol ataca el espacio hacia el primer palo y acaba anotando en un gran testarazo.
22. Córner defensivo ante posible saque en corto
El Málaga sabe que el Barça saca muchos de sus córner en corto, para eso coloca a varios jugadores en la frontal de área, orientados hacia el lado del
lanzamiento.
Siguen dejando 4-5 marcas al hombre en el área y a un hombre en zona en el área de meta, zona de primer palo.
23. Córner ofensivo
Arrastre e un jugador hacia el primer palo para la entrada de 3 jugadores al punto de penalti.
Lanzadores como Joaquín, Isco o Duda y gente que va bien por arriba como Demichelis, S. Sánchez o Santa Cruz.
Debilidad del Barça en este tipo de situaciones.
Dejan a un hombre en rechace y atrás permanecen con un jugador más que el rival.
24. Córner ofensivo 2
Atacan 3 jugadores el primer palo viniendo desde atrás mientras otros 2 van al segundo palo.
26. Falta lateral ofensiva. Gol 2-2.
Lanzamiento de Duda y ataque de 3-4 jugadores hacia el balón pasado que manda el zurdo.
Este gol y el minuto en el que lograron, el 88, otorga al Málaga cierta ventaja en el resultado de cara al partido del vuelta.
27. POSIBLE ONCE Y SISTEMA DE JUEGO
