Este documento describe las operaciones y actividades mercantiles según el Código de Comercio de Colombia. Explica que la explotación de puertos, muelles, puentes, vías y campos de aterrizaje por parte de particulares constituye una actividad mercantil. EXPLOTACIÓN O PRESTACIÓN DE SERVICIOS DE PUERTOS, MUELLES, PUENTES, VÍAS Y CAMPOS DE
ATERRIZAJE:
Este numeral hace referencia a la prestación de estas actividades en forma particular. Los muelles son obras
construidas en las riveras de las costas y ríos que permiten el cargue y descargue de mercancías y pasajeros, la
reparación de las naves y el aprovisionamiento de las mismas y por ello se cobra un tributo de muellaje que es la
tasa que toda embarcación debe cancelar cuando utiliza estos servicios.
Los particulares o personas jurídicas también pueden construir puentes o vías para uso de ellos o con adjudicación
del Estado y al usuario se le cobra una contribución como rembolso al costo de construcción y mantenimiento, este
tributo en la Edad Media se le llamó pontazgo, hoy se le conoce como peaje.
También están los campos de aterrizaje pero se refiere a los privados o particulares construidos por personas
naturales o jurídicas, no hace referencia a los construidos por el Estado y puede cobrar tasas aeroportuarias
cumpliendo con las exigencias de la Aeronáutica Civil. En Colombia existen innumerables aeropuertos privados
donde funcionan indistintas escuelas de aviación y que además prestan estos servicios, también otros están
dedicados a la fumigación aérea, Finalmente el Art. 1819 C.Co. es el que regula esta actividad.

ACTIVIDADES EMPRESARIALES:
Los numerales 10° a 18° del Art. 20 C.Co. hablan de las actividades empresariales en todas sus facetas y el Art. 25 C.Co.
define a la empresa como toda actividad económica organizada para la producción, transformación, circulación,
administración o custodia de bienes o para la prestación de servicios. Todas estas actividades comerciales se desarrollan
con base en una organización estable como la actividad bancaria, la actividad aseguradora, las empresas de transporte de
personas y mercancías, las de fabricación, transformación, manufactura y circulación de bienes, de depósitos de
mercancías, de suministros, de espectáculos públicos, editoras tipográficas y fotográficas, empresas de publicidad,
prestación de servicios, construcción, compraventa, etc.
