2. WILDLIFE CONSERVATION
INTRODUCTION TO
Animal conservation is the act of protecting ecosystems
and environments to protect the animals that live
there. The importance of animal conservation is
immeasurable,at a time where our planet is currently
experiencing the sixth major extinction event in the 3.6
billion years that life has been on it.This is also the first
extinction event caused by humans and the only one to
occur since the dinosaurs were wiped out some 65 million
years ago. This is at a time where the rubbish patch in the
Pacific ocean is larger than the U.S.A and where many
baby birds swallow more shards of plastic than nutritious
food !
3. DESCRIPTION
WILDLIFE
CONSERVATION
The human population has grown exponentially over the past 200
years, to more than seven billion people today, and it continues to
rapidly grow. This means natural resources are being consumed faster
than ever by the billions of people on the planet. This growth and
development also endangers the habitats and existence of various
types of wildlife around the world, particularly animals and plants
that may be displaced for land development, or used for food or other
human purposes.Other threats to wildlife include the introduction of
invasive species from other parts of the world, climate
change,pollution,hunting, fishing and poaching.
4. ECOSYSTEMS FOR
ANIMAL LIFE
PROTECTING
Here are some other ways to maintain ecosystems:
● Promote biodiversity
● Conserve water resources
● Proper waste management
● Support local environmental organizations
● Engage in restoration projects
● Educate and raise awareness
● Protect wildlife
